Orchard Bank HSBC gave me a card when no one else would.

4

As I said in the title, Orchard Bank - HSBC gave me a credit card when no one else would. In these economic hard times, it seems that credit granters might come up with another method bsides basing their decisions on credit reports. Lokk at this. If you are struggling financially, perhaps missed a few payments over the last few months while robbing Peter to pay Paul, and decided to apply for a credit card, many card issuers will decline your request. Perhaps this is where the expertise of acredit counselor (which I am not), will come into play. It seems that it is important to plan when you will apply for credit to ensure your request is accepted. My plan is to use my recently acquired card for extremely dire emergencies only AND pay them off within 30 days or before the next bill prints. I did receive a surprisingly low APR but I don't plan on paying any interest on purchases put on this card. Thank you, Orchard, and congratulations on you decision to give me a card. You will not be disappointed!

I am writing about my HSBC Orchard Bank Card.  They are a great company to work with.  I have had this card for three years now and have received regular line increases and overlimit forgiveness. Love this card

i am so indebt. I'm glad they orchard gave me a card with the bad credit rating i have. i use this card only when i have to. Like when i rent a car or when i'm on vacation. I pay my bill off as soon as i can. I hate the interest rates. That goes for all credit cards.

The credit card company is stealing half of my payment each time

1

I received an over the limit fee due to a charge from the credit card company. After calling several times over the course of a couple of months, I finally spoke with someone that removed two of the (then 6) fees. She set me up on a payment plan to electronically take $30.00 every two weeks directly from my bank account. She failed to mention that because I spoke with her on the phone, I would have to pay a $15.00 fee for each of the payments that she had put on my plan. My last payment is scheduled to come out on the fifth of this month, January, and I am still over my limit. I've made $180.00 in payments to this company and only $90.00 has been applied to my balance. When I realized that they were charging me this fee, I contacted their customer service department through their website. Their response was simply that "anyone who is charged a telephone payment fee was informed about the fee." When I try calling the company, I sit on hold for too long and have to hang up. I wasn't told about the fee. The representative I spoke with even told me that I would be under my balance after my last payment was made on the fifth, but because of this fee, I am still almost $90.00 over it. I don't recommend this card to anyone. If you're in a situation where you have no credit, get a cosigner and go to your local financial institution for a small personal loan to establish your credit.

Orchard Credit Card can help rebuild your credit

3

The HSBC Orchard Mastercard is good for people with little/no credit or those that are wanting to rebuild their credit after a bankruptcy. The card will allow you to go slightly over your limit, but be careful because if you do, you WILL be assessed an over the limit fee of $30+. The annual fee is relatively nominal, mine is $59 billed annually. There are no monthly maintenance fees. These cards are issued with credit limits as low as $300. There is online account access. There, you can see charges, pending charges, payments etc. You can also pay your bill online for free and it will post in 3-5 days. If you need to make an immediate payment online, it will cost you $13-$16. However, it is worth it to pay that fee, rather than pay an over the limit or late fee on the account. If you have excellent credit, this is probably not the card for you as you can probably find a better card with rewards or cash back.

My Orchard Bank Master Card is accepted almost everywhere I shop

I have had my Orchard Bank Master Card for approximately six years.  I have used it over the past six years to purchase many different things such as groceries, gas, home appliances, clothing, checking into hotels, making reservations online or over the telephone, and many other things. The finance charges on my Orchard Bank Master Card are very reasonable as compared to many of the other cards that are offered out there.  I believe that I pay 11.9 percent interest, which is not bad these days.  A lot of the credit card companies are raising their fees but so far my Orchard Bank Master Card has stayed the same and therefore I am still using it for purchases.  This particular card comes with a "no yearly membership fee" because that is what was offered to me when I received it six years ago.  I do believe now that there is an annual membership fee of $39.00 for all cards being issued these days.  I have never had a problem with any merchant not accepting my Orchard Bank Master Card so I carry it with me at all times.  Overall, I would recommend it to others.
