Package-opening shears sound like a dream come true! All those tape-wrapped, tough cardboard, staple-seamed boxes the USPS drops on the front porch cry out for a world-class mechanical wrestler. Alas, **Fiskars Package Opener** -- so singular in its upturned blade and with its little accompanying screwdriver -- is *not* that wrestler. *I* still am! And I can do my act with old-and-tough Ikea kitchen scissors and a final full-armed rip just as easily as with the **Package Opener** shears. **Fiskars**, producer of an infinite number of cutting devices, has reached the "Peter Principle[d]" level of its incompetence with this one. If you care to try it, nevertheless, you'll need time to practice. And, hopefully, your hand is large enough to overcome the basic awkwardness of wielding this opener. To say this is a disappointment is an understatement.
