Fexofenadine

I have environmental allergies and I have to say that this works really good with any side effects. I am glad there is a generic out there that works great without having to put out a lot of money. I would recommend this to anyone with any kind of allergies.

Provides year round relief!

I take 180mg on a daily basis and it controls my allergies year round with minimal need for additional medications during peak allergy seasons. Occasionally my allergies in the spring breakthrough after about a half day and I need to add Flonase to the mix. about 2 days a year I have to take a Zyrtec at night to fully control any additional sneezing and runny nose. Fexofenadine alone does the trick the rest of the time! Stops itchy everything(eyes, ears, nose, throat) and helps runny nose and sneezing too.

Works great when others don't

I have tried many different kinds of allergy medicines - all the name brands, since I was a teenager. My allergies are primarily seasonal, but I am also allergic to cats (and other furry pets besides dogs - think guinea pigs, rabbits etc). As a pet care professional, I need allergy meds. I take fexofenadine essentially everyday for three seasons - I don't need it during the winter. But I feel completely normal when I take fexofenadine (no side effects, drowsiness, etc), whereas without it, I would have a runny nose, itchy/watery eyes, and nonstop sneezing. This stuff is awesome and I highly recommend it. It works for my sister, too.

Generic Allegra great alternative

I took 1 tablet a day and felt great all day! I did'nt have to take a benadryl for the break through symptoms. I am allergic to alot of different things and I felt ready for anything. It did make me a little tired in the beginning but once I got use to it it was nolonger a problem. When I had to quit taking them because insurance reasons I really missed them. My nose didn't run all the time and I wasn't sneezing and I could smell again it was great.

Works as well as the prescription!

I took the presciption allergy medication Allegra for years for my severe "Texas" allergies.  I definatly noticed relief with Allergra, although it did tend to dry my airways and eyes out and it cause my scalp to tingle and feel like my hair was crawling.  I stopped taking it about a year ago because it was just costing me way too much money.  A friend of mine informed me that there was actually over the counter generic Allegra (Fexofenadine) that was now available.  I went out immediatly and purchased a box.  I found that it did work and found relief just the same as I did with Allegra.  It did give me the same side effects of making my eyes, nose, and air passages dried out.  It also had the same negative affect that Allegra gave me of making my hair tingle and feel like it was crawling.  It did take me awhile to get my dosage correct, because just one pill did not give me the same effect that I was used to.  I found that taking two works quite well. Just make sure to take it in the morning or it might effect your ability to fall asleep.  I don't think that it is quite as long lasting as the prescription, but the price is much better than the alternative!

Allegra is over the counter?

I did not know allegra or its generic is available over the counter. I take prescription strength 180 mg generic allegra and I am satisfied with the results ( I have allergies) especially since the drug does not cross the blood-brain barrier and thus does not cause drowsiness (unlike Zyrtec). However, there are times, especially in the morning, when generic allegra does not seem to work (I take 1 tablet at bedtime).

I use herbs instead

Modern medicine may be cool for some people and from a pharmacutial viewpoint the quick fix approach may be acceptable, but as a holistic and practical person I wouldn't ever use otc products before trying to heal my self with herbs first. As a consumer I can see why the average person may be willing to buy and use otc products due to ignorance of one's own body. Many people use otc drugs for one issue, but these otc drugs usually have side effects which causes the consumer to be a chronic otc user and chronically sick person. any person who would be willing to change their lifestyle and frame of mind will have found that they themselves are the cure they wish to seek. Unfortunately, many consumers live inside a box where they go along with society says and don't take the time to seek the cause of their ailments. many consumers fail to realize they are what they eat. Eating foods such as: meats, dairy, refined grains, and refined starches leads to health pathologies. Allopathic medicine will never cure anyone.

Finally allergy relief with the sticker price

It's here allergy treatment that is medicated with out the fancy brand name price. This formulation is worth searching for at your local store though sadly many conveniently omit it as it cut in to falling price margins. Allergy medication should be more affordable like this product as allergy are a daily surge of everyday living and not just a once in a blue moon phenomena.

Allegra made me stop sneezing.

I  had always taken allegra when it was still a prescription drug.  I was skeptical when it became over-the-counter, but decided to try it anyway.  I don't know if the contents of the drug changed, but I got the same results.  I HIGHLY recommend this to anybody with seasonal allergies.

Allegra works!

I have suffered from allergies and headaches for many years. Allegra has worked the best for me to eliminate common allergy symptoms including the headaches from sinus pressure. No longer do I wake up completely stopped up and unable to breathe; I now can inhale! Much of my seasonal sneezing has stopped as well. I had tried to avoid using a prescription medication because of cost, but with insurance coverage, it's not much more than the medicines I had used in the past. I would recommend Allegra to anyone who suffers from seasonal allergies. It works well as an antihistamine with no drowsiness or other bad side effects.
