I can breathe again!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I really love Flonase Nasal Spray! Before I started using it, I could barely breathe during the spring and summer months, even into the fall, because of terrible horrible allergies. It's easy to use with no major side effects.

Less than a week after I started using flonase nasal spray, my nose was clear and my allergy syptoms were drastically reduced, if not totally eliminated. It's really simple to use, no assembly of the pump required, just a little priming and it's ready to go. This stuff really made life a lot more pleasant when flowers, trees, and grass are growing. It also helped a lot with my dust allergies, which I didn't expect it to at all.

The only drawback to the product is the taste. It runs down the back of the throat and tastes absolutely awful in my mouth. The taste lingers until I chase it out with some other intense flavor. But other than that, it's amazingly wonderful and I recommend it to anyone with allergies.

Flonase is the worst nasal spray I have tried!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

It seems like every time I get a new doctor, they always want to prescribe flonase for my allergies. I recently moved and had to get a new doctor again. I told him that I don't think flonase worked for me in the past, but I agreed to try it.

I tried it for the past few weeks to month and now I remember why I don't use it. Not only did it not help with my allergies, I now have a sinus infection, which I seem to remember happened to me last time I used flonase. I am pretty sure that I am actually allergic to some ingredient in it. I would say it's probably whatever ingredient they use to make the horrible smell and taste that it has.

So, as of today, I am on antibiotics for the s...

Holy Schnikes, my allergies are nearly cured!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My primary care physician recently prescribed this for my never-ending, miserable nasal allergies and I have to say, I'm mighty impressed!

Flonase is a synthetic corticosteroid that you spray into your nostrils.  It's not really a quick fix for sinuses/allergies because it takes a couple of days to really kick in.  The maximum dose is two sprays per nostril, which you can do in one shot and makes this an extremely convenient medication.

First, you blow your nose to get all the guck out of there.  Then you lean forward, spray once into one nostril while breathing in (this is key), then repeat on the other side.  There is a slight aftertaste, but it's not horrid. The only...

Effective but not very pleasant to use.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I am allergic to cats, dogs, dust, pollen, and a bunch of other stuff.  I started suffering from allergies back when I was in high school and they seem to have become worse over time.  Although I take Zyrtec-D (allergy tablets with decongestant) daily, there are times where I need something else to help control my congestion.  My doctor prescribed Flonase Nasal Spray to help me when the allergies are really bad.

This nasal spray contains an anti-inflammatory (fluticasone propionate) that reduces swelling in the nasal passages.  Flonase is non-habit forming and can improve symptoms within 12 hours.  The recommended dose is two sprays per nostril on...

Flonase gave me a nosebleed bad enough to need it cauterized

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

One of our discussion boards asked about various products people have tried for allergies (click here to see that informative discussion). I guess I'm an allergy expert to an extent because I am allergic to pretty near everything.

Flonase (Fluticasone Propionate is the generic name) is an anti-inflammatory (corticosteroid) nasal spray available by prescription only.

What I like about Flonase:

  • once a day dosing
  • cuts down on swelling to make for easier breathing through the nose (helpful if you have allergic rhinitis)
  • may cut down on sinusitis if sinuses drain better
  • can be helpful for indoor and outdoor allergies
  • is approved for people as young as 4 years...

A prescription for nasal allergies.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

My doctor prescribed this for me when my allergies began acting up.  It helped alleviate my allergy symptoms.  In addition, he also had me use it to actually prevent my allergies from acting up.  I'd say that it worked okay, but not as well as some of the others I've been prescribed.  It costs me about $ 50.00 with my insurance, so it's pricey, but no more so than other nasal sprays.

Was put on this for the common cold.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I don't know if Flonase is getting kickbacks where I live at, but every time one of me or my kids has to go to the doctor for cold symptoms (bacterial stuff flaring up) they prescribe this to us. I tried using it, and for just common cold symptoms it did not work. (Plus I did not want to be snorting this for 5 weeks until it started working) I ended up going back to good old sudafed and feel a hundred percent better in one day than I did in one week of using Flonase. Not sure why it is being prescribed for common cold bacterial flareups when it is supposed to be used for sinus allergies. (Which I do not have)

(Currently have three bottles of this stuff in my house that we keep getting prescribed)

My lifesaver!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This stuff is seriously the best! I can't say enough good things about it. I was a chronic sufferer of sinus infections - we're talking every time I got a cold. No one wants to take antibiotics all the time! Flonase helped me prevent sinus infections as soon as I got a cold. It released sinus pressure and lessened cold symptoms as well. I swear by this stuff. Sometimes if I feel like I'm coming down with something, I'll do a couple sprays to keep everything running smoothly through there.

It is also really great for allergies, which I also suffer from. This stuff seriously clears you up. It's easy to use and has no side affects for me. You can do a couple sprays each side once or twice a day. When I'm sick, I generally do twice a day, but if it's just allergies, once a day will more than suffice.

I seriously love this stuff. I feel like it has been such a blessing for me. If you suffer from chronic sinus problems like me, do yourself a favor and buy Flonase. You can prevent so much!

flonase worked its magic on me...

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I never had allergies when I was a child.  In my mid 20's, I started suffering from congestion due to allergies.  Arghh!  Awful!  I have gone through 2 two-week periods when I felt like I was under water.  I couln't hear properly, I couldn't taste anything, my students told me that I was yelling at them when I wasn't meaning to...  My doctor prescribed flonase, and while it wasn't an overnight fix, it helped to clear up my allergies and take away the "underwater" aspect of my life.  The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the aftertaste, but I would gladly deal with that again if I needed to.

Easy to use and no nasty side affects.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Flonase clears up that horrible problem of not being able to breath through your nose or blow your nose because you are sooo "stuffed up".  It also eliminates that nasty feeling of having everything stuck at the back of your nose and draining into your throat.  If you hold your head slighty bent forward when "spraying and inhaling" it helps the product not to drain down the back of your throat and stay in the nasal passage longer.  Within a few minutes of use I begin to feel the relief and am able to breath normally again.  You will experience some drainage or coughing up of some of the phlegm build up (gross, but true), but once cleared out you are able to work all day without the constant coughing and hacking or that pressure build up at that back of your nose.  The really great thing about Flonase is that there are no nasty side affects like drowsiness and it isn't another chemical in your system.

Worked great at first...

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

After quitting smoking, I developed a severe post nasal drip. I was coughing, coughing all day and it got worse when I would lie down at night. It was affecting my health and happiness, so I took a trip to the dr. She prescribed Flonase. It took about a month of using it every day, and finally it really kicked in. The post nasal drip was almost non-existent. It was great, a miracle! Seriously, I told all my friends about it!

It worked wonderfully for about 3 months, then started losing its effectiveness.

Currently, I'm not as bad as I was when I started taking it, but the post nasal drip cough is definitely back, to the point where once again, I'm making sure I have water with me at all ti...

Flonase works 24-7 on chronic rhinitis

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have chronic rhinitis and have sneezing fits as well as horrible congestion. I've tried just about every brand of prescription allergy nasal spray/inhaler out there and all of them have either worked for about 3 months and stopped or don't work at all. Flonase is the only allergy medicine I've been able to use for 4 years without stopping and have had my allergies under control. I use it once at night only and am clear throughout the night (which was a huge problem for me in the past) and am able to breathe for the most part during the day. I have to admit that it isnt fail proof. I have had on occaision needed to have an extra kick (i.e. Sudafed or Zyrtec) when I have gotten really bad bu...

flonase nasal spray helps you breathe better

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This nasal spray is real good at making you breathe better. You only got to take it once a day so that makes it easier to remember to take it. It doesn't put a nasty flavor in your mouth either. It is prescribed for kids and adults.

My son has allergies real bad and he is on claritin too. His claritin got to where it worked pretty good but sometimes his allergies were so bad that his allergies would still mess up so  I went to the doctor to tell him and he put him on flonase and to still use claritin everyday too. He said for him to do 2 sprays in each nostril until his allergies seemed better then to start doing it once in each nostril until his allergies seem to act up again then do ...

Finally breathing with Flonase!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Ok so the idea of daily squirting some product up your nasal passages does not sound pleasant- right?  Well let me tell you that first- its not as bad as it sounds at all but secondly and more importantly (particularly if you suffer from sinusitis) IT WORKS and it works well!  I have found that Flonase does exactly as promised by my doctor it opens up my nasal passages during periods of bad allergy attacks so I can breath.  For me all this was after just one or two days of using it.  I use this (Flownase) together with a regular allergy medicine (Allegra) and an asthma inhaler daily.  So far this effect of Flonase seems to last after using if for month after month (unlike some other perscriptions).  My allergies are not seasonal because I live in an area where I seem to have allergies year-round.  If you suffer from sinusitis and bad allergies (seasonal or otherwise) I recommend you talk to your doctor about Flonase and see if can work for you too.
