Flonase Nasal Spray Review Summary

Allergy sufferers know what works and what doesn't and our allergy prone reviews say that Flonase Nasal Spray works! This anti inflammatory spray helps open up the nasal passages and keep allergies at bay. Reviewer Cat says, "My doctor has been prescribing Flonase for me for many years, and using it in conjunction with an oral allergy medication has made life bearable." There are no major side effects but some reviewers have noted that the spray leaves an unpleasant taste in their mouths after use or that the spray irritates their noses. Still, the majority of reviewers feel Flonase Nasal Spray really helps to alleviate major allergy symptoms and they readily recommend it. It is expensive, though. Jasyjen says, "It costs me about $ 50.00 with my insurance, so it's pricey, but no more so than other nasal sprays." Take a look at our other allergy medication reviews for more advice on the good and bad in the allergy world.

I am allergic to cats, dogs, dust, pollen, and a bunch of other stuff.  I started suffering from allergies back when I was in high school and they seem to have become worse over time.  Although I take Zyrtec-D (allergy tablets with decongestant) daily, there are times where I need something else...

One of our discussion boards asked about various products people have tried for allergies (click here to see that informative discussion). I guess I'm an allergy expert to an extent because I am allergic to pretty near everything.

Flonase (Fluticasone Propionate is the generic name) is an anti-inflammatory...

Spring and fall were miserable seasons for me until I found Flonase Nasal Spray, a prescription dose of fluticasone propionate that acts as a mild steroid to reduce nasal passage inflammation. My doctor has been prescribing Flonase for me for many years, and using it in conjunction with an oral allergy medication has made life bearable.

How - And How Well - It Works
The dosage for this product is 1-2 metered sprays (50 mcg) in each nostril up to twice per day. I use Flonase in the morning and in the evening.  When my allergies are bad, I use the product religiously twice every day, up to the maximum...

My doctor prescribed this for me when my allergies began acting up.  It helped alleviate my allergy symptoms.  In addition, he also had me use it to actually prevent my allergies from acting up.  I'd say that it worked okay, but not as well as some of the others I've been prescribed.  It costs me about $ 50.00 with my insurance, so it's pricey, but no more so than other nasal sprays.

My doctor prescribed this because I had recurret sinus infections and headaches.  She said it doesn't cross the blood brain barrier like a pill, so I like that.  I does drain down the back of your throat with a flowery taste, but I can wash it away quickly with a sip of something.  I take it after my shower, and it seems to work better that way.  It has helped my congestion significantly, but I still have to take a decongestant still sometimes.  It actually helped my nose bleeding.  My nares don't get as dry and crusty (sorry).

Being suscribed Flonase made my life better on a daily basis! Using it once a day has made it easy for me to own cats and live in my dusty home. I'm definitely not a fan of nose sprays but I am willing to make an exception for this one!! It's also pretty inexpensive and lasts for a month so I am able to afford it each month (always a plus).

I have been suffering from allergies for the past 15 years or so.  At first, my doctor prescribed Claritin D, but it kept me awake at night, then I was on Beconase for a few years, but I did not really like it because it stung my nose everytime I took it. It did not work that great either. Finally about 8 years ago, after I moved to the California Central Valley and my allergies got worse, my doctor prescribed Flonase.  What a relief.  I take Flonase all year long and it works great for me. No runny nose, sore throat, sneezing, watery eyes for me anymore. And there are no side effects, no...

Flonase clears up that horrible problem of not being able to breath through your nose or blow your nose because you are sooo "stuffed up".  It also eliminates that nasty feeling of having everything stuck at the back of your nose and draining into your throat.  If you hold your head slighty bent forward when "spraying and inhaling" it helps the product not to drain down the back of your throat and stay in the nasal passage longer.  Within a few minutes of use I begin to feel the relief and am able to breath normally again.  You will experience some drainage or coughing up of some of the phlegm... review »

I never had allergies when I was a child.  In my mid 20's, I started suffering from congestion due to allergies.  Arghh!  Awful!  I have gone through 2 two-week periods when I felt like I was under water.  I couln't hear properly, I couldn't taste anything, my students told me that I was yelling at them when I wasn't meaning to...  My doctor prescribed flonase, and while it wasn't an overnight fix, it helped to clear up my allergies and take away the "underwater" aspect of my life.  The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the aftertaste, but I would gladly deal with that again if... review »

I have suffered from eustachin pain in my neck for years, and this was the first year it started to become daily, on both sides, and unbearable quite frankly.  This is the first medicine to ever relieve that pain, and completely.  i can only use 1 spray in both nostrils, more makes my heart race, but using it as i need allows me to use it not even daily once under control.  JUST AMAZING.  i do have minor allergies, just sneezing and it has stopped that as well.  a nice side benefit.

Love Flonase and love it even better now that it's in generic form!  I have severe allergies to perfumes, colognes, laundry deteregents...pretty much anything that has a scent.  If I do not use Flonase I will end up with a sinus infection if I am exposed to too much scent, ie:  shopping at a department store, family gathering, church, wherever!  This has been my saving grace because before I started using Flonase the Dr. told me I would have to have surgery on my sinus'.

The product is easy to use and just takes a second to administer.  I've been using it for sometime and have yet to experience nose bleeds or a bad taste in my mouth.  If you tilt the bottle when you administer it as you tilt your head (forward) it takes care of the taste in your mouth and if you tilt the bottle away from the center of your nose it doesn't aggravate the septum, so the nose bleeds shouldn't be a problem.  I am very pleased with this product!

I was prescribed Flonase http://www.kiwidrug.com/search/flonase/  by my Doctor 3 yrs ago and I found it to be way to expensive in stores to I found on line at "kiwi drug"for half the cost. I have seasonal allergies and they are the worst. I have tried every medication possible and I only found with Flonase I did not experience and side affects and was the most affective in preventing my sniffing runny nose and puffy itchy red eyes.

Flonase is wonderful. I have never been able to use nasal spray before, but for some reason flonase does not bother me. When I am having allergy problems, I use it and experience relief within in 5-10 minutes. I cannot take many otc allergy meds because they make me drowsy, and the pseudophederine makes me have a bad reaction, however flonase does not affect me at all mentally. It makes my sinuses clear and breathing easy. I also enjoy the scent of it.
