I recently replaced a very old air conditioner with the Fedders. Turning it on for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was compared to the one we used to own. When the compressor kicks in, it's barely noticeable. Really like this air condition so far.

**Fedders Fedders 18,000 Btu. 220 Volt Cool With Electric Heat Window Air Conditioner SKU: AZEY18F7A** **This AC is great with one exception: it makes a fair amount of noise at full power,but that is a fair exchange when the summers in the Sacramento,Ca area hit triple digits. It cools at a reasonable time rate,and when it gets real cool in the living room,I switch to Fan mode with the remote control. You can also handle the control of the AC unit with the flat buttons on the upper right corner of the unit. This unit replaced a horrible one that was from the early 1960s in my apartment.This previous AC unit made horrible noise and kept me up at night with a terrible headache,so I am very happy that this Fedders is in my living room.**
