DeLonghi Pinguino Air Conditioner is great!

By

from Bentonville, AR

Comments about DeLonghi Pinguino 11,000 BTU Air Conditioner:

The DeLonghi Pinguino Air Conditioner is such a smart choice for people in need of a little extra cooling in their homes! My better half purchased our a couple of years ago when he realized his office was getting much warmer in the Summer than the rest of the house. Being hot natured, he thought a portable air conditioner would be a smart choice. We've loved it! It's on wheels, so you can move it from room to room quite easily (even my 10-year-old has been known to move it.) It's outside vents attach to an adjucstable plate that fits right in any size window in seconds. Just select what temp you want it and... done! Super easy.Right now we're currently using it instead of our central unit while the temps aren't too very high.

Portable air conditioner saves on electricity

By

from Rowland Heights, CA

Comments about DeLonghi Pinguino 11,000 BTU Air Conditioner:

My father bought me this portable air conditioner then the central A/C unit in my house broke down. It was the middle of summer, and we would have melted in the heat if it weren't for this portable air conditioner. If you need to save money on electricity, getting a portable air conditioner is a good idea because you can move it from room to room. But that's pretty much the full extent of it's portability. Even though you could move it from one place to another, I don't really like it because you still need to place it near a window so that you can vent out the heat, and then there's also a filter that tends to drip water. All in all, it's a hassle to move it around, and I would only use it if I'm trying to save money on electricity.

Great AC Unit!

Comments about DeLonghi Pinguino 11,000 BTU Air Conditioner:

I purchased this unit for an addition I had built on. I will say this unit lived up to my expectations with ease. The setup was easy and once I hooked up the constant drain hose, I never had to worry about leaks. It keeps the room veery cool. I like the small remote that comes with it as well as the wheeled casters, so if i need to move it , I can with no porblem. I looked at a lot of units before finding this one and as of right now, as I sit in a perfectly cool, quiet room, I am very happy with my purchase.

No more miserable So. Cal summers but has design problems

By

from Signal Hill, CA

Comments about DeLonghi Pinguino 11,000 BTU Air Conditioner:

I do not have central air and I live in Southern California.  I live by the beach and there is truly usually only one month where it is ridulously miserably hot.  I have ceiling fans but during this time, there is usually no relief.  I saved enough money to buy this portable air conditioning unit.  When I got it, I was disappointed at how huge it was!  I didn't really want to look around my room and have it scream out "AIR CONDITIONER HERE."   Oh well, it was getting hot so I figured I'd use it to see how it went and return it if I was truly unhappy.  It was soooo easy to figure out how to set up.  The only problem I've had is that it's hard to set up on a vertically opening window.  The piece that goes in the window and holds the exhaust tube, keeps falling down.  I have to tape it together so that it will stay wide enough in the window.  Gravity keeps wanting to pull it down.  This is why I only gave it a 3.  If I had a horizontal opening window, I would have given it a 5.  It's extremely easy to use with the remote control.  Only problem, is that I can control the until without it.  I try to press the buttons but it will only respond to the remote.  It cools whatever room I put it in very fast and very cool.  It is pretty bulky but wheels around nicely from room to room.  It's big but works great.

keeps me cool

Comments about DeLonghi Pinguino 11,000 BTU Air Conditioner:

We live in a fairly small but old house. This means that it didn't come with air conditioning when we moved in. To keep cool, we bought window air conditioner units for the individual rooms, and this one for the living room/dining room/kitchen area. I would guess that this unit is used to cool about 700 square feet of space. For 12,000 btu I think that is a lot. It doesn't keep the space ultra cool, for example on a 100 degree day, on the high mode, it would only lower the temperaure to about 90 degrees, but that is much better than nothing. On most days it is enough to keep us cool. Hopefully global warming doesn't kick in too soon. We bought our unit from costco when they had a coupon deal. It was easy to set up, and we take it down and store it away in the fall when we no longer need it. It is noisy but not too bad. Our window unit is actually louder. I have also read reviews of other units where you need to empty a tray of water, and with this one, we don't need to do that.

The Pinguino has lived up to my expectations.

By

from Rialto, CA

Comments about DeLonghi Pinguino 11,000 BTU Air Conditioner:

I've always had nothing but good experiences with DeLonghi products.  I have purchased their Pinguino, portable air conditioner.  It is an 11,000 btu unit.  I live in the high desert of California.  Although, we have central air, the sun sets on my bedroom.  This DeLonghi unit I purschased, is perfect, for my needs.  The days of triple digit heat, I seldom realize.  I just set my unit to the desired temperature and forget about the searing heat outside.  Also, it does not use the electrical power that one might expect.  Suffice it to say, I am very happy with this product and recommend it to anyone considering a portable air conditioning unit.

Keeps cool in the texas heat

By

from Bryan, TX

Comments about DeLonghi Pinguino 11,000 BTU Air Conditioner:

The delonghi air conditioner is added to a long list of Delonghi products in my home! They make a fine product and they have not come up short on this lovely little cooling product! I live in Texas and the summers can be dreadfully hot and humid and there is nothing better than to come into a cool room made that way by the Delonghi Air conditioner and it even has a lovely little remote so that you can set it up to cool on auto from across the room and for people like me that want to sit down and take a break without getting up it makes it a great all around deal! It is affordable which makes it a great investment for home cooling! For me who does not want to cool to whole house all the time it is great because with its wheels and convenient exhaust it moves from room to room with ease.  Never will you regret the purchase of this handy little device!

The DeLonghi Pinguino seems very compatible.

By

from Defiance, OH

Comments about DeLonghi Pinguino 11,000 BTU Air Conditioner:

The DeLonghi Pinguino seems to be very compatible and looks like it would be very easy to set up rather then doing the whole setting the other kind up in the window. So I would have to say if you like compatibility then go with the DeLonghi Pinguino
