Our reviewers had mixed emotions when it came to Earthlink’s VOIP service. Let’s look at the positives first, according to one reviewer, Earthling offers “free long distance, voice mail, caller ID, Free call blocking, free online voice mail and more”. On top of that, some reviewers report that they can’t tell the difference between talking on a landline and over the Earthlink VOIP service. Where Earthlink fails, say our reviewers, is in the customer service department, which apparently is outsourced to the Philippines. I've been loyal ELNK Cable user and supporter for 3 1/2 yrs. Two events starting in June 07 make me disgusted and feel very betrayed. In the first, I ordered a VOLP hook-up system & paid $72.27. The items sent did not include speaker set. I learned that my 2 phone jack modem system was inadequate: 3 jacks = needed. Also I found that my existing phones would all have to be replaced (junked) if I got VOLP to work. Despite help from a savvy computer repairshop, I learned VOLP was incompatible with my CPU. I requested a refund and stated this in writing/also via chat. Supposedly a 2nd system...

Earthlink is a great internet service provider. It has excellent customer service....The staff is extremely curteous. the conncetion is great and the Accelerator is a plus.....I have had no problems so far.... I am very happy with the service. plus there are No unexpected bills ever..
Both my husband and I were back in school for our BS's in Criminal Justice. We took the entire program on-line and only had one problem with our internet that entire time. The service department was great when we did have a problem.
Earthlink is expensive. I hate talking to people i can't understand their english and every time they respond to an answer or question they say, I am sorry Mr so and so, repeating your name every time you speak.
