ive had the optiplex for 4 years now, running my plant automation software 24 hrs a day and seven days a week and not a single problem with the machine. its still a fast machine for office 2007, video survailence, the internet or any data crunching task i throw at it. i will order another soon to upgrade and keep this unit as a back up for my database.  these optiplex units may cost a little bit more than a bargan unit but if you want top reliability and quality onsite service then i wold get a dell. while my optiplex has never needed service i have a dell laptop that has and they come onsite the next day and repair it right there. and tech support is based in TX so you get someone you can understand.

I had always used a Dell laptop for work. When I quit my job two years ago, I needed a new computer. Since I had always used a Dell, that is what I went with.I got a desktop instead of a laptop since I always use it in my home office. I have had this computer for two years now and it has been really great. I have not had any problems with it at all. It was priced well, and I have really gotten my money's worth from it. It's easy to use and I was able to set it up and use it right out of the box. I am not always good with new stuff, so i needed something that would be easy to figure out and this really was. I would highly recommend Dell computers to anyone who was looking for a new computer. Whether you know a little or a lot about computers this is the one for you. I ordered mine online directly from Dell and recieved it in less than a week. It's a great, all purpose medium priced computer and I would buy it again.

In regards to tech specs this computer will get the most average user along just fine. The specs are very decent....a Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93 GHZ processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and etc. The Optiplex looks nice and is encased with a moderately visually pleasing case. Not bad because I have definitely seen worse. I would take this desktop over any other such as a HP or Gateway. Dell has won me over with its reliability and affordability and this desktop is a perfect example of such. The desktop ran at my house without a hiccup. I was able to upgrade to a legit copy of WIndows 7 on it and had little to no trouble finding the proper drivers for it online. Dell's support website is very simple to use and friendly enough that my friend who is no tech savvy and has an identical desktop was able to diagnose her computer's problem and find the right drivers for this Optiplex 780!! Grab this one if you want a system that is ready to fly. Make sure to remove bloatware though!

I have had a Dell desktop 780 for a while now and I am satisfied with it.  The monitor is very nice and the computer is streamline.  The keyboard and mouse are efficient.    You can pick from a good choice of colors.  The price was competive with other brands. I use it every day and it keeps my business and personal projects going.  I recommend Dell before other brands.  They do give a good warranty for a good price and will trouble shoot with you to get your repairs and problems with the desktop done.  I prefer Dell to others because of the quality of the computer and they will send you replacement parts in an economical and practical fashion.  Dell technicians are easy to work with and will call you back.  Dell computers are easy to work with and use for the internet and play your favorite music.  Most of the time it is easy to download various software and hook up your printer.  The last Dell computer I purchased lasted for over five years.  I feel that I get my money's worth from my Dell Desktop and you will, too.  When your warranty runs out they will still help you with technical problems at a reasonalbe costs.  The technicians are knowledgeable and professional and meets your needs.  I would recommend Dell to others.  Judy

Well, this computer is a pretty good computer for the price.  It will do almost anything you need it to, but I do wish that the video card was a little better. It gets a little slow running some of the more high quality video games. Other than that, this computer is great. I just gave it three stars because of the slow video capability. I love this computer for everything else though. It is great for playing regular dvd videos and fantastic for every other thing you can do. It works great for word processing, surfing the internet, doing school work and all of that stuff. I love that the tower is a mini tower. I don't have a lot of desk space, so having a smaller tower is perfect for me. I find it amazing that they can fit this all in such a tiny package.  The fan is kind of noisy on this computer, but not too terrible and really, you can't expect it to be completely silent I guess. At least, I have yet to find a computer whose fan is completely silent. I think they could improve the video card, but this computer is still a good buy! I do recommend it.

Dell is a well known brand, although it lacks compared to another leading brand. The Dell Opti-Plex Desktop is a great computer for High School and College studens and has fast downloads. One of the problems with Dell is that the computers just don't have lasting power.

Technically, any college students, that need a great cheap price efficient computer to start off with, i would recommend this desktop. This desktop is just what you need. It is very fast, when accessing the web, and can get you to the places you need to be, like surfing the web, checking emails, and doing term projects, This desktop computer, is trully the best way to go, of course if you are in a home, and not a dorm. This computer has limited space to save documents, but it will save all the necessary documents that you would ever want to save. As for very High Tech things, I would not reccomend this computer. This desktop computer, would need to be fitted into a certain criteria as saving power, and conservng energy, to be classified as high tech. This computer, could be purchased in any electronics retail sttore around.
