A Waste Of Money!

2

I bought these when my son was young (toddler age). They looked really cute, but were a little pricey. I am all for a good price, so I was a little disappointed in that. I bought them anyway. I will give Crayola that Crayola TaDoodles are fun and adorable, but they aren't worth that hassle or money. I fell into the trap that these crayons are easier for babies and toddlers to hold. They are not. The round ball shape is awkward. It's easy to grab, but not the best to draw with. I find that the thicker crayons are a much better choice for little guys and gals. The other problem that I had with these is that the crayons don't stay in well. Kids can pull them in and out easily and they can just fall out. It ended up being more of a hassle then fun. I wouldn't recommend getting these. You'll just waste your time. There are so many other great Crayola products out there. I was just really disappointed in this one. They could make some changes to it to make it better.

A NEW WAY TO COLOR WITH CRAYONS

3

THE CRAYOLA TADOODLES CRAYON BUDDIES ARE A BRAND I TRUST. THE CHARACTERS ARE CUTE WITH BRIGHT, ATTRACTIVE COLORS. IT IS A GREAT 1ST CRAYON. IT WORKS VERY WELL WITH KIDS MOTOR SKILLS. IT IS SOMETHING EASY TO PACK IN A PURSE OR BAG, AND TO ENTERTAIN YOUR CHILD WHILE EATING OUT.IF THE KIDS WRITE ON THE TABLE OR FLOOR, NOT A PROBLEM. IT IS WASHABLE. IT THINK IT IS ON THE EXPENSIVE SIDE. THE CRAYONS DO NOT LAST A REALLY LONG TIME, AND 1/2 OF IT CAN GET STUCK IN THE BUDDY. THERE ARE REPLACABLES. I

Awesome BIG product works in Small hands!

This product was used to help several small children with special needs in grasping in art therapy. I love the shapes and the way they fit into a child's hant. IF a child cannot hold a simple crayon because they do not grasp easily then this is the product for that need. The larger round shapes can fit easily in a small hand, and they can be easily adapted to a small hand by using tape or velcro to help them hold onto.

Sounds like a great idea, but not so much...

My son was constantly breaking regular crayons and I could never find the fat crayons like they had when I was a kid. So when I saw a commerical for Crayola's new Tadoodle crayons I figured I'd give them a try. My son could never grasp how to use them no matter how many times I tried to show him. He ended up throwing them every time we tried to use them thinking they were a ball. Not to mention the crayons started falling out after we turned them a couple times. I wasn't very impressed with them and ended up putting them away.

Difficult to use.

1

These are so fat they are hard to grasp for little ones and then once they hold them they are difficult to point straight down to write with. My son is almost 2. We first tried them at 16 months and put them away. We have both the first marks and the crayon buddies. I took them back out again to try now that he is almost two and it is the same problems. They are also not any less messy than regular markers or crayons. They look cute but are no fun for little ones!

Buy the large crayons instead!

1

I bought the Tadoodles Christmas 2007 when they were new because I thought they were so cute, as a present for my then 1 year old son.  He had no problem holding the animal crayon holders-  the problem was that the crayons would not stay in them!  Every time he turned them over to put crayon to paper it would immediately fall out.  I thought maybe they weren't in right so I took crayons out and put them back in again, then tried myself.  Same problem. I bought another pack (they come in 3 packs, with packs of different colors available) thinking that I had gotten a defective pack, but we had the same problem again.  It's possible that they have been improved or something, since there is a more recent positive review, but I'm not wasting any more of my money to find out. I purchased a pack of the good old-fashioned large crayons and my son had no problem holding them-  even at 1.

Simply terrible

1

These are simply awful.  My girlfriend gave them to me when her two-year-old just used them to mark on herself and had graduated to crayons.  My kids (almost 3 and almost 1 1/2 yrs old) also use crayons but my son LOVED the new singing colorful noises on the tadoodle packaging (which I found annoying) and I thought they might be helpful for my daughter (15 mos) who likes to eat crayons instead of color with them.  Boy, was I wrong!  While my son (almost 3) did love them, they made a HUGE mess and were very hard to clean up.  I think I'll likely let him play with them again... but outside and with minimal clothes! And my daughter.... where do I begin.  I was excited to try these because they're supposed to be specially designed for first coloring experiences.  My daughter could hardly hold them and, when she did, they immediately went -- ink side first -- in her mouth!  I showed her how to use them on the paper but because they splatter they still go all over her and her clothes.  We will definitely NOT be letting her try them again any time soon.  I'm glad I didn't spend money on these.  They likely won't be in my house very long!

Not impressed with TaDoodles for toddlers.

I love Crayola products and I love letting kids get creative and that even includes toddles. These Crayola TaDoodles Washable Crayon Buddies are supposed to be like your toddler's first crayons. The three packs of TaDoodles have three crayon buddies. **What I like about the TaDoodles:** They are cute and eye catching for young children and they are drawn to pick them up. It really is washable for those masterpieces that end up on the wrong canvas. **What I didn't love:** TaDoodles don't hold together like I would expect them too. The crayons fall out. These are really expensive considering in the end there's just three colors. ***My Viewpoint:*** These are probably more user friendly for preschoolers than toddlers and most preschoolers will want more than three colors. They are a cute idea but not as functional as I wanted them to be. I wouldn't splurge on these for a toddler again. I'll just let them fingerpaint.

Crayons wouldn't stay put

2

My son is eighteen months, and he loves to scribble, but he also loves to be rough. These fit in his hands well, but with just a few minutes of use, none of the crayons would stay in the holders. They also only hold the triangle crayons, which I haven't found in many stores, so as soon as these wear out, when I can get them to stay in, I probably will be tossing the toys. I feel like they were a waste of money, and probably would have taken them back to the store I purchased them from, if I hadn't bought them online. Perhaps the marker version would work better, but the crayon version failed miserably. I also think that they could be improved upon with a better grip. Right now, they are just plastic, with a few bumps from the various shapes. If they had some rubberized grips, or were more ergonomic, perhaps my son could hold them better. Overall, I would save your money and go for chunky crayons instead.
