Most HelpfulThe Capital One Platinum Mastercard.....this is a good card for anyone that's had financial trouble and recovered from it. The interested rate can be high, but your information is reported correctly. If you have credit that is not perfect or far from perfect this is a great card to use to re-establish your credit rating and improve it.
Capital One alsohas a rewards card which is good.
Capitol One Platinum Mastercard, taking it to new highs! Think about the average Joe and then you'll understand my review. I've been a consumer and have personally carried this card for years now, no let downs thus far. I recommend Capitol One over others namely, Discover, Chase and Applied Bank. If ever in doubt, ask those who have tried and used Capitol One, you wont be disappointed.
capital one platinume master card always lets me know about any activity happening on my card because i made the mistake of having a card given to one of my children so captiol lets me know when they are using it.
great job.
I had a Capital One Platinum Mastercard. I never missed a payment, I was never late on a payment. I always paid above the minimum payment request. When I received a notice letting me know that they were raising my interest rate, and I mean RAISING the rate...I called them to find out why. They said it was an across the board raise because of the economy. Now all I hear lately is about how the economy is coming back. Seniors are not even getting their annual cost of living increase this year because the cost of living has gone down. Which is it? If the rate increase was not bad enough, when I called...
review »Capital One Platinum uses unfair trade practices in dealing with interest rates. I was at a low 2.3% interest rate and received a notification stating that the interest rate would be increased to 9.9%. The notification stated that I had the option to cancel the card and keep the low interest rate to pay off the balance or keep the card with the higher interest rate. The notification stated that I had until 04/17/09 to notify them of my decision. I called the number in the notification to cancel the card. Capital One was to have cancelled the card effective 05/17/09. I called Capital One...
review »I have had my Cap One card for about six months. It has a 14.25% rate that will not increase as long as the account stays current and minimum payments are made. I try to pay my entire balance so I don't have any interest accrual. Recently I received an e-mail inviting me to sign on and create my own image card. The service is free and as long as you follow their guidelines practically any image may be uploaded from your computer. They also offer an extensive list of photos, icons, etc. The categories are too numerous to mention here I am sure most of you have seen the recent TV campaign about this...
review »I have never given a review before now. Mypoints has enticed me and a survey company has paid me dearly for what is called in credit card company terms a "Change in Terms Notification and Delinquency Payments Notification". Evidently credit card companies feel they have the right to do business however they feel fit. They feel like it is ok or necessary to change their agreement with their cusomers and if the customers do not like it they can leave. I chose to stay. There is no fee. I have a low limit and I always pay it off in full whenever I use it, which happens to be rarely. This...
review »This card has come in very handy as a credit builder. After going through a long and tough divorce and ending up having to file bankruptcy I have been struggling to find any credit, even in small amounts to help build my credit back up. Capital One offered me this card with a low credit limit but with 6 months at 0.00% interest on my purchases. Also, after making a purchase and making my payments on time for 3 months they increased my credit limit and after doing the same for 3 more months they will increase it again. This means a lot to me. The interest rate is somewhat reasonable compared...
review »I got this card some years ago as it offered what I thought was a decent interest rate and 12 months interest free. What I didn't know was that you always have to read the fine print. I was given a low maximum as I didn't have any credit and the account fees, both monthly and yearly, killed me! I was already over my limit right away!
So I ended up having about a 28% interest and hadn't hardly bought a thing with it. Yes, I was young and yes, naive. If you're looking to build your credit, they'll more than likely give you a card but be forewarned, pay attention to when they charge their fees because...
