My home gym

4

I love how little floor space it takes, still it's not too sightly to have weights in the living room and since units are so heavy it's not practical to move them around, they stay right next to the tv. I love that I got such a range of weights in one and honestly love the convenience at home.

Boflex Selectech Dumbells are crap

1

I have a very expensive set of selectech 1090 dumbells that are useless.  I have had them for a couple of months and due to a flawed design which boflex refuses to aknowledge they are unable to be used.  The problem is the release mechanisim in the cradle breaks completely off after minimal use so you can not turn the knobs anymore.  I contacted Bofles this morning and they would do nothing except for offer to sell me new cradles.  Get some good old fashion iron and save yourself some grief!!!!!

Easy to use, sleek and compact - a great set of dumbbells!

When I first saw these dumbbells in the store I thought "wow, what a cool concept" - all of the weights I need in one set. There's no need to buy a rack to hold different sets of dumbbells (which only makes sense if you're in a health club). Granted, I'm a "girl", so I don't need 50lb+ dumbbells, but even if you need smaller weights for a variety of different small-muscle exercises, this is a great set. - Goes up to 55 lbs. and starts out as little as 5 lbs.- Easy "dial in" features means you always select the right weight- Extra stand is a great way to keep the set at an accessible height- Slick design My husband and I both use this set, so it gets a lot of use. The rubber around the weights means there's not a lot of "clicking" noises when you're using them, and they're easy on the floor. This is a great weight set - especially if you have a limited amount of space. Having all of your weights up to 50 lbs in one set certainly leaves you a lot of extra room for other pieces of exercise equipment.

Not great for the money

3

I bought these less then a year ago and im not impressed. I expected something exemplary for the price and found that they are not the greatest quality. I have noticed that one of the dumbells has a loose weight and it doesnt clip the greatest. If I shake it while it suppose to be secure, the large weight will actually fall off which worries me when i am working out. I havent had any problems with it falling off over my head and i hope it doesnt ever happen haha. I do love the fact that they are small and dont take up a lot of room especially since i live in an apartment. I suppose I could maybe contact bowflex and tell them about the problem and then I would be completely satisfied. I probably wouldnt buy them again.

While this product is very convienent for strenght training it is also very bulky and makes some exercises a little more challenging. While it is very expensive, but if you think about it your getting a ton of different weights in one weight. When i first started lifting and having to go pick up a different weight cuz it got to heavy or to light that was a pain now all i have to do is use this great technology and i have my desired weight. This is great for doing different bicep curls cuz it allows you to do the ladder lifting where you start from a heavy weight and work your way down the ladder with every set. This product is even being used by Tony Horton the guy who made p90x cuz its so easy and convienent to use. I would like to see this product in the gyms now a days but i am not sure you will ever see this in the gym cuz of its price and the gym would have to supply a bunch of them.

Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells make working out so much easier!

5

Now this has got to be the greatest idea ever for anyone who loves to lift weights. It makes everything so much easier when you don't have to unscrew the thing and add and take off weights every time you want to do a different exercise. All you do is turn the know to the weight you want and lift. It's so simple and so convenient. No more changing weights for a few minutes between exercises and slowing you down. Now you can go right from one exercise to the next because it only takes a few seconds to change the weight. I absolutely love these dumbbells and think they are a must have for any avid weightlifter. It really does make life so much easier and it saves so much time during your workout. These things are amazing! Nuff said!

Amazing Dumbbells...Not so amazing price

5

I bought a pair of these off of the internet because I saved so much money that way. the Main con of these is by far the price. Make no mistake these weights are VERY expensive. Another con is the size of these weights. They are very large. This is fine for most exercises but the weights can be cumbersome and get in the way of good form on certain techniques which isn't great because form is more important than reps. Ok now onto the pros. One pro is that this is PERFECT for people that live in an apartment or a small living space. I live in a duplex and these don't take up much space at all especially compared to if I had purchased all the sets of dumbbells seperately. Another pro is the bang for the buck. They are expensive but much less expensive than buying all the sets individually.

Bow Flex Free wieghts are out standing

5

We purchaced the Bow Flex Free wieghts for my 13 yr old son for Christmas 3 years ago. He has used them with a regular work out program and I can't grt over how in shape he is and how good he looks. He is 16 years old now and still works out with them. They were easy for him to use and grow with because they are a "dial a wieght" system. You just turn the dial on the side of each hand wieght and lift!- that is amount of wieght that comes out of the holder, so any one can use them, and you can increase as you go.

Pricey yet good

Bowflex is infamous for making well infomercial products. EVERYONE has heard of them and that works towards there advantage. This product honestly an entire gym dumbell selection into a small compact station that can be set up in the corner of any room. Working out requires many different sizes of weights and this allows you to change with ease. This product is built to last. While the price is steep it is worth it. Do not cheap out and get a knockoff brand, the weights will fall off and not last, while this product is built to last. You truly get what you pay for and more with this product, it is durable and allows you to workout without buying A LOT of equipment, in a way it actually ends up saving you money and is worth it. I have used this product and told many of my friends to buy it, it is ideal for college dorm room settings as well. Its great for when you need a quick workout and cant make it to the gym. Overall, cheak out this product

Bowflex SelectTech works great!

5

These Bowflex SelectTech weights are very nice. I purchased these years ago. I've been using them since. They get the the drop done and get it done good! The nice thing with these is that you do not need to buy individual dumbbells and a dumbbell rack to put them with. These are compact and easy to store. Just dial in the weight and go. They are pretty durable though you do not want to drop them or they will break most likely. They are sturdy but I would not drop them like a iron weight or rubber weight. But most likely since these are meant for home use you would not want to drop them anyway. The handle is very comfortable and is easy to hold and grip on to. I use gloves and it works great. The price of these things are a little high but I feel they are worth for the quality workouts you are getting with these. Plus since they are Dumbbells you can perform many exercises in the comfort of your own home.
