I am nearly 70 years old and was getting the skin droop under my arms when I held my arms out. After about six weeks, all that was gone and my arm circumference increased by over an inch. It helped with the tendonitis I have suffered with for two years and my shoulder doesn't hurt as much anymore. Anyone who says it doesn't work has not used it regularly, no matter what they say. You absolutely cannot use this thing and NOT notice a difference. If you try it once a week or sporadically, maybe you won’t see any improvement. It not only works your arms…if you tense your stomach muscles and leg muscles as you do it, it will get them too, to say nothing of respiratory actions. If you do it right it will make your muscles burn and you WILL get stronger. I trained with weights earlier in my life and hurt myself many times. You won’t hurt yourself using this and you will improve…if you faithfully use it every day. It only takes a few minutes. If you use it correctly you will be covered with sweat in six minutes.

I am a bit surprised to see so many positive reviews of this product. I have a more professional review of the product- I have a PhD in kinesiology and am a certified athletic trainer and certified strength and conditioning specialist. The science behind this doesn't make sense, and I don't care what the paid profesionals on tv say. There is no independent scientific proof that it works. The shake weight will increase the isometric contractions and add pertubation- both of which are good- but not what the average every day person needs. Isometric (muscle action without movement) is used mainly in the beginning stages of rehab or if there is a specific point where a person has weakness in the range of motion. It isn't a functional movement, it won't help you carry your grocery bags to your car or carry your baby around the park. Pertubaton (jarring) helps increase proprioception/balance, which isn't usually an upper body issue for the every day person.

One positive thing I will say for this product is that if you are a non-exerciser and this encourages you to exercise, that is a positive. Some non-functional exercise is better than no exercise.

It Really Does Work!

By

from USA

Comments about As Seen On TV Shake Weight:

I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to weight loss products and so I honestly didn't really think that this shake weight would work. Boy was I surprised! Within a month, only using it for 10 minutes a day 5 days a week, my arms are almost completely toned! This is totally worth the price and you can't beat the results. You will be happy that you bought it! :) Also, it's actually pretty fun it you do it to music, you can use it as a regular weight. There's no rule that says you can't so it's really a two in one weight. There are so many different exercises that you can do with it and you really get your moneys worth. I'm so glad that it comes with an instructional DVD too! Tat's just another bonus that comes along with it...I want to challenge every skeptic and anyone who just needs that extra boost to buy this shake weight. It is truly amazing...and to think, I almost didn't buy it because I thought that it wouldn't work :)

A fun way to work arms

By

Comments about As Seen On TV Shake Weight:

A fun way to tone arms. The shake weight is easy to use and comes with an easy to follow dvd. The dvd guides you through various exercises and combines the 6 minute workout with "active recoveries" so you don't hurt so much and so you don't get bored. I don't know if it is actually more effective than any other weight program, but it does get me moving my arms. So that's a plus.

Shake Weight

By

Comments about As Seen On TV Shake Weight:

This shake weight isn't all bad, but it doesn't really work for me. I follow the video, I use it often, and I just feel ridiculous. My arms didn't get toned like I wanted. I did feel a little burn and felt like I was getting a workout, but the results weren't what I expected. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Works, but I feel rediculous using it

By

from USA

Comments about As Seen On TV Shake Weight:

My husband got me the Shake Weight as a gag gift, so I thought I'd give it a try. It was effective, but not particularly fun to use. Like the ad said, you use it for 6 minutes a day; but those 6 minutes drag on and your arms do hurt afterwards. I'd rather do a standard workout DVD then use this product.

Also, I feel rediculous using this.

The ShakeWeight is Harder than it looks!

By

from Titusville, FL

Comments about As Seen On TV Shake Weight:

When I first saw a commercial about the ShakeWeight and it said you should do it six minutes a day, I was thinking to myself, that's nothing, how is six minutes going to do anything? Well, I was lucky to be able to do 20 seconds the first time I tried it. It really does work out your arms and once you lose your momentum it's hard to get going again. You can definitely feel it working though. When you use it behind your back, which again is difficult to do at first, you can really feel a difference. You do have to work yourself up to six minutes a day, but it is well worth it! It is inexpensive and they have a heavier duty one for men. I have recommended it to my friends and co-workers and no of at least three that have gone in bought one for themselves. My son was a little leery when I brought it home and said you aren't seriously going to use that are you? But he now uses it occassionally himself. My daughter was self-conscious of her arms and would never wear short sleeves or tank tops, even around me; now after using the shake weight she is getting more comfortable and has seen a noticeable difference. I would definitely recommend this product if you need some toning in your arms and you can even feel it in your abs too!

Be prepared to be embarrased

By

Comments about As Seen On TV Shake Weight:

Okay, so I got this as a gift.  I was totally embarrassed by it.  I thought this thing was a rip-off.  Well, it was a gift...  I finally pulled it out and gave it a go.  Well, it's actually pretty impressive.  I mean, it feels really silly, you look foolish, but I feel it in my arms!

Would I leave the "Shake Weights" out when company comes over ? No, they would laugh at me.  But, too bad for them!  These things really work.  I've been using them for about 2 month now.  Yeah, they are funny feeling, but they really do give you a work out.  My arms look a lot more toned.  AND, because its kind of fun to use, you might actually use them!  It makes working out fun.

I'm sure the athletic models on the tv don't use these.  They must use real weights.  But, I don't look like those tv actors, and I don't expect to after using this product.  I don't want to spend hours in the gym, i wouldn't go!  I want to do something fun that still gives me good benefits!

Shake Weight is Great

By

from Perry, GA

Comments about As Seen On TV Shake Weight:

I received the as seen on tv Shake Weight as a Christmas present at first I thought of this as a funny little gift. But once I put in the DVD that comes with the shake weight and I began to workout with the shake weight I found out that this is not just a silly as seen on tv gadget. I have a daily fitness routine that I am very loyal to. So I have work out with average free weights nearly every day for some time now. But the shake weight works your arm and shoulder muscles out a bit differently that traditonal free weights. Another aspect of the shake weight that I really like is the DVD that comes with it. This instructional DVD not only shows you how th properly use the shake weight it also shows you how to move your arms around to get the best workout possible.

Shake the fats out of your body, and lose bad weights!

By

from Brooklyn, NY

Comments about As Seen On TV Shake Weight:

This type of Shake Weight turned out to be as helpful as the commercial says. It sure got me stronger and more fun to use than the old type of weights where you simply raise and lower it every time. I'm sure it can be use more ways than one, but I doubt Shake weight can be outmatched by it.

I even like how you can use the shake weights in 4 different ways instead of one ways, quite helpful with most of your body if not all. Plus I have 2 to share one with someone that does wanna use it, so you can say that I like it.
