Chestal Honey truly works

4

Chestal Honey gave me fast, albeit temporary relief from a nasty nagging night cough associated with upper respiratory infection. I despise all cough syrups because of the nasty taste and the horrible side effects, but alas Chestal was neither. The taste was pleasant and easy to swallow, but I did find it TOO sweet. The formula does work for the cough, but it does not last long. I had to re-dose every 2 hrs. I believe this product to be effective, but also believe that its far too sugary. There is already honey in this mix, so why the addition of sucrose ??? You do have to re dose often, and the thought of all that sugar in my body was concerning to me. I love that there are natural homeopathic products available, but for the love of God PLEASe decrease the sugar. Its not necessary. Otherwise, I was satisfied with the results.

Can Give To Small Children, Works For Some Not For Others

3

Because this is not a chemically intense cough syrup, you can give this to children under the age of four, making it a great alternative to other medicines which have a lot of cautions and side effects. The homeopathic ingredients are not strong enough to be damaging to children or adults so that is not a threat at all. The problem with Chestal cough syrup is that it works sometimes and other times it does not seem to touch coughs at all. My mom swears by it, but our family has had quite a few experiences when it didn't seem to do anything. And I do want to warn anyone who is allergic to or wanting to avoid sugar- this has sugar in it in addition to the honey. INGREDIENTS citric acid honey purified water sodium benzoate sucrose Congestion Relief I didn't really experience any congestion relief with this product. It is more of a cough syrup. Chest Congestion Relief I didn't experience chest congestion relief with this product either. It seems to just coat the throat and discourage coughing and occasionally a sore throat. Relief of Aches & Pains On occasion it does relieve sore throats but sometimes it does not seem to touch them, so I have to say I rate this a three for pain relief. Cough Suppression I have a hard time trying to decide how to rate this. For cough suppression, it seems to do an okay job sometimes and sometimes it does not seem to touch the cough. For my mom, however, she swears by it. So, I guess I will put this at 3.

Natural, tasty and without the side effects of most cough syrups

Recently I caught a bug from some coworkers that left me with a nasty cough.  I had no choice but to purchase something to help calm it, but I wanted to avoid Dextromethorphan because of side effects like lightheadedness, drowsiness or nervousness because I needed to go to work.  In my quest to find this I discovered Olbas Cough Syrup which consists of wildflower honey, herbal extracts and essential oils.  I was a little skeptical at first but decided to try it.  What a surprise!  The natural antioxidants of this Swiss formula really helped and it's safe enough to use whether you're sick or just need some relief from pollutants.  (as someone with a lot of allergies who lives in a big city I can tell you that there's an awful lot in the air that's irritating) I have no problems with taking medicine when I need it, but sometimes these days it almost seems like a lot of "cures" are worse than the disease with all the side effects they have.  Among the ingredients are thyme and pine which are great for your immune system, licorice which has always been used for help with abnormal productions of mucus, plantain which cleanses the bronchial tubes and horse chestnut which helps with circulation and healthy bronchial tubes, The essential oils include Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Cajeput, Wintergreen, Juniper and Clove.  It was not tested on animals and contains no artificial sweeteners or colors or preservatives or animal ingredients.  It's like something a grandmother might make for you and I found it both tasty and soothing.  It almost seemed too good to be of any real use, but it did calm my painful cough and make my chest feel a lot better.

Chestal works great!

This is the first cough syrup that I've had that actually tastes good! I had the Chestal honey cough syrup, and it was amazing. It worked great, and I didn't mind taking it. My wife tried Coldcalm, and it didn't help too much up front, but her cold didn't last too long after that!

Chestal Honey Cough Syrup is good

4

I tried **Chestal Honey Cough Syrup **recently after contracting a cold. I was prompted to buy it after buying the Children's variety and the reading the homoeopatic qualities. I was pleased with the results. Although my cold was not severe, I was pleased with results. The pros are that: 1. it tastes great - it does not taste like medicine. The honey flavor is very pleasing. 2. it helped soothe my cough. I took this before I went to bed at night and was pleased with the results. 3. it comes in a decent sized container and the expiration is at least 2 years away. 4. it is homeopatic. I do not like to take medication unless it is truly necessary. (Especially since there are no cures for colds viruses. Currently, medication only soothes your symptoms.)

Chestal is a good way to ease a cold

4

I detest cough syrups when I get a cold because of its taste. After all, why should I bother swallowing a syrup when I could just pop a pill? I starting using Chestal when I was about to get a cold and I was out of my trustworthy cold medicine pills. My first gulp was surprisingly good; it didn't taste like medicated cherry and reminded me more of honey and flowers. I didn't mind taking the syrup after that because I liked the taste and it was pretty effective. One of the cons is that it takes a while to go to use: I had to take it for 4 days for the cold to go away. I felt instantly better after taking the syrup each time, but after a while, I would get stuffy again. I loved the taste the first time, but after taking it for 4 days, the flavor started to taste a bit strange and sticky. My cold did clear up after the four days, which I think was mostly due to the syrup. I would especially recommend this to children because it doesn't taste bad like most other syrups and is pretty effective.

Chestal Honey worked the first day then stopped working

3

Chestal Honey really helped me the first day I took it then for some reason Chestal Honey lost its power. It tasted really good which is always a plus but they really need to work on make it a lasting product. I coughed for so long because I really thought it was all I needed. It is pretty cool that you can take it every couple of hours as needed but the formula needs some work to be more effective.
