well worth it!

This screwdriver is so handy to have around. I think I use it more than my husband does. We just moved into a new house and the moving guys borrowed it to put together all of the beds, the legs on the tables, and all of the dresser mirrors. Just today I used it to put together a toy kitchen and a flat screen tv stand. I couldn't live without it. I don't know how I ever used a regular screw driver. Great for replacing batteries in toys especialy tough screw that don't seem to come out. I wish I had one in every room of the house (too bad my husband thinks it belongs in the garage) The charge seems to last forever, I very rarely charge the battery and it always seems to work, even after not using it in awhile.

Handy cordless screwdriver

I really like having this driver around for small jobs and not having to get out the big 18 volt set when I just need to tighten a pull knob or some other simple thing. I've had it for about a year and it seems to still hold a charge about as well as when it was new. It has plenty of power for everyday tasks and it's easy to change out bits quickly. The pivoting head makes it much more versatile and I really like that feature. I do wish that it came with some other better option for charging and storage though. The charging cable is just a regular wall plug, and it plugs into a little jack that's hidden when it's rotated into the 90 degree position. I mostly use it in that position, so when I'm done I have to open the pivot up, plug it in, and it just sort of sits on the workbench taking up a lot of space. It would be nice if it had some kind of cradle or wall mount charging base, maybe that held a few extra bits too.

A must for every household collection of power tools!

I'll admit, I don't use too many tools. I'm afraid of any power device that could cut off a finger or two! This little drill, though, is awesome! It's not super powerful, so it's not like you could use it for all the tasks needed to redo a kitchen or something like that, but it's perfect for lots of stuff that needs to be done around the house. It's lightweight, easy to handle, and comfortable for even my small lady hands! It has a light on it, which I don't think I've ever used. The bits are really easy to switch in and out. I have used this a lot, from tightening screws on cabinet doors, to hanging pictures, etc. It's cordless and charges pretty quickly. It's a compact drill and doesn't take up too much space on my hubby's workbench. Obviously the fact that it pivots is great and helps get in tighter spots that are nearly impossible with a conventional drill. These are very reasonably priced and would make a great gift for a someone who already has your typical more powerful cordless drill.

Well worth the money

Some months ago I was getting ready to refinish our kitchen cabinet doors and knew I would have to remove several hinges, handles and knobs.  Thought I could get the job done with a regular screwdriver but the arthritis in my fingers and hands prevented me from removing all but two of the hinges.  I searched on the Internet for cordless screwdrivers and ran across the Black and Decker Model PD600.  It looked like it would do the trick.  I read some reviews on other websites for it and decided to give it a try.  My husband had to go to the hardware store anyways so I had him pick the screwdriver up for me.  I was impressed with how easy the bits are to put in the chuck.  It has some kind of a quick release mechanism...no need for a chuck key.  The screwdriver pivots.  It has a light on it that comes in handy when working around dimly lit spaces.  The description I had originally read said that it had a built in tape measure but mine didn't come with one.  I called Black and Decker and was told they stopped putting the tape measure in them.  No problem for me as I have several.  You can throw a lever on it and go from using it as a screwdriver to using it as a drill, the lever changes the speed.  It has a rocker type switch for changing from screwdriving to screw extracting.  All in all, I think it's a great little cordless screwdriver.  I highly recommend it to anyone.
