I bought this as a Christmas gift for myself in 2011 for less than ten bucks, not expecting much from it. I have been pleasantly surprised from it and it still works like it did when I got it. I use it anywhere from four to eight times a month to make a couple cups of rice at a time. I have never been able to make rice on the stove top come out good, and I like to make Spanish rice for Mexican nights, fried rice for mini Chinese buffets at home, or just plain old white rice, and this cooks up my rice perfectly. I have actually come to enjoy rice even more because of buying this. I also like that it fits perfectly on my counters, and it stores away easily when I am ready to put it away. It is also very easy to clean, and the rice does not stick, so I do not have to waste time with cleanup or storage. It is also simple to use, nothing complicated with this unit. It was ready to go right out of the box after a quick first use cleaning, which I recommend. All in all, I would buy again.

We purchased this rice cooker when we moved into a new apartment and didn't have any kitchen appliances. We had used a few Black and Decker appliances in the past with good luck and this little rice cooker was the right size and right price. We cook for two people and this rice cooker is the right size. It makes enough for one meal. We have successfully cooked brown rice, wild rice, quinoa and cous cous. The non-stick coating keeps food from sticking and, as long as the food does not sit in the cooker for too long, the food on the bottom is not overcooked and does not stick to the pot. Even though this rice cooker does not have a steamer basket, it does a good job of steaming vegetables. We just load the vegetables in the cooker (hardest vegetables on the bottom) and add water. Again, just enough vegetables for a two person meal. We have used this rice cooker for almost 4 years. We never expected it to last this long. In the past year, the handles on the sides and on the lid have broken. This hasn't affected the performance of the rice cooker. Rice, grains and vegetables all cook to perfection and cleanup is easy.

We needed a rice cooker in my house for many years - having used a good old fashioned pot with olive oil in it to cook our rice. We FINALLY decided to modernize and bought this little guy. He does the job - I do not know what else you would want with a rice cooker...perhaps one that sings and dances too? He cooks the rice is great time, nothing ever sticks to the bottom, and we're a happier family for having bought it. PS The price is terrific too.

I have to say I never saw the point of a rice cooker until I was given one as a gift and tried it. I mean, what's wrong with cooking rice in a pot on the stove? I am sold on this little Black and Decker model. White rice, brown rice, sticky rice... it cooks it all. Perfectly. Really. It comes a with a measuring cup and easy-to-follow directions. Fill to the indicated line, cover, press start and wait. It even keeps the rice warm until you're ready to eat it. It is easy to clean and I love the little spoon it came with. The size is perfect for two people. Ease of Cleaning Couldn't be any easier! Durability don't use it a lot, but so far so good... I expect it to last a while

I love my Black and Decker rice cooker and would highly reccommend it to anyone.  It is so simple; you just put in the rice and water, turn it on, and you're done.  Perfect fluffy rice with no work.  I never have to worry about it burning or boiling over.  I love it!

Our youngest son and his wife have a rice cooker. With their rice cooker, they can measure, cover and walk away.   It can be set off away from their stove top and work area while they are working in those spaces. The water never cooks over to make a mess to clean up Clean up is a breeze. Rice comes out how you want it every time. I'm hoping Santa with bring me one.
