I admit, I have multiple brands and types of muscle rubs and ointments in my home, because I find different products work better for different areas. Bengay is one of those products I prefer to use before bed on large muscle groups. After a rough day, if my back is hurting, I whip out this stick and ask my husband to give me a backrub and then apply this. He doesn't have to worry about getting anything into his eyes, and I can have the pain relief of a muscle rub and ointment. The dispensing offered with the Bengay Massage pain relieving gel is fantastic. You can really rub into the muscles without worrying about over application. It is a bit more expensive than other comparable brands, but I feel the massaging head is so worth the extra money. The scent is not as overpowering as other brands as well, although that is not a problem with me. The pain relief is almost instantaneous and it helps me get to sleep.

I have very bad foot pain and over these past few months I have been trying various analgesic creams to give me comfort and relief from my sore heels and arthritic big toe. I have been taking too many pain relief capsules and was wanting to find a topical relief. This cream gives a nice warming sensation that did allow me to move my feet and heels without the shooting pain I usually have. It gave great relief to the arthritis in my big toe. I kept to applying this twice a day: in the morning and again when I got home from work. Doing this I had no skin irritation at the application site. A slight bit of redness which did not cause me too much concern. The smell was typical of these type of creams although the packaging did bill itself as a vanishing scent. It did vanish but at the rate of the other analgesic creams. What really sets this product apart is the twist applicator top. Most of these creams have just a regular tube opening or a sponge applicator. The holes in the tip did keep the product from dripping out all over and if you do rub it in it does feel like a mini massage.

The only other muscle pain lotion I have ever used was Gold Bond, and I have to say that I like I like the Bengay much, much better. Between favoring the gel over the cream, and Bengay's new applicator, this will now always be my go to product to massage on after a got bath to ease my muscles and joints. While the bumpy top is a great one handed option that significantly cuts down on the mess, I do also have to enlist a second person sometimes to get spots - back of my shoulders in particular - that I can not reach on my own. The smell is the standard menthol, but it washes off hands easily. Plus, I am normally putting this on at the end of the day before bed so smell in this case isn't much of a deal breaker. The Bengay Pain Relief works fast, in more ways than one. Not only do I start to feel better nearly right away, the gel seeps into my skin quickly. I wake up in the morning feeling good as new and my sheets aren't streaked with leftover gel. I can't attest to regular use, but for the occasional aches and pains from work, job or household, this gets the job done right.

I have osteoarthritis in my lower back. The pain is chronic and very severe sometimes. I have to include numerous products to manage the pain. I do not like taking pills often because they really make my stomach hurt and feel nauseous. I use different topical products which all have their positives and negatives. I wanted to try Bengay Pain Relief + Massage because of the massage applicator. I also had a good coupon which helped offset the price which is affordable but could be a little lower. It worked like the traditional Bengay. It has that strong odor of menthol. The smell isn't as overpowering once it is rubbed in and absorbed into the skin. The applicator made it easy to apply. It does really feel good to apply light pressure with the massager to work the Bengay in. It does a good job of easing pain and sometimes eliminating it. There are other topical creams out there that I prefer over this but I still think this is a good product. It does a nice job on sprains, strains, tight muscles, etc. I recommend trying many to see which one works the best for you.

I like the Bengay products as they are comparable to other muscle relieving creams such as IcyHot. I used the Bengay cream that you have to rub into your skin and it wasn't bad. It isn't quite as strong as other creams and doesn't last quite as long, but it is comparable and it gets the job done. The think I really like about this particular product is that it has the little nodules on the top that you use to rub the bengay into your skin. At first, I didn't think that these nodules would really work well and honestly didn't think I would use them but they actually feel great. When you are having muscle pain, they feel like they are massaging the cream deeper into your skin and relaxing your muscle. I also like not having to use my hands to rub in the cream. I hate getting these types of creams on my hands because you have to really wash them off well or you will end up getting it into your eyes. Having the little massager top on this bottle, it allows you to use it instead of your hands, which is a plus.

Okay this is most definitely one of my absolute favorite new products. Of course being very familiar with Bengay and how effective it is I was thrilled to try this pain relief massage gel. What makes it even more amazing is how the product has evolved and gotten even better over time. This new pain relief gel is better in so many ways. First it comes in a well designed bottle making it really easy for the best possible application of it and without making a mess or wasting any. One thing that definitely makes this specific product a game changer for me is that after I apply it, the hideous medicine smell that I had basically just learned to accept after all this time, literally disappears. I am not left smelling like a human cough drop which in my opinion is a pretty big development in the pain cream industry. This would absolutely be my number one pick for any and all body pains.

This is such a great product for people with chronic pain or sudden flare-ups or athletes. Bengay has been around for a long time and I always associate it with the smell. Anybody who uses it will smell it around them, and others will ask them what they have on. While the smell is powerful, it is needed for the Menthol it uses to soothe your aches and pains. It really does a good job relieving muscle pain. And the new applicator with little massaging nubs is a bonus. No longer do you have to get the creme all over your hands, you simply use the attached applicator to rub into the sore spots. As you rub it in you get a little massaging effect too. You can still smell the creme, but once it gets worried into the skin it's not so bad, considering the relief you will get. I highly recommend this for those who workout regularly, runners, people with chronic pain issues, or just for a back ache.

I have used Ben gay for minor aches and pains for years, being runner and kayaker who sometimes overdoes and feels sore the next day. I also feel sore after some long days at work or simply sleep wrong and bend my neck wrong at night, sometime leading to a neck headache. Ben Gay soothes and penetrates and the aroma has always appealed to me. Menthol is also good for the kind of headaches I may get from sleeping wrong, and that's good because I don't like to take any pills.
