Who knew drawing with water could be so much fun!

5

I have used the Aquadoodle with both of my kids and both of them loved it, especially when they were younger. If you are looking for something that your kids can do for fun, that won't leave a big mess and will keep them busy this is it. The Aquadoodle comes with a great little water pen. You unscrew the top and fill it up. It has a spongy tip so the water comes out easily and smoothly. It won't let a lot of water come pouring out at one time. It's easy for kids to control and work. Once it runs out you can just keep filling it up again. There are also other little tools that you can buy that go with the Aquadoodle and make more fun. This is great to bring along while traveling somewhere or just to use in your own home. Aquadoodle has come out with a lot more products then they had when my kids were little and they are a good brand to go with. Give Aquadoodle a try. It's easy, fun and brings smiles to the little ones!

I have a four year old son who LOVES to color and do little art activities. My walls and carpet used to be his canvas. So I finally decided to get the Aquadoodle and it was amazing! He only colors on it so my walls and carpet no longer suffer. It's perfect for young kids and I would recommend this to any mom suffering.

Aquadoodle Rocks!

Aquadoodle products of any kind rock.  My kids have the large mat and some smaller Elmo coloring pads.  They can color away and they don't get messy or get any mess anywhere.  I spice it up and instead of just the standard aquadoodle pens it comes with; I give them each a small bowl of water and they can dip their hands in it or feet in it and they can use paint brushes.  They love it and I love it.  It keeps them busy.  Give them other things to make shapes on the mat with as well.  A small ball work well.

A GREAT toy that keeps a child occupied!

Aquadoodle is a gem of a toy! It is so much fun to play with with your child! The mat is big enough for you to either work on a picture with him or her, or each of you work on your own...The pen holds a pretty good amount of time in water, but it would be nice if it came with an extra! This can hold a child's attention for a good long time and there's NO water mess or paint mess to clean up....all you do is fold up the mat and your clean up is done! GREAT!

We could easily have done without our Aquadoodle

We got this toy for our girls for Christmas last year. I thought it looked so neat in the package and just knew it's be perfect for them.  I even bought a 2 extra pens so they'd have plenty to share.  Well, I haven't been very impressed. They definitely enjoy the first few minutes of playing with this, but the board quickly becomes all "colored up".  In order to draw any more on it they have to leave it sitting there for awhile to dry.  By the time the board is dry, they've moved on to another activity and the Aquadoodle was pulled out and used for only 4-5 minutes tops.  It just seems like such a waste to me.  Also, be aware that the board and the markers need to dry thoroughly before they are put up!  Can you say moldy? HA! Not fun, but I really should have thought of that ahead of time and caught myself.  So, that problem is more my fault! All this being said, we still own our Aquadoodle. I'm not quite willing to get rid of it yet. My kids don't play with it often, but writing this review makes me want to pull it out for them tomorrow.

Great toy

I had known about this toy for ages having babysat other kids who owned it. I don't know why it took us so long to get one ourselves. It was my mom in fact who ended up being the one to buy one. It is a perfect way to learn to start drawing and to draw without making a mess or worrying about drawings on the walls. I love that it dries and be used again a little later. I remember from other people that it does tend to wear out after a while not drying as well and the top getting worn. We got the paintbrush and a few other things to go with it. I would advise against the paintbrush that you have to "dip" and paint. There is one that you fill with water just like the pens. The one you have to dip lets them learn soon that spilling it is fun and eventually they just try and pour water on the mat. One thing I do wish is that the water came out a little slower. It comes out very freely and if the kids shake the pens water flies around.

A Great Gift!

I purchased this toy for my 2 year old nephew for Christmas this year.  Boy was it the hit of Christmas!  Everyone (adults included) took turns coloring on the Aquadoodle.  I was thrilled with its ease of use.  Literally all you have to do is unroll the mat, add water in the pen and doodle away!  I was also impressed with the quality and durability of the pen itself.  The kids were really coloring hard and they were not able to destroy the tip.  It also didn't  leak, which was a problem that I had anticipated.   For family who were traveling a long distance and didn't have much extra room in their car for large gifts, this was a perfect gift.  It is easy to roll up and off you go.  My only concern is the potential loosing of the pen.  I am sure you would be able to purchase another pen, which would also be fun so there could be multiple "artists" at one time.  Overall, this gift was a successful purchase that I was excited about!

A mess-free alternative to crayons for my toddler

5

We just received an Aquadoodle for the first time for my 2 1/2 year old and so far it has been something he enjoys.  It is great for travel in the car or at a restaurant, for sure!  The little water pen it comes with is easy to use but also easy for him to take apart and dump the water out.  I don't mind the water, but it kind of defeats the purpose of using it to write!  The surface to write on is soft and you can only write in the blue background color that shows up.  It also seems to take a while for it to dry, which means that he can't draw another picture unitl his previous one has dried and disappeared.  Of course, being a toddler he is easily entertained with other toys while it dries and will come back to it later when his interest in it is perked again.  I think we'll get the most use out of it for car trips around town to run errands and will likely use regular crayons and papers at home.

Aquamiricle!

The Aquadoodle Mat is the best toddler occupier ever! Toys will only occupy a little one for so long until they want to be like mommy and daddy. Crayons can be eaten, and markers can make a mess on everything. The answer is the Aquadoodle Mat! This mat uses a special material and a pen that is refillable with water. No more dired out markers or "uh-oh's" coming from a play room. Kids can draw on the Aquadoodle mat for hours. No need to have more paper on hand. As the water dries, the picture goes away and they can start all over again. The only downside that I have found to this is that you have to make sure you don't fill the pen too full. If you do, your kiddo can wave the pen around and watch water fly out. Fun for them, but not fun for the person who gets splashed with water. That aside, this is a perfect toy to have. We even "finger paint" on ours with a bowl of water. Can get messy, but is by far less messy than actual finger painting!

Excellent non-messy toy!

My son received this as a birthday gift when he turned two. I wasn't familiar with it, but I was eager to let him use it, because I was intrigued with the concept. Wow--such fun! I am glad my aunt gave us extra "pens", which are sold separately, because I was able to play alongside him! The mat is a generous size, plenty large enough to create some toddler masterpieces. You fill the "pen", which is a plastic writing tool with a soft tip, with water and use it to draw on the mat. It shows up in blue, and after a few minutes, the drawing disappears.  The mat wraps up really small, and it takes a while to use up all the water in the writing tool. This is a great gift for boys or girls, for ages 2+. I recommend purchasing the extra writing tools so more than one person can doodle at a time. The only thing you need to be careful of is to make sure that once you're done doodling, that the pens aren't left on the mat. I was unaware that my son did that, and by the time I noticed, there was a small blue stain on the mat. I highly recommend this product!
