I got this card for a balance transfer deal. It has a decent rewards program, but there are other cards that have much better programs, plus American Express is not accepted everywhere, so that doesn't help either. The issue with the rewards program is that it is tiered (i.e. you don't get a full 1% cash back at the beginning). Customer Service Their customer service is fine. Available Rates It has a higher rate because it is a rewards card, which I don't mind because I don't carry a balance.

The American Express card is a great card to have for many financial needs.  It is fast and easy to use.  A member can earn points if they are in good standing with their membership.  I would recommend this card for anyone who wants a solid credit card.   Some examples include: When one goes to the store, or prefers to buy things online, it is essential to have a trusted credit card on hand.  If a person is in school and needs to pay for books or other needed items they can use this card as payment.  It is also great to use for those who like to travel a lot, the points members earn by using their card can also be redeemed by contacting customer service of American Express, or even going online.  Going online to AmericanExpress.com is very simple to do, since one can pay their bills, check the overall standing on the card, and some can get cash back if they pay the minimum payment of the card on time.

No annual fee and automatic american express rewards after you reach 2500 points.  I've never had any issues using this card and loved the protection you get on your purchases whe you use this card.

This card gives you a little more bang for your buck.  You have the American Express name behind you so you know you are protected.  It also gives you a heads up for ticket sales - nice to be ahead of the game.
