Thumb's up

This tea kettle is awesome. Easy to use. Just fill water and put tea bag in it and turn on. Has automatic shut off when tea is done. It's great when you want to make just a cup or a whole pitcher. Very easy to clean and takes up little storage space. Definitely recommend this for any tea drinker.I received this for free in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

When this was given to me as a gift, figured it was something I'd never use. Tried it just to see how it worked, love it and use it all the time! Had a house guest that wanted one too after she used it! Haven't been able to find it in stock but is on Walmart's website...hope it gets back in stock soon! Best gift ever!

An entire family of tea-drinkers gives this one a big thumbs-up

This is far and away my favorite Christmas present this year! I got addicted to electric kettles during a summer in Europe, and never want a kitchen without one. I had a fancy Italian model, but one of my tea-addicted college kids smashed the glass carafe at Thanksgiving, so I had to make tea the old-fashioned way for over a month. My husband (a coffee drinker, so you have to give him points for sensitivity) got my this for Christmas, and the world is now a safe place for people who have a thing for wet leaves. To begin with, this kettle is FAST. I'm drinking my first perfectly steeped cup before the microwave or the stove chug the water up to lukewarm - every serious tea-drinker will tell you the perfect cuppa starts with cold water. It's faster than my fancy Italian model, too.- bye, Fabio! The capacity is enormous, so I can 'hot up' the teapot and still have plenty to fill it - I used to have to heat the pot with tap water, which takes forever to heat on winter mornings - wasteful, too. Despite its size, this kettle is easy to handle and pour with splashing, dripping, or scalding, which is not what I've been used to. Non-teaholics will appreciate fast-boiling water, too. Jump-start pasta or rice water, or thin stocks without making them cloudy. The college kids say it makes Ramen faster than a bowl of cold cereal. I'm not sure that's a nutritional improvement.

If the price is good, buy it

After doing the regular recon of purchasing, the reviews were all pretty much the same down the board for electric kettles. Purchased this specific one based on the price and the brand name. Works just as good for the last few months as it did on the first day. The fact that it is metal was a little bit of a turn off as I would have preferred to go with a glass one, but apparently the glass ones seem to crack or break someway somehow. I clean this one every time I use it (just a quick paper towel wipe on the inside) as it does seem to collect a few spots from the water, but that is normal with all electric kettles with every day use. The features are simple and have worked great for a while now, simple one touch switch to turn it off and has an auto shut off feature after the water reaches a boil.

Standard Electric Kettle

This kettle has been in my family for years; it was passed on to me when I moved out on my own and continues to work well. It takes just a few minutes to brew tea using this kettle, or even just to heat water for cooking when all your stove burners are busy. Definitely simple and straightfoward to use, fill it with water or as much water as you want to heat, set it on the burner plate thing and press the lever down. It lights up red when the kettle is locked in and is being heated. Sometimes it takes a little moving around of the kettle on the burner to get it to click into place, but this is really a very minor nuisance, if I would even call it that. I have a kettle for stove use but find myself using my GE electric kettle far more often. I didn't give it 5 stars because it lacks any special features, not that any are needed, I just feel like this is a basic kettle that functions well- perhaps it is 5 star worthy considering my family's replacement kettle is already malfunctioning! Safety Very easy- too easy to accidentally turn on the kettle; the outside also gets hot

Changed Tea brewing to Minutes

Our original Tea Kettle burned out so we went to the store to purchase another. After 1/2 hours of deliberation we decided on the Electric Kettle from GE. This kettle is a cordless serving kettle. As in it heats on a pad and then can be put on the table for easy serving/entertaining. It has a concealed heating system that heats the entire pot from the inside not just heating the water on the bottom to bring it to a boil. When completely full, 1.7L it heats in about 1-2 minutes, which compared to my other one, is fast. It has a removable filter that can be taken out for easy cleaning. It has a press-to-open button to automatically open the lid. Underneath the handle there is a water level indicator to show how much is left or how much you can pour in. The switch to turn it on glows a blue color to show that it is on and working, once its done heating the light indicator just turns off. The outside is made of stainless steel and black. This product also comes with a 2 year warranty which is perfect for us. I would definetly recommend this kettle for those who dont have the time to wait 5 minutes to get their tea or coffee.
