I did a lot of research on kettles before actually buying one and I found this one and decided to buy it. I am so glad I did!! I love the brand Breville and they are a reputable company so I really love it. It looks great on my counter and it boils the water very quick which is an amazing thing. I also love the capacity of how much water it boils at once, it is more than other kettles. It is in stainless steel so it looks very modern on the counter and it is very easy to clean with stainless steel wipes. The water tastes great and it is better than the plastic kettles because in the plastic ones, the taste of the water is different once boiled. The price is not that high compared to other kettles but it is very worth it because it lasts a lot more and longer than other brands. It is an amazing kitchen item and I recommend it to everyone because it is a very needed item in the kitchen!

Looks good, has some useful features, cost much more than opposition, but the lid mechanism started to fail at 10 months, then within weeks of the warranty expiring, the lid will not stay down. Very disappointed with that.

The breville ikon cordless kettle is awesome. All you have to do is add water.. tea and hook it up! No more putting it on the stove and having to listen when its done.. No worrying about something happening while your stove is on. This thing is just awesome. The clean up is also great.. just wash it out and your ready to go. With its timer it turns it self off once it is done.. So say you set this up and you have to go some where.. oh no.. you forgot.. Well no worry.. it will shut it self off once its done and when you come back your tea is all ready without you worring about your house burning down from some type of tea fire exposion from doing it on your stove.. So if you want some great and fast tea.. pick one of these up.. your going to love it.. Do it!

I'm big on drinking tea, and it's such a hassle to have to boil new water every time I want to drink a nice, hot cup of tea. I especially hate taking a pot out just to boil water. After purchasing this Breville Cordless Electric Kettle, my life is so much easier! I enjoy drinking my tea so much more, instead of having the feeling that it was such a hassle to make. This electric kettle is made of stainless steel, so you can make a lot of hot water at one time, and just keep it in the kettle. The water will still be hot enough to make your tea even after an hour! I haven't tried to use it longer than that, but maybe I should! All you have to do is pour the water in, and hit the button. The water will heat up so quickly, you won't even realize how long it's been. The kettle itself looks extremely modern too, so it doesn't clutter up my kitchen look. The only bad part is that it's actually pretty expensive, but it's really worth it to me because I use hot water all the time.

I love this kettle. It is so much easier to just turn this on in the morning, plus I finally got rid of my old crappy stove-top kettle, which means more room on my stove-top. I've went from feeling like making tea is a huge hassle to drinking it more times a day than I've done in years. I love everything about this kettle, except for one thing. The outside gets way too hot when heating, and this could be a problem. If you have small children who grab at things, they will get burnt, because this sucker gets very hot. I didn't know any better, and I touched it the first time I was using it, and I burnt the crap out of my finger. Other than that, this is a great product. I would reccomend this product to everyone from occasional to everyday drinkers.

I had been wanting a teapot for the stove to heat water for tea. When we were looking at different teapots and kettles this one caught our eye. My husband and I both liked the looks of it. It is very classy looking and being stainless steel will stay nice looking and is easy to clean. One thing I didn't like about most teapots that go on the stove is the high pitched whistle they give off when the water is hot. This kettle has a nice little ding to let you know when the water is hot. It isn't very loud, but if you aren't in the room when it goes off you can tell it's done by the fact that the water gauge is no longer lit up. I personally like the sound of the water boiling as it heats up. Some more nice features are: the lid has a spring so it opens slowly & gently with the push of a button, the water heats quickly and it is cordless. It would be easy to take to the table and the water stays warm for a good amount of time. I also like the fact that with it being electric it doesn't take up a burner on the stove.

This electric kettle heats up water very quickly. The see through windown lets you see exactly how much water you are heating. I would recommend that you always heat at least two cups of water at a time to make it easier to pour and it limits the amount of steam coming out as you pour the water.. The outside of the kettle does get hot and stay hot because it is metal, so be extra careful about leaving it out around children even after you have turned it off. The wireless feature is nice if you are moving around the kitchen. The cord for the base stores nicely inside of it so you can leave the whole thing out on the counter while still looking organized. This is a great product to use if you have a small kitchen with a limited amount of burners. It is also good for offices if you like to drink tea at work.

I bought this kettle to replace my 10+ year old kettle, which had problems with its power cable. I liked the design of the Breville and the stationary base concept and believed in most reviews saying that this is a stainless steel kettle. However, it is not. The entire lid is pure plastic and there are other plastic components inside the container (including the slick-idea blue LED holder), which invariably will give you plastic leaching and organic trace compounds for many months to years. What made me return this kettle for a refund, however, was not just the plastic, but also the fact that the stainless steel bottom developed significant spots after the very first load of water, one of which was dark and would have developed a rust pit rather quickly. If that wasn't enough, the lid mechanism only worked every other or third time (you push a button to pop the lid open). This mechanism cannot be disabled or worked-around. I tried many times to see if it gets better after many moves, but it didn't. All in all a very disappointing implementation and craftsmanship. I fixed the cable of my old, truly all-stainless kettle and will continue to plug/unplug it every time. At least I know that works...

I love my Breville Ikon cordless Electric Kettle. It has a gorgeous, modern, sleek design so it looks good on my countertop. Not only does it look nice, it works great. I found out about electric kettles from my mom who lived in England for awhile. Apparently these are a household staple in Europe. I use y electric kettle not only for quickly boiling water for tea but also to pour hot water on my hot dirty pans to make for an easy, quick clean up. If i am in a hurry when I'm making pasta, I will boil the water in the kettle and transfer it to the pot. It's a lot faster than bringing it to a boil on my electric stovetop. Stainless steel can be a pain to clean but the outside of the kettle seems to have some kind of finish that keeps fingerprints from showing up (for the most part). Overall I am super pleased with this item and recommend it to my friends

I have never been a grand fan of tea. I was always one to prefer strong black coffee, or better yet a refreshingly crisp soda pop. My close friend went and married a rather sophisticated gentleman of British roots. He convinced her that tea would provide all of the perkiness her morning routine required. But it was also much healthier than the stuff in coffee beans. When my friend told me this I calle it "hogwash". I decided to do a bit of research. In other words I pulverised search engines for an hour. I discovered that his claims did has some basis in science. So...I told my friend we should have a taste test. Her husband purchased the Breville Ikon Cordless Electric Kettle to assist in our little experiment. This machine is a wonder. The tea we shared blew coffee from my old maker out of the water. He suggested we add milk, and now when I sip my tea with my finger lightly pointed out I feel just like a princess. It is a bit pricey for the likes of me, but if you can afford it please go for it.
