Best for making hot beverages in very little time!

I love my Braun Electric Water Kettle. It is fantastic for making a quick cup of tea or hot chocolate. I use mine almost every single day. It really is an essential part of my day. I also take mine along with me when we go to visit my in-laws. They do not drink coffee or tea so I need to bring my kettle with me. The cord can be wound inside the base so that only the needed length is used. The base of the kettle has a "360-degree rotational connection," which means that you don't have to align the kettle in any particular way when replacing it. You just place the kettle on the base and you are ready to go. Because it is not attached to the base, when you fill it with water you do not have to deal with an dangling cord. I love how you can see the water level on the side so you know just how much water to put in it. It has a large capacity so you don't have to refill it constantly. It boils quite fast and shuts off automatically so I don't have to keep too close an eye on it. It's very easy to clean because it detaches from the base. This kettle is very durable and is also very easy to wash - I wash mine by hand.

Best Electric Kettle I've Seen

5

This is the most convenient kettle I have ever owned. I drink a lot of tea and have one of these at home and at work. It holds 7 cups. Aside from tea I find it great for all kinds of instant snacks like oatmeal or bouillon. It is very easy to seat the kettle on the base in any direction. The base has the cord, freeing the kettle to be carried around to where you need it or even outside to melt the ice on the windshield! It heats quicker than other kettles and has an auto shutoff. It has a grounded plug too. Very safe design. The handle is very secure and easy to hold and no chance of burning yourself. I use these many times all day long and have never had a problem. Good for long use and LOTs of hot water.

own it and love it...

We have several teapots and felt we needed something more practical. We drink tea daily and instant hot cereals which require hot water. This water kettle is great and is used daily in our home. It heats much faster than a basic tea pot and doesn't make that harsh piercing whistle that makes you come running like the house is on fire. Its much easier to clean than a tea pot and doesn't have that odd deposit or sediment on the bottom. We own this model in black and it looks great in our kitchen. Its modern and doesn't seem out of place in our kitchen. It has a easy measuring on the side of the kettle from two to twelve cups so any size family or gathering could use this. I think it would make a great gift for a tea drinker or a family who enjoys hot cereals or hot chocolate even just add water soups. This is a dependable Braun product and has lasted me several years... I think with proper I use this water kettle will last .

I love this appliance! It heats water to boiling in minutes and is so easy to clean. I have seriously used it at least once a week for years and it's still kicking. I highly recommend it, especially for college students (perfect for Ramen cups, hot cocoa, tea, and more) and it's easy to put away.

Hands down, an electric water heater is the way to go. This water kettle heats up amazingly fast and you can hear it happening. Plus there is no annoying whistling sound you get from the stovetop water heaters so you are free to heat up water beforehand, walk away, and when you remember to go back, it will be done. Plus this apparatus is very light weight. It does have a rather short cord so be wary of that and place this close to an outlet. It shouldn't be too difficult to move around because it isn't heavy though.  I've had this for 2 years, but unfortunately the lid on my heater is slightly broken. The kettle still operates if you push the pieces down though. My only other problem with this is that the bottom of the kettle is no longer smooth. It is almost like there is a residue on it, but it does not really rub off if you try to scrub it. I still try to clean the inside of it out every once in a while to prevent any weird things from growing, because every once in a while I will pour my water out and I will see little bits of who knows what floating in my water. If you try to drink plain heated water from it though, it might have a bit of a metallic taste, but this seems to be the case with all heated water so I shouldn't blame the electric kettle for that. Overall, I am still glad that I have this appliance because I boil water frequently to kill off any bit of bacteria that may be in my water.  Performance Works well, even if my cap is kind of broken. You just snap it back on and it works fine! Safety Generally safe. My other put something in the water boiler while water was in and boiling which changed the boiling point of the liquid. The liquid then gushed out. Luckily I wasn't nearby, because it could've caused a lot of burns. Ease of Cleaning I clean the calcium buildup with vinegar. I'm not sure that soap and water will do the trick. Design Cord could be longer.

My husband is an avid tea drinker (mostly iced) and I love the occasional pot of Earl Grey. As such, my search for the perfect water-boiler/tea maker was to satisfy several needs. Namely; quickly and easily brew up to a gallon of tea a day, not make a mess, and not burn any pans (or the house).First we used the Mr. Coffee iced tea maker, which we ended up going thru 2 sets because of inherant flaws: the plastic carafes eventually crack from the spout down and ill-fitting components inevitably lead to spilled tea/water.Then there was iced tea the old-fashioned way: boil tea bags in the saucepan. Forgetting to set the timer and/or not hearing it have led to 2 ruined pans, stinking up the kitchen, and a fear of burning the house down. This prompted the search for a kettle that would boil water and automatically shut off. After alot of reading and comparing I looked for a few key features:1. Auto shut-off after reaching a boil (not when empty- many shut off only as a boil-dry safety feature)2. Unexposed heating element, and a non-aluminum cover for the heating element.3. Lighted on-off indicator.4. Water level view window. The Braun WK200W Electric Water Kettle meets all of these requirements and more.It has a corded base unit that allows you to carry the kettle for filling and pouring. The auto shut off turns the kettle off after the water boils, or if you lift it off the base. The on-off switch is ingeniously at the top of the handle, so you don't have to fumble with the base unit. The kettle has a marked water level view window and on-off indicator light on both sides* *of the kettle so it's not only for right-handed people*.* A button opens the lid, which can be opened wider manually. However you don't have to open the lid to fill the kettle as the spout is big enough to easily fill it that way. The kettle boils water very fast, faster than a pot on the stove. It boils for a bit (haven't timed it, maybe 5-10 seconds?) then shuts off. The pour spout is fantastic and you can pour fast without any dribbles or splashes. The real beauty for me is that I am brewing tea in the kettle! I fill the kettle to 5-6 cup level, add 3 family size tea bags and press the on button. 5 minutes later I have a pot of very strong tea which I pour into my gallon carafe, add 1/3 cup sugar and cold water to fill, and voila: no mess no fuss very fast iced tea.I have been doing this since I bought the kettle (one month as of this writing), and so far no staining or discoloration inside the pot with the exception of the filter screen under the inside of the spout (designed to filter hard water chemicals). That filter screen is removable so I figure if desired I can bleach it. The cord can be wound and stored in the base unit, and 3 cord openings on base allow partial winding if you have a very close outlet and don't need all the cord length.I am absolutely thrilled with this water kettle and recommend it very highly.

Boils Water Quickly!

The Braun Electric Water Kettle boils water extremely fast! It is lightweight and easy to clean. It has a clear water level window so you always know how much water is in the kettle just with a quick glance. The automatic shutoff feature is great - all you have to do is to fill the kettle up to the 7 cup level and press the trigger on the handle and walk away, its that easy. You'll have 7 cups of boiling water within several minutes and it will turn off by itself. The best part of this kettle is that the container is separate from the heating element so that you can just remove the kettle away from the counter and not have to worry about the electric cord. Just bring the kettle to the dining table. I highly recommend this kettle!

I love my Braun Electric Water Kettle!

I know it sounds silly to say that I love a kitchen appliance, but I truly love my **Braun Electric Water Kettle! **I am a big tea drinker and after purchasing my kettle almost two years ago, I've used it almost twice daily since then and it shows no sign of stopping. The Braun Electric Water Kettle heats water so quickly that by the time I have put the water on to boil, I have just enough time to get my loose leaves into a tea ball and get a mug from the washer - and with the automatic shut-off, even if I miss the boiling point, I never have to worry about the water boiling away even if I get distracted. The shut-off feature is great - as is the volume of this kettle. The capacity is enough that I can easily speed up the pasta boiling process by getting a few inches of water started in a pot on the stove, fill the kettle and within two minutes it is as a full boil, I add it to the pot on the stove and I've got a boiling pot of water in less than three minutes! The lid is easy to pop up, so filling it up under the water faucet is easy, and since the kettle detaches from the base, I don't have to worry about dragging the plug all over the place. This kettle is completely wonderful and (god forbid!) it would break today, I'd be buying another one tonight!

Braun - a reliable brand

I have been using this Braun electric kettle for a few years now and is still serving me very well.  This kettle can boil a maximum of 7-cup water and on 1500W.    I like that this kettle heats water up very quickly.  It has auto shut off so I do not have to rush to turn it off like those whistling kettle.  There is also a light indicator so I know if the water is put to boil. The see through water gauge is fantastic as I can see how much water is left or if the kettle is empty. It is easy to fill water and the big push button making it easy to release the lid. This kettle sits on a separate heating element thus it is easy to bring the whole kettle of hot water around the house.  There is no coil in the kettle like some others making it easy to clean.  Recently I notice some rusty like deposits inside the kettle.  So once in a few days, I pour some vinegar and add some water and put it to boil. After that I just leave the boiled vinegar water and let it sit. After an hour or so, I throw away the vinegar water and the rust will disappear by then.  I do not know what causes the rust but I just do not want to keep drinking water boiled in this rusty deposit.

Got this over 5 yrs ago and still using it daily!!!

I first got this when I went off to college - that was over 5 years ago!  And where is it now?  It's in my first apartment after graduating from college!  This gadget is amazing.  Other people I know have commented how their electric kettles rust if extra/remaining water isn't poured out after each usage.  I leave water in there all the time, and reboil it with new water (i hate to waste) and it boils faster than a kettle would on a stove.  There's no rust at all, and the water that comes out piping hot does not have a "metal" taste that other electric and non-electric kettles may leave behind.  One of the best features of this kettle is that the kettle can be detached from the boiling "plate".  However, the one drawback is that the cord isn't too lengthy, so you may need to accommodate your kitchen appliances to fit this one comfortably amidst your other appliances and outlet sockets.  Another awesome feature is it's automatic shut off system.  As soon as the water boils, the kettle shuts off by itself.  You could be in another room and forget you had it on, and you don't have to worry about it over heating or burning the house down!  Amazing brand, amazing quality, and still working to this day.  I will never replace it until it breaks on me.  It's been over five years already!
