I lost count. They say that you totally forget about the pain after you see the baby. Well, I was overjoyed when I saw my firstborn, but I still hurt like you wouldn't believe. I am a cancer nurse and a lot of my cancer patients end up with pretty severe rectal pain due to mucositis. I would love to be able to hand this to those patients. It worked wonders. It is a numbing medication. Simply apply to the affected area, and it will be numb in a short period of time. It didn't take all the pain away for me, but I have stitches on the inside as well. Then I developed mastitis and intraductal yeast, but those will be whole different reviews! **My Viewpoint:** **Dibucaine 1% hemorrhoidal ointment** worked well for a tear after childbirth. It numbs the area quickly and I only needed to use a small amount for each application. I'm not sure on the price since it was given to me in the hospital, but I bet it's worth whatever it costs. I would definitely use this again if I had another tear or hemorrhoids in the future.
