Craftsman Steel Leaf Rake Tames Oak Leaves and Acorns

5

We live in an oak forest. Big oaks rain acorns and leaves down on us for weeks before the trees are bare.Craftsman Steel Leaf Rake is one of the best tools for dealing with the blizzard of oak products every fall. Its easy to use by adults. Children as young as eight years can use this rake effectively. It is a fine exercise tool for rowdy granchildren on their frequent visits. When the leaves are gone, this rake performs well in our feeding areas to gather feed fallen to the ground, or rake up used hay under the rabbit cages. The tines of the rake are springy and have a wide reach to quickly gather leaves, twigs and acorns. This makes the work go quickly so we can get on to more entertaining activities. The tines provide a pleasant chinging sound as they bounce along the ground. The handle is firmly attached to the  fan of tines and is easy to grip for a variety of hand sizes. Properly stored this rake will give years of good service. We've always counted on craftsman quality.

Good rake

While I trust the Craftsman name, I do not necessarily find this metal rake any better or worse than comparable metal rakes of other brands out there.  A metal rake is a metal rake.  That said, this metal rake does the job .  I have a yard full of maple trees and the fall, while pretty, makes a big mess of our yard.  This rake gets a lot of use in the fall, pulling large and small leaves out of bushes, landscaping, etc and to the curb.  I am happy overall with the performance.  It is wide and does a great job of grabbing and stabbing the leaves.  It doesn't seem to leave too many behind, so I don't have to make a bunch of passes to get them cleaned up.  It does, however, have the tine wobble like all other metal rakes.  It is merely a preference of metal vs. plastic which determines whether this aspect is bothersome or not.  It also can get a little clogged as the tines stab through the leaves.
