I spend a lot of time shopping online. And I buy a lot of shoes. And I am not always the most patient person in the world. Therefore, Zappos.com is a perfect website for me!
In terms of the site, navigation, and shopping cart process, Zappos is comparable to other ecommerce websites - although their "Larger Image and Alternate views" are fantastic. You really get a sense for what you are purchasing. However, what truly sets them apart is their selection and service. Others have mentioned it here and I cannot agree more.

My experience: A friend of mine who is a shoe hound was always talking about Zappos so when I was looking for a pair of Rocket Dog Fuzzy clogs and could not find them locally I turned to Zappos. The experience was absolutely awesome!

Zappos.com has to be one of the BEST online shopping retailers I have ever ordered from in my 15 years of online shopping.
Not only were the shoes I bought sold at a great price, the shipping was free, and when I had to call to make a change to my order, the customer service agent was probably one of the most helpful, nicest agents I have had in a long time.
He upgraded my order to over night shipping, just because I had to wait on the phone for a few minutes. I ordered the shoes on a Saturday night, and they were on my feet on Monday morning! It was truly amazing, and an outstanding example...

I have bought and retured no less than 25 pairs of shoes from Zappos. It's like having a shoe store in your own home.
I keep maybe 1 out of every 10 pairs I order, usually due to not fitting right. Since I am at home, I can try them on and wear them awhile around the house, unlike when you just walk to and fro in the shoe store. I can also try them on with different clothes to see how they look. The reviews are great and I usually heed the warning of them running too small/big, ect as I find they are right on.

Zappos.com has the most beautiful array of designer shoes. I think of them rather like an Amazon.com because they have such a big variety to pick from! The feature that I like the best is that you can view a pair of shoes from the right side/left side, front, back, with views of both shoes together and a single shoe. You get plenty of helpful information about the shoe features including the heel height.
I would think, if you can't find it at Zappos.com, you're not looking for the RIGHT shoe!

I've been shopping Zappos.com for a few years and have never been disappointed. I wear Vans slip-ons and they always have a large selection of prints and 90% of the time they have my size. I wear a very popular size, and find that most stores sell out quickly, so this is a nice option for me. Zappos now offers some nice handbags. I LOVE the seatbelt bags made by Harveys, and Zappos carries quite a few
I've had to make an exchange due to a show being a bit large and the exchange was almost effortless. I would certainly recommend this online store.
