TIVO is the best invention EVER!!!!!!!!It is my favorite possesion! Much easer and user friendly than the other DVRS.  I am reliant on my TIVO while at work and on the go!  I am  a busy person, an Every day computer user, and a woman who enjoys quality. I am a technology lover, a pet owner and expect good, fair service. I am not rich, but am technically savvy.I am a pc-and mac user.I am value conscious and am impressed with this product, and glad to have it. I am willing to pay for quality service. I am not  afraid of technology. I am budget conscious  and am  loving this product....

My Tivo knows me. There are certain shows I watch regularly. On occasion, the show has a 2 hour special. No problem, Tivo records it and I didn't have to do a thing. Its automatic. On occasion, a show plays at a different time, no problem, Tivo records it. It also has the option to put your shows in order of priority. If there is a conflict between shows, it will record the show that I have listed as higher in priority. My shows are there waiting for me so I can go out and live life. When I am ready to be a couch potato, its ready for me. I can search for movies, comedy, sci fi shows, anything...

I have four Tivos in my house and can't imagine living without one.  Everyone else has listed all the great features that the Tivo has, but no one has yet mentioned the 30-second jump feature.  It's a well-known "bug" that isn't documented anywhere in the Tivo literature, but if you ask any Tivo owner, he or she will tell you the 30-second jump is fantastic!  With one push of a button, you can jump 30 seconds forward on a recorded show (or a live show if you're watching the 30-minute cache).  It can get you through an endless commercial break in just moments.

I hate commercials.  They are taking over television, taking more time than the program.  Tivo releases you from this bondage.  By eliminating the commercials, this cuts the amount of running time of the program.

I Tivo-record cartoons for my grandchildren, National Geographic and Travel shows for me, nature shows for all of us; really I Tivo anything that looks interesting.  Then at our leisure we watch our selection, fast-forwarding through the commercials. 

But, if we ever do want to watch unrecorded TV, we are totally spoiled and ruined because we are constantly trying to speed through...

I have had my TiVo digital recorder for a few years now and I still love it!!  I think back to the days where I would tape things on the VCR (always a pain in the butt!) and laugh at how easy it is to use my TiVo.  I love its basic functions like recording shows and fastforwarding through commercials, but I also love how it takes recording up a notch with its other features.  Season pass is awesome.  It will record all the new episodes of my favorite shows without me having to remind it weekly.  I also like the TiVo suggestions, which is where it will look at what I like to watch and record...

My Tivo has allowed me to catch all of the great programs offered on TV. I have been a happy user since about 1999 when my daughter lived in Des Moines. She would call me during prime time every evening. I had previously videotaped the shows I would miss, but it would get so confusing.


We bought a Tivo when we got satellite service and I have been a great fan ever since. Now, I think my favorite feature is the Suggestions capability. During the presidential campaign, I would have missed many opportunities to record programs I would ultimately add to my nominee collection.

I discovered this when my life was at its bussiest. i was going to school and working a fultime job and had a girlfriend introduce me to tivo. I was missing all of my favorite shows until tivo entered the picture.Now there are all kinds of copies but i still swear by my tivo. The tivo has so much more to offer than just your cable providers dvr especially if you hook it up to your computer network. I have a tivo in every room and have networked them all together plus can order pizza on my tivo as well as play games, and videos on demand either rent them or own them, the there is the music channel...

This is the best purchase I have probably ever made in my life! First of all I got it half price from my satellite company for being a member for so long so I suggest to anyone to call their provider so they can see if they too can get a discount! I got this but I got the HD verrsion and I absolutely fell in love from the first moment on and I think this is the best! You can pause, record and fastforward TV shows ...you can pause live TV and rewind- you can store up to 200 hours (on mine, check with yours) and just save it as long as you want until you need to delete for more space, I always have...
