Love White Strips!

By

from Southfield, MI

Comments about Teeth Whitening Strips:

I have been using tooth whitening products for years. I've tried lots of different kinds of products and the white strips are definitely preferable to other forms. It is much easier to put a strip on your teeth than it is to paint or rub on other whitening products. The strips are much less cumbersome than the whitening trays.
Whitening strips have also come a long way in the last few years. They used to slip around a lot, now they've improved them so they really stay put.
I've used a few different brands of white strips, both store brands and national brands. My favorite would have to be Crest's newest white strips. They work quickly and are easy to put on. I know that they're effective because my dentist noticed that I was using a whitening product without me telling her first. She had given me a sample in the bag of dental goodies that she gives a way after a cleaning. I liked it so I went and purchased more.

Effectiveness
I definitely think white strips are the best way to whiten teeth outside of having it done in a dental office.

Convenience
White strips are very convenient. I put them on before I get in the shower and they're ready to come off when I'm don't getting ready.

Minimal Side Effects
I have never had any ill effects from using white strips. I have sensitive teeth and they have never caused me any issues.

Not my favorite thing to do

By

from TX

Comments about Teeth Whitening Strips:

I have tried many teeth whitening strips and had to experiment to find the right one for me. Either I would find one that was sensitive enough for my gums but did not whiten my teeth or I would find one that would irritate my gums and teeth but gave me results. I would recommend actually using the whitening boosters that you add to your toothpaste, they seem less abrasive and harsh and may take longer to see results but I like them better. Teeth whitening strips' main ingredient is mostly bleach and my gums cannot take contact with it. I had a dentist tell me years ago to take a cotton swab and dip in peroxide and apply to my teeth only, not the gums. That works for me. I let the peroxide foam up for about five to ten minutes before rinsing.

Effectiveness
Very few that I have found actually work, but have drawbacks.

Convenience
Not very easy to use.

Minimal Side Effects
The bleach seems to irritate my gums and either leave them white or red.

No Good

Comments about Teeth Whitening Strips:

I don't like these at all. I have tried many whitening strips in the past and still haven't found one that really works and taste good too. At first, it seems that the taste will be ok, but then you start to dread doing it and finally not doing it at all because you can't stand the taste and it's not worth it to me. To me its not worth the money. It would probably be more worth the money to go get the whitening professionly done. That would be worth the money and less of a lassle. There must be some products out there that works, but it's hard because you don't want to spend the money for something that doesnt work. And they are not cheep. Thats a problem too. If you spend that much money then you want it to atleast work and taste good. you want to feel good using it and not worry about the taste. Maybe they should make some that are flavored that might take the edge off. I might try that also.

Terrible!

By

Comments about Teeth Whitening Strips:

I spent a fortune on whitening strips and will never do it again. I was going on a cruise and I wanted to whiten my teeth. I have heard from different people that I should try the white strips in my home and that should work. I bought them and was all excited to start. The strips are sticky so be careful not to get them stuck to your nails. They are not very long so they only cover a few teeth on the top and on the bottom. You have to really get them in the cracks of your teeth if you want them to work properly. They are uncomfortable and you need to keep them in your mouth for 30 minutes. They always felt loose. When taking them off it felt like I was ripping them off my teeth. I didn't see no difference in the whitening after I used the whold box. I also noticed that my teeth were extreamly sensitive. On the box it told me to use sensitive toothpaste when using it. I prefer to use the gel whitening kits because you get better coverage and better results and half the time.

Not too bad

Comments about Teeth Whitening Strips:

I've tried both Crest Whitestrips and Listerine Whitening Strips and I have to say I greatly prefer the Listerine ones. My experience with the Crest was pretty negative....I dont really love the plasticy strips sitting in your mouth that you get the pleasure of pulling out after you're done - they get a bit gross and the taste of the whitening gel is strong and yucky enough that I always need to rinse my mouth out afterwards to get rid of both the gel residue and the taste....not exactly convenient to do 'anywhere' like the commercials would have you believe. I also would often get a lot of tooth sensitivity a day or two into using the Crest strips which was not fun at all nor did I continue using them to see how well they whitened because of that tooth pain. The listerine ones great advantage is that they essentially melt in your mouth. Sometimes they do this better than others (I think depending on how clean your mouth is to start with - it helps to brush right before you do them) but the taste is a bit more minty and tolerable than the whitestrips and you dont have to worry about pulling the gucky strips out afterwards so you really can use them on your way to work or whatever. They also do not cause me any of the tooh sensitivity that the Crest whitestrips do.

I wouldnt recomend it to be honest.

Comments about Teeth Whitening Strips:

These teeth whitening strips never stick to my mouth. when you put it on too high it burns your gums. i wouldn't recomend this product for people with sensitive teeth. i have sensitve teeth and it is painful to use these. i had difficulties whitening my teeth and it wasn't staying at all. i couldn't go through my entire pack of these strips because of these issues. i didn't enjoy this experience with these teeth whitening stripes and i will not be buying anymore at all. these are bleaching strips i believe, and they made my teeth even more sensitive than before. and it seemed to make it much weaker. these strips are hard to handle and are very fragil. although these are complications it did work some what well. it did whiten my teeth eventually and atleast it works but it's quite a hassle. i belive that if you have to the to adjust and can handle these problems this is the product for you. other wise do not buy it.

Too messy to put on

By

from Stevens Point, WI

Comments about Teeth Whitening Strips:

I have tried several tooth whitening products of which most have been the strip version.  I find them hard to remove from the packaging and even harder to put in place properly on your teeth.  Also they do not stay in place very well and shift around once put on the teeth.  Many times I don't feel that I have gotten the amount of time for whitening to my teeth from these strips because of these problems.  I would not recommend them to any one.

They do work

By

from Richmond, VA

Comments about Teeth Whitening Strips:

I bought these generic Teeth Whitening strips from from a local super center. When I purchased them I was very sceptical but was proved wrong within the first few days. I started seeing results like the third time that I used the strips. I followed the directions to a "T" to make sure I gave the product a fair chance. The strips are gooey and gross when they're in your mouth, I'll be honest. They are hard to keep in place since they don't "stick" quite as well as they advertise. However, I think that the yuck that these strips require you to put up with is absolutely worth it. I only wanted my teeth to be a couple shades lighter so I did not follow through with the full possible potential of the strips. That way of doing it works for me though since the package states that you teeth will return to their original color after a period of not using the strips. Now my package will last for a while longer. Over all, good product.
