Comments about Tappan Gas Range:
While it is not the range I wanted it will do for the time being. The metal feels real cheap and every time something touches it clangs real loud. When using the oven there is such a loud ringing until it reaches the proper temperature. It is so ear piercing my son has to leave the kitchen until it is gone. The flame does not get as high as my previous range so it takes longer to boil a pot of water. The burners are not the best size for large cooking. When I try to have two large pots or pans on the burners at the same time they push each other off so they are not over the heat directly. That makes me have to rotate the food around continuously so that half of it doesn't burn while the other side is trying to cook. Anything that boils over is a major pain to clean. Even the water from boiling potatoes becomes a "muscle" job to clean up. The inside is even harder to clean. Because it is not a self cleaning oven I have to spray it with and oven cleaner, wait over night and really scrub in the morning. Sometimes I have to repeat this process and I'm talking for little spill overs and splatters, I can hardley wait for large spills. I have only had the oven for about 4 months but sadly it seems a lot longer. If economic times were not what they are I would have definitely purchased another range and can't wait until I can.
