Most HelpfulSparkspeople.com is the best on-line weight loss community available, in my opinion. This weight loss site is practical, fun, full of resources, and it is user-friendly.
How the Spark Began
The idea behind Sparkspeople came from one man's dream to lose weight and take control over his life. He took the...

Most HelpfulWhen I had kids, I gained weight. It seemed like if I even looked at something the wrong way I would put on 10 pounds. After the birth of my second, I found myself gaining 20 pounds on TOP of the baby weight. I was terrified.
I tried WeightWatchers. I tried diet pills. I tried everything, but SparksPeople...
review »I sat up one night feeling down and depressed back on January 07. I had just lost my baby girl at 16 wks pregnant and of course we were devastated and I just didnt care about myself any more even though I still had 2 angels who needed me.
I was up at about 2am on January 8th 2007 and while trying to find a way to get help free I came across SPARKSPEOPLE.COM. I believ in the Lord and I believe he led me to this site on that morning. I am now 40lb lighter, I look at myself in the mirror now and don't hate myself I love me and I just look at the areas I need to work harder on but with a smile. My...
review »I started out skeptical about whether an online weight loss program could actually be free, but I went to the website and was moved to tears to hear that there really was someone out there who invested his own money into providing a comprehensive program absolutely free.
I joined in November of 2007, after having lost 75 pounds on Weight Watchers (another program that I really enjoyed). I have not lost more weight since that point (I've got about 50 pounds more to lose) but I have come to accept that my body is currently adjusting to the tremendous weight loss I've accomplished. So, even as I cannot...
review »SparkPeople is a great resource for anyone who is changing their eating lifestyle. Some of the resources are; nutrition database, exercise video clips, tips, and resources.
Each member gets to take a profile survey too see where they are for their health needs. You then set up your own Spark Page Profile. As a member you learn to become accountable for your calories, exercise and nutrition.
SparkPeople also has a great recipe database! This helps you with all your lifestyle needs. You can sign up for emails, and join groups/communities with select areas of interest.
I highly recommend this site...
review »I first joined Sparkpeople.com in March and it was one of the best decisions I have made this year. I looked at a few other online dieting websites but decided that Sparkpeople had everything I needed. It is a highly individualized and customizable website for anyone looking to gain, lose or maintain weight. I will try to point out some of the features but there are so many good points that I am bound to miss, so you really need to see it for yourself.
I found SparkPeople.com several weeks ago through another site called MyPoints.com (which I would also encourage you to check out if you're into completing free offers and surveys for prizes!). I am so so glad that I took the time to look into it!
SparkPeople is 100% FREE. That's right. No hidden fees or catches. You have unlimited access to all the health and nutrition articles (and there are LOADS of them), exercise videos and workout plans/instructions, and the nutrition and fitness trackers.
So far, the people I have interacted with are very friendly and willing to give advice on getting started...
review »I joined Spark People through the MyPoints program, and viewed it as easy points, plus something to help me with my diet. What I found was a great community with the goal of helping me be the healthiest I can be.
Every day in my email I get at least three emails from Spark People. If you think that's overkill, the nice feature is you decide what emails you want from them. You get points for every email you read, plus they include articles you can click to read through, polls to take, recipes, exercises, and profiles of members.
The points system is fun, and even though it's mostly for status,...
