I was given the "Eggstractor" (an as seen on TV) item by a friend. The idea being that it would help me during my egg peeling for countless deviled eggs during the holidays. While I appreciate the thought, I would have been less frazzled had she never given this to me. According to the directions you must boil the eggs and then immediatley place the eggs into a ice cold bath of water for 10 minutes. Once complete, you pierce the small end tip with the sharp point on the base og the "eggstractor" and then break the other end on the counter. Now you are ready to let the "eggstractor" take off the egg shell simply and easily. Ugh...yeah...no so easy! I did everything the directions said to do and then placed the egg with the small end up on the little three legged base provided. Now I was instructed to place the accordian type of plunger over the egg on the base and quickly thrust my overlaping hands down hard over the egg. The egg is supposed to fall out of the hole with the shell removed. I couldn't even push down on the plunger! It was hard! So now I realized that this wasn't gonna work and had to resort to peeling 2 dozen eggs like I normally would have. Because I had soaked them in ice cold water the shells shrunk and I had a terrible time getting the shells off. I mean, I had to buy another dozen eggs just so I could have decent looking deviled eggs at Thanksgiving dinner!  This "as seen on TV" item is a total waste of time and especially money!
