My 2 year old, like many others, hates taking medicine. But with this particular one, she actually looks forward to taking it and after exclaims "Mmm...delicious!" Needless to say I was blown away at the fact that it actually tastes good and works quickly. Finally a medicine I can count on that is safe.

My family each in their own way suffers from seasonal allergies and sure, a cough can be productive but when it's not you will do just about anything to make it stop so that you and your kids can get a good night's sleep.  I didn't want to use anything with lots of dyes or chemicals I don't need just to help break up the mucus and relieve their cough so I turned to **Similasan Kids 2-12 Cold and Mucus Relief Cough Expectorant Syrup 4 oz. ** **What do I like about **Similasan Kids 2-12 Cold and Mucus Relief Cough Expectorant Syrup 4 oz? **** - all natural ingredients - no dyes or coloring  - must taste pretty good my 4 yr old takes it without a problem  - really cool spoon that is just the right size for each dose you need.  - good for children from 2-12 - covers all the ages I need it to - It works!  **What I don't like about **Similasan Kids 2-12 Cold and Mucus Relief Cough Expectorant Syrup 4 oz**** - I don't know why but one of my children just won't take it says it taste bad - but she says that about every medicine.  - The bottle pour - it's actually a good thing but takes some time to get used to. It has a stopper like on a liquor bottle.  It seems to be working. I have been giving my daughters **Similasan Kids 2-12 Cold and Mucus Relief Cough Expectorant Syrup 4 oz **on days when their cough is especially bad and not doing any work to break up the congestion.  It helps them sleep through the night without using drugs - but by simply providing relief from those nasty hacking coughs.  Congestion Relief Works on my young daughter's sinus congestion. Chest Congestion Relief A few more doses works on the mucus in the chest congestion. Relief of Aches & Pains Not made for aches and pains. Cough Suppression Which also helps fight a sore throat from coughing.

I purchased Similasan Kids Cold and Mucus Relief medicine from a drugstore that offered a great promotion on the product.  I essentially purchased it for free after rebates.  I didn't have a sick child but thought it would be a great item to have on hand for when my kids do get sick.  My 2 year old was the first one to try out this medicine.  I was happy to have the medicine on hand and even more happier to see that it was safe to use on a child this young.  I read the ingredients in the medicine and was even more pleased to see that the medicine was full of natural ingredients.  Because of this, I was less concerned about any adverse problems with using this medicine.  This medicine is mild and won't cure a cold or cough.  But I feel like the medicine did help soothe my child's cough.  I love that the medicine is clear.  It has a very sweet honey taste so my kids gladly take it.  My toddler even asks for more medicine even though she is no longer sick.  I will continue to use this medicine when my kids are sick and feel good that it is a safe and natural remedy for colds and coughs.

I don't know about you, but giving my toddler dyes and chemicals just doesn't sit well with me.  I'm not an alarmist, almost never take my kiddo to the doctor, and I'm okay with him playing in the dirt. That being said, when he came down with a cough and a little chest congestion, the last thing I want is for him to suffer.  I'm from the school of thought of 'the fewer chemicals the better' so I was relieved when I found Similasan Cold and Mucus Relief. It's free from dyes, sugar, alcohol, and chemicals.  100% natural. And it must taste pretty good as it went down the hatch with no drama. After 3 uses, the chest congestion was completely cleared up and the cough was greatly diminished. The cap takes little bit of getting used to.  The first time I used it, I poured it all over the cabinet.  I do appreciate that it comes with a double-ended dosing spoon.  One end is for ages 2-12, the other end is for 12+.   Overall, it seems to be a quality product that I'm comfortable giving my toddler. There aren't many products that are safe for kids as young as 2.

My kids suffer from horrible allergies that cause a nasty post nasal drip and thus a cough.  Their regular cough syrup, though it works good, wasn't cutting the mucus or helping to expell it. I purchased this on a whim and decided to try it. The first thing that impressed us was the taste. It has a very mild flavor, is clear (free of dyes, which I really appreciate) and tastes kind of like honey.  I looked at the ingredients and found that it is all natural. It was nice that my 8 year old could pronounce all of the ingredients in her cough syrup.  We gave the kids a dose of it (both were coughing) and within a short time the cough had subsided and when they did cough it was a productive cough as the expectorant began to work.  The only draw back of this was that it doesn't last 12 hours like the Delsym I typically use. However, during the day when I can give my kids medication more frequently (I hate to wake them to give them more at night) it works well.  This wouldn't work for a terrible cough but it works wonderfully for those times when the cough isn't caused by an illness so much as allergies.
