I purchased the Instince because I wanted something close to the iPhone but of course Sprint doesn't offer the iPhone. It's ridiculous that carriers restrict you to only their products because in the UK you can purchase any equipment you want and then take it to the carrier you want and hook it up.

I really wanted the new Google Android but of course Sprint won't have that for a while either. So I settled on this one. I was most concerned with whether or not it was java enabled. The sales person said it was but they are not knowledgeable and it reads javascript, but is NOT java enabled. Big difference. So, half the things I want to do with the phone are not possible.

The phone has some nice features, but doesn't have many options for a carrying case or anything to protect it. They have a case and then they sell you some crappy screen protectors that work like a sticker and scratch terribly after the tiniest touch. So now my phone is scratched up and ugly.

I can't use Google Street View, which sucks. It's not java enabled so other cool sites like that don't work either. Sometimes the screen locks up and I have to shut it off and back on to get it to reset. The keyboard is a little challenging to get right. It's a touch screen and I almost never hit the right keys as I'm typing.

It works with Gmail, but I can't use all the functions availble in gmail like labeling my messages, starring them, etc. I can only read, mark unread, and delete. Oh, and reply and forward.

The GPS is pretty cool, and the voicemail feature is pretty sweet. Everything sucks battery power like crazy though so it's important to have the backup battery and a car charger to keep it going between home and work. By the way, don't buy the WAY overpriced $30 charger from Sprint because they have the same thing on eBay for way cheaper.

All in all, it's good for now but I can't wait until something better comes along.
