Excellent, efficient, toner-conscious printer.
I have had this printer for about four months and so far it has treated me wonderfully. The job it does in both color and b&w is crisp, clean, and very professional looking. As a student, I print a ton of text documents. I'd wager that in just four months I have printed about a ream of paper...500 pages. Currently the printer says it is about 1/3 of the way through its black toner cartridge (it has a status bar you can easily access through the system tray-another pro), so 1,500k pages is about accurate. I have only encountered two issues with the printer, the first on setup and the second ongoing. On setup I had a difficult time getting the paper tray set to a normal 8.5x11 paper size. It definitely created some frustration as the instructions were lacking in this, but with patience I availed, and it holds about half a ream at a time, so I don't have to fiddle with it often. I haven't tried changing the size to an envelope or anything else yet...I'm honestly a little scared. My second issue is that it cannot automatically print double-sided. Manual wouldn't be too much of a chore, except that Microsoft Word 2010 handles manual 2-sided printing about as well as a nervous chihuahua would handle doing brain surgery with a pipe wrench. Between the two of them I have wasted no small amount of paper trying to print double-sided. *However*, this is far more Word's fault than it is the printer's. Lots of printers can't do automatic double-sided printing, and it should not be faulted for Microsoft's lame print settings. That being said, if you find a screaming deal on this printer like I did, buy it and don't look back. I couldn't be happier with it. Oh, and it has never jammed. Note: Some reviewers have expressed difficulty setting up wireless printing. I use my desktop as a shared print server and thus have not tried this myself.
