I love to cook, but I want something different. How do I do that? Why is the chicken always tough? I certainly would just love to be able to cook better!
I know how to cook. I learned from my grandmother, my mother, mother-in-law, and many other people in my life. I started my cooking career at the age of seventeen, when I went to work at a family run restaurant, where I met my husband. Later, we bought the business and I ran the restaurant myself, making changes in the menu to more homestyle cooking. My husband and family give me more praise than I deserve when it comes to preparing their favorite dish.
About a year ago I ordered a pan amazon and with it came a free trial to roube.com. Rouxbe is a cooking school website, with tons of information, mostly in videos. I loved it so much, I became a life member. Did you know if you heat the pan properly, that stainless steel cooks really well? Did you know that you don’t need to cover the pot as much as you thought? I have learned so much more from Rouxbe than I could have ever learned on my own.
Check out the Chicken Parmigianna. It’s probably most talked about recipe on the site. The techniques I learned for preparing the chicken, and the basic tomato sauce makes it easy, and it’s all from scratch. I love to eat good food. However, good food does not have to be time consuming. I am on the go with 5 children (ages 1-12) full time, a toddler half the time and a baby for daycare. I cannot afford to be tied to the kitchen.
