This was my Wedding wine!

I loved this wine so much that I served it at my wedding (on a cruise ship) and gave bottles out as "thank you for coming" gifts.  It truly is a great wine for the price (under $10 a bottle).  I had special labels made to put on the bottles at our wedding for people to take home, and for the bottles we served at dinner.  I can't tell you how many people loved it and asked what it was so that they could go purchase more!!!!

After such an enjoyable experience with the Vintners Blend Zinfandel (and reading that Libby is going to visit the winery), when I came across Ravenswood Vintners Blend Merlot I didn't hesitate to pick-up a bottle.

"No Wimpy Wines" is the slogan of Ravenswood Winery. They have built their reputation on big, hand-crafted wines that should be aged seven to ten years before reaching their prime. This is a great bottle of wine with a great strong bodied taste. It has aged well for many years. This is the bottle that you should save up for when giving a dinner, reception, or party. Not only that, the Ravenswood name brand is a mark of quality and shows clear, high quality taste when giving a party for superiors at a firm.

Although the Merlot is my personal favorite, you can't go wrong with Ravenswood wine.  It is an affordable wine masquerading as a fine wine.  It has a complicated, yet mild aroma and taste.

Ravenswood is best known for its Zins so it may surprise some just how good this Merlot is.  It is a warm inviting color in the glass and the nose oozes with fruit.  Swirl it in the glass to release its wonderful nose and watch it glide down the side ofthe glass.  Ah, but the taste.  Smooth, fruity with just the right touch of tannin. This is a silky yummy Merlot.   It is perfect for your steak dinner tonight and would go nicely with spinach salad.  This 1999 Vintners Blend is a frequent visitor to our table because it is a quality sip at a very sensible price.  This Sonoma winery produces... review »

This is a very good red wine for the price.  I highly recommend this when having a prime rib or steak. I have had many reds from WA and CA and also France.  This particular one is not too oaky and has an excellent finish.  I let it breathe for about 15 minutes. It was served with a 'no peaky' orime rib. Although I drink Chardonnays on a regular basis and my husband does not really care for red wine, he enjoyed this and we finished the bottle together.

Ravenswood is always a good bet.

Ravenswood Cabernet is a good value. Full bodied and tasty.. it's a great crowd pleaser. It is best served with steak but also works with salmon and poultry. I have served it at work and have bought it for myself. A little on the chewy side, but I really like red wine.
