These are the best tongs I've got, I use them for everything, I use them when I use my indoor grill, I use them when frying foods. These tongs can do anything and the best thing is they never slip so you aren't in the middle of frying something really hot and then the tongs quit working and slip so the food falls down and you're burnt now, these absolutely never do that, ever! The ends don't get hot either like most other tongs you have to do your job super quick so you won't get burnt from the heat travelling up but it just doesn't happen with these the rubber ends prevents that from happening. I love the locking handles they make storage of these tongs so simple, I hate trying to get other tongs to fit into my utensil drawer, I had to rearrange it every time just to get them to fit properly, but not with these they stay locked firmly in place. The spring in these is perfect, it allows you to easily grip things without having to hold very tightly and possibly ruining the food. Ease of Cleaning Very easy to clean, you can just stick these right into the dishwasher and let it do it's job really simple nothing to it. Durability These tongs are super durable, they can do so much. They will take on any job, and stay in perfect working order every time. Design Great design I love how they have rubber grips on the end for ease of handling, and to prevent heat getting to your hands. Also, the locking mechanism is great and so convenient!

This is a great product, it is easy to use and is very helpful. It can be used for serving, for flipping food on the barbecue, for tossing pasta in a sauce, pretty much anything. It keeps you hands away from the heat and safe from burns. It locks shut easily for storage and the grip makes it comfortable in your hand.

The Oxo tongs have several features that set them apart. As with most Oxo products, ergonomics are the key focus... and these tongs are no different. I own a few of these and often use two at a time. Ease of Cleaning Cleaning seems fairly straight forward... most of the cleaning will be focused on the tips. There is a hinge and the "channel" that makes up the handle that (I suppose) could present a challenge if a particularly messy substance was to make it's way up the handle that far. Overall, I have rarely needed to more than to rinse, with perhaps some light scrubbing with a sponge. When more than that is needed, then the dishwasher makes quick work of the job. Durability I have a few of these and have never had one fail. The spring on the hinge is still springy, and the rubber parts have held up well. The rubber on the release pin that locks the tongs close can get a little chewed up around the hole if you hang them on a hook and remove/replace them often... but it does not effect functionality. The stainless steel components show no signs of rust, as some cheaper brands I have tried were prone to. Design I use these all the time... often two at a time. They are easy to lock and unlock (though sometimes ungracefully with my teeth) and they spread wide enough for comfortable use, but not too wide as to require two hands to reign them in. The spring is a comfortable tension, allowing snappy handling with ease. The ends are shaped perfectly to act like large scalloped spoons, perfect for gripping an array of foods with the dexterity needed for nearly any job. The rubber grips keep my hands from slipping on the handle... a problem that could easily result in having a finger pinched as I have had happen on some of the cheaper tongs.

We use these tongs as our primary kitchen tongs and think they're good. Ease of Cleaning I'm not sure if they are dishwasher safe. We put them in the dishwasher sometimes, as they are not the easiest to clean by hand. The grooves in the metal means food could be stuck in there sometimes. Durability Seem very sturdy. Ours melted a little bit at the end when using with a grill, so be careful about that. They probably aren't good for grilling, but we've never had a problem with kitchen cooking. Design This is where these tongs excel. Easy to use and you can unlock them one handed (just push the end agains something). Too bad you can't lock them with one hand very easily, though.

My entire family loves to cook. We grill, bake, design gourmet meals of all kinds, and preserve a lot too. One of the items that we find very useful in the kitchen is tongs. We have been through several sets of tongs. They are often too big, too hard to store, or just not quite what we are looking for. That all changed when we found the Good Grips Stainless Steel Locking Tongs. With a nice black grip cushioned handle on the top of the tongs, these have great spring to them. On top there is a black hole which you can hang the tongs from. Pressing down or pulling up on the black tab will either make the tongs spring open or lock shut. They stay that way until you move the tab. Ease of Cleaning These tongs are very easy to clean, although I hand wash them, despite them being declared as being dishwasher safe. I have not had any problems with food staining or not coming off. Durability We have had these tongs for several years now and use them constantly for all types of things from boiling water extraction of things to turning them around in cooking oil. The tab still works beautifully and the spring is still strong. Design Barely a day goes by that my husband or someone in the house comments on how much they love the Good Grips Stainless Steel Locking Tongs. They are easy to use, just the right size, they lock in place well and they are easy to store too. They are comfortable to use too.

I have several OXO Good Grips products and I must say, I love them all! In addition to my meat tenderizer and my pizza cutter, my stainless steel tongs are my favorite! Like all products in OXO's Good Grips line, **OXO Good Grips 9-Inch Stainless Steel Locking Tongs** have a soft, black rubber handle that is really comfortable to hold. For these tongs, the black grip area runs along the bottom of the tongs where you hold them. There is also the locking mechanism, which you simply pull out or push in to use. It doesn't actually "lock", but they do stay in place when you pull the tab out. The stainless steel tongs have scalloped edges so they can easily pick up what you need them to. When these are dirty, I simply throw them in the dishwasher and they come out clean. I've had these for years and they still work perfectly. I honestly love everything about my **OXO Good Grips 9-Inch Stainless Steel Tongs**. I would definitely recommend them and everything else in the OXO Good Grips line of products. I think every kitchen should have some!

We recently purchased a number of Oxo Good Grips items for our house to replace old, cheap kitchen gadgets and I must say that I love them all. Part of that purchase was the Oxo Good Grips 9-inch Stainless-Steel Locking Tongs. This item has been a wonderful addition to our kitchen. What do I love about them? For starters, they feel high quality compared to our old tongs. They lock in the closed position which makes storing them very easy as they take up little space. When opened, they are very easy to open and close and they grip the food very well. Our old tongs didn't open and close very well and we dropped food fairly often. Not so with these! Clean up is easy. Just rinse them off and dry them and they're ready for storage.

I recently received a fine assortment of OXO Good Grip Utensils (14 to be exact). Included among the assortment was the Oxo Good Grips 9 inch Stainless Steel Locking Tongs. I added this to the one to the 6 inch and the 9 inch one I already have. What distinguishes this 9 inch Locking Tongs from my other one is this one has the tips of the tongs coated in heat resistant silicone, which makes it a dream to use on non-stick cookware. I often fry bite-sized chicken chunks in my non-stick electric skillet. Now I don't have to worry about scratching the interior coating with metal tongs, or be afraid that the oil will melt the plastic utensil I am using. I frequently use all three of OXO Locking Tongs and thus they have earned a coveted place on the counter in my OXO Stainless Steel Utensil Caddy. The more products I get from OXO, the more I want to buy. It is like an addiction. They just seem to do everything better than regular tools and the locking tongs are no exception!

**Similar to my review on the 12"...yes I have both! And use both all the time!** These are so great because they lock closed when not in use, meaning you can store them easily in your drawer or counter crock. Then, this short size is great when you need the leverage of being up close to your food. I also love that they are dishwasher safe. Well, I assume they are since I have been washing them in our dishwasher for years. Yes, I have had these for years, and they look good as new. Great gift for a wedding if on the registry and you like to buy practical things that will actually get used and not cause storage headaches. Also a great gift for that mom who only has junky utensils since she never buys anything for herself. The silver and black design goes well with most kitchen decor. The coating on the handles is a very good non-slick. You really need a pair in each size because they serve different purposes (you'll see) and are both so great.
