I am a 47 year old female and was on dialysis for about a year before getting a kidney transplant. While on dialysis my hair started coming out and I could see it was thinning at my part. Someone told me about Nioxin products so I bought the whole package with the shampoo, conditioner and another product to put drops directly on my scalp. First of all I could hardly stand the medicinal smell. It was so strong it made my eyes water. I used the products for a few months. I did notice a little less hair falling out, but I didn't see new hair growth, and the smell was just more than I could smell. I got sick easily anyway and the smell would make me feel physically ill. I would have continued to use the product, even though the smell was so bad, because I WAS losing less hair but I got a kidney transplant and don't have the thinning problem now as I did before. If you can stand a very medicinal smell while washing your hair, and even after it is dried, it does seem to help with thinning hair and is definitely worth a try.

I have extremely thin hair, so thin you can see areas of my scalp. My mom suggested I try Nioxin because she had heard it was great for thinning hair. The shampoo and conditioner have started thickening up my hair. The thickening gel is another amazing product. You can rub it into your scalp and hair, it gives fullness to the hair you have and stimulizes your scalp which helps new hair growth. Effectiveness I have used this product for a couple years and it has really improved my hairs overall condition and thickness. Another great benefit of Nioxin is that you can feel it working. When you rub it into your scalp you can feel an amazing tingling sensation, it is the only shampoo I know of that you can actually feel working. Scent The scent is awesome! As soon as you open the bottle you can smell the mint...it leaves your hair smelling extremely fresh. The minty smell is not overwhelming at all, it is just enough to smell beautifully clean.

While I have a great deal of respect for this line, and find that there are many, including myself that find that it really does work, unfortunately It is just too drying for my color treated hair. Even when I use the product specified for color treated hair, it really dries it out. I have done the "sink test", where Nioxin gives you a strainer to put in your tub drain to see how much hair you are losing before, during, and after using it, and it really does work. I began losing drastically less hair. But the ends of my hair just get parched with this product. I LOVE the fragrance, it is invigorating in the morning and the mint smell seems to help you wake up/liven up in the morning. I love the tingling sensation it gives to your scalp. Unfortunately, the spray that they give you turns the skin around the perimeter of my scalp bright red, so one can develop irritation from it. It is hard to keep it from dripping onto the face and you end up with an ugly red spot that looks like exzema. But it does fade after an hour or so. I would hate to even think about it getting into the eyes. Overall, this is a great product that really works well if you have minor chemical damage to the hair, otherwise, it is too drying.

I recieved the Nioxin 5 cleansing system as part of a BzzAgent Word of Mouth Marketing sample kit. To be honest, prior to starting this campaign, I had never heard of this brand, but am glad to have tried it! The shampoo contains menthol, which leaves the scalp cool and tingly.  During the warm summer months, this is a great feature. After only one use, my hair felt softer and my scalp wasn't so dry.  I have very sensitive skin and didn't have any problems using the Nioxin line. The bottles are also designed to be used by slippery hands, another plus. Highly recommended.

Okay now, have you ever gotten your hair relaxed and the hairdresser ruined your hair and you about lost it all? Do you bleach your hair so much it falls out? Have you ever messed up a perm and you became bald? Well to be honest, it might take a while, but this is the best product to use to grow hair. Nioxin Hair Products work best.My mother had been going to a salon with this one lady for years. And my mom's hair is crazy curly. Well apparently the lady didn't know how to relax hair correctly and my mom lost 60% of her hair! We stayed at the same place and the lady got fired and now our new hair dresser is amazing. She had shown me Empire (I wrote a review about it.) and now I love it there.  Well when my mom lost all her hair pretty much, she was introduced to Nioxin. She didn't believe it would work or anything.Well instantly she satrted seeing growth, and fast! Within a few months it was getting longer. After abut a year her whole head of hair was back. I was suprised! I didn't think it would work that well. So in our salon we tend to promote usage of it with people who have thinning hair.
