As someone who suffers from multiple sclerosis, clumsiness has simply become a fact of life.  I can be going through my day fairly normally, and--without warning--suddenly drop something, bump into something, or have a close encounter with a sharp object.  I make a conscious effort to build safeguards into my daily tasks, but when the klutz in me prevails, I'm glad that I have boxes of **3M Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages** all around my house.

With all due respect to the Bandaid brand, Nexcare bandages provide the flexibility and comfort I need to patch myself up.  I buy the assorted pack so that I've got a size and shape ready for any mishap.  No matter the size, each Nexcare Comfort Fabric bandage has a patented "Island Pad"--a 360-degree seal of adhesive that fully blocks out dirt and germs.  Basically, this little pad of protection keeps the germs out while the wound is healing.

In addition to the superior sealing action, the diamond-shaped fabric is breathable and conforms to wherever I need to put it.  Fingers, elbow, chin--or any other hard to fit area--are no longer a problem because of the assorted sizes and flexible fabric.

Overall, I realize that **3M Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages** may not exactly be a household name like that other well-known bandage brand, but if I buy enough of them, perhaps some day it will be.

Poorly Designed and Not A Good Value, Even If On Sale

I cut my fingers a lot at work and need to keep the cuts covered because I work with a lot of grease and oil and don’t want the cuts to get infected. I used Band-Aid brand bandages for my entire life (that’s nearly 60 years folks) and I had no problem with them at all. But I found these Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages on sale one day, and they are shaped perfectly for cuts on your fingers, so I figured I’d give them a try since times are tough and things are so expensive these days, why not try something cheaper. Well, I’ll tell you why not – sometimes cheaper is not only about cheaper price. Sometimes cheaper is about lower quality.

There must be a good reason they were on sale at such a low price, and my guess is maybe the product isn’t selling as well as the manufacturer hoped and that is why they put it on sale.

I had two problems using this product. First, they didn’t stay on long. They come off within a few hours. So I had to change them at least 3 times during the work day and that got even more expensive. Having to change them so many times because they were falling off, they were more expensive per day to use than full priced Band-Aid brand.

Also, the design is, in my opinion, faulty. The pad is relatively small. It didn’t cover the cuts as well as other brands. I realize they wanted to make the pads small so that there was adhesive on all four sides of the bandage and pad (they call this the 360 degree seal), but this makes it less useful for larger cuts when comparing the size bandage you are using. And since I am a man with big fingers I need a larger pad to cover the big cuts I get, but still I prefer the special bandages made for cuts on fingers.

I do not recommend this product. I prefer Band-Aid brand at regular prices.

Best bandaids

By

from Norcross, GA

Comments about Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages:

These are, by far, some of the best bandaids I have ever used. I have a tendency to get blisters on the back of my feet and its always so difficult to find bandaids that will stay in place. But these are so flexible and they stay on so much longer than any other bandaids I have used in the past.

Unfortunately, they are a bit more expensive than some other bandaids, but in the long run you get what you pay for and here you are getting quality bandaids. I like that they come in a variety of sizes so that I don't have to buy so many boxes at one time. I also like that the shape ensures that there is a seal around the wound rather than a leave open a space for bacteria, dirt, and other stuff to enter in through.

Nexcare Comfort strips live up to their name!

By

from Dallastown, PA

Comments about Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages:

Nexcare Comfort Strips are just that...comfortable. They aren't scratchy like some cheap bandages. They are soft and durable. I like that they also seal your cut so that they keep the dirt away from your injury. These bandages stay put when you put them on too. The only complaint I have is that you have to be careful not to get any ointment near them when you are putting them on because they will NOT stick to your skin at all then, but that is true of almost all bandages. All-in-all, I love these bandages. They are my number one choice when buying a bandage for my family.

My new favorite bandage

By

from North Haven, CT

Comments about Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages:

I used to think that I was brand loyal to Band-Aid.  Then I had some coupons that made the Nexcare bandages very inexpensive, so I decided to give them a try (Strawberry Shortcake design for my daughter).  It took me a while to open the box, but when I did, I wished I had started using them earlier!  I have a 2-year old who not only gets cuts and scrapes often, but has an affinity towards bandages.  But when she does have a cut, this is my favorite bandage to use because it seals all the way around!  This is the only kind of bandage I will use on her now and I would recommend this to anyone, especially those with children.  Kids manage to get dirt and other grime in their bandages all the time, but with this seal that goes all the way around, the dirt and grime doesn't get in!  Which in turn, helps to keep the cuts from getting infected.  The seal all the way around the bandage was the best idea ever!  Thank you!

Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages

By

from Garretson, SD

Comments about Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages:

Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages have all the other bandages beat hands down!!  These are absolutely the BEST bandages I have ever found!  I have very active kids who need bandages on a regular basis and once I tried these I won't buy anything else!  These bandages are flexible, they stay on once you put them on and they come in assorted sizes including waterproof so there is a bandage for every owie!  I have found that with a coupon and they are occasionlly on sale, they are about the same price, if not a little cheaper than some of the other brands.  Even when I have had to pay full price for them they are so worth it when they stay on a cut and keep it clean so it will heal!  I would highly recommend every mom or care giver or anyone who cares for kids stocking up on these before summer so that when your kids get hurt you have them on hand!  They are a great product and one I would not be without!!

Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages do a nice job.

By

from North Tonawanda, NY

Comments about Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages:

I am a fan of Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages for many reasons. I found that they work really well. They provide 360 degrees of coverage. Luckily when you use these bandages you do not have to worry about dirt and germs getting under the bandage and into your injury. They are soft, breathable, and flex for your like the label promises. They are also latex free which means those of us with a latex allergy can still use these bandages. I have found that these bandages stay on longer than other brands.

I find them to be a good value. I paid less for these than I would have paid for a store brand package. They come in a pack containing 35 assorted sizes. The pack has 25 rectangular bandages and 10 spot bandages. You can use them for different types of injuries.

They are made in the U.S.A. by 3M which is a dependable company that has a great reputation. Because of this ou can feel comfortable buying these for your family

Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages are fun to use

By

from Saint Paul, MN

Comments about Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages:

Nexcare Comfort Fabric bandages (in the "Brights" colors) are fun to use and the colors are very festive.  These bandages are everything they claim to be and made by a reputable company - 3M.  They are soft, flexible, breathable, and easy to apply & remove.  They are latex free and good for people with sensitive skin.  Really, anyone who needs a bandage has sensitive skin, so these are the bandages to use.  Nexcare has a bandage for all ages, which makes it special to buy different kinds for different people.  These bandages are shaped to form a sufficient seal all the way around the bandage pad to adhere to the skin and lock out harmful dirt and germs.  These bandages stay on my skin all day long and are easy to remove without the pain of other bandages.  The comfort fabric really is comfortable and flexes with the movement of my skin.  I like that the packaging is recycleable and is made from recycled materials.

Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages Stay in Place and Protect Better

By

from Houston, TX

Comments about Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages:

Minor cuts and scrapes should be tended to as quickly as possible. Cleaning comes first, followed by a good bandage to speed the healing process. One good option for a bandage is **Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages, **a bandage product that keeps your wound sealed and protected.

** **

**Bandage Commentary:**

** **

Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages are strip- style bandages with a shape that is more oval than rectangular. These bandages are made from comfortable fabric with non- stick padding. They come in assorted sizes and they protect your injury while minimizing the time to heal.

Most all bandages have the same purpose and perform basically the same function. However, Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages have a few features that make them different and perhaps better than most other bandages. First, let's look at the similarities.  These bandages are made from a fabric- like material for better comfort, and this is a quality similar to other bandages. They feature a square or rectangular padded area and are offered in assorted sizes, just like other bandages. In these respects, Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages fit the standard and are just like most competitors.

So, what makes Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages different? The main difference and the best reason to buy this bandage is the way it seals. These bandages are not rectangular in shape, like others. They are oval in shape, and the wider center means the bandages have adhesive around the sides of the padded area that covers your sore. This added protection means your sore is going to be sealed off completely from the outside. With other bandages, there is little or no adhesive on the sides and your sore is more exposed to the elements. Also, speaking of the adhesive, it seems stronger than that of other bandages. Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages stay in place better, and are less likely to wear out their stickiness and fall off.

On the downside, Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages are a little more expensive and not as easy to find as competitors such as Band-Aid, which still controls the market. But this product is gaining in popularity and is offered in most larger stores. Another potential disadvantage is that these bandages are not waterproof. Thus, even though the adhesive surrounds the padded area, water will still get through.

** **

**Bottom Line Viewpoint:**

** **

Wounds heal more quickly when covered and Nexcare Comfort Fabric Bandages are a very good way to protect minor injuries while the healing process takes place. The adhesive surrounding the padding makes this bandage a better choice than most and while they do cost a little more, the superior protection is worth the price.
