Marcal Small Steps Facial Tissue is not very soft.

2

Marcal Small Steps Facial Tissue is not very soft.  This facial tissue feels a little thicker than Marcal Small Steps toilet paper.  The facial tissue is like two Slightly thicker-than=their-toilet-paper sheets put together.  The box claims that this facial tissue is "Soft and Strong".  Again, I would disagree with both of these descriptions.  Marcal Small Steps Facial Tissue is Definitely not soft.  As for the strength -- it is not as weak as the toilet paper, but still, I would Not label it as "strong".  A positive aspect to this Marcal Small Steps facial tissue is that it is made from one hundred percent recycled paper.  Also, if you have issues with fragrance in facial tissue, this product contains "no dye or fragrance added."  The boxes are a nice yellow, though.  I like the floral scene on the box.  I appreciate that Marcal is saving trees by using recycled paper for their products.  Marcal Small Steps Facial Tissue is not very soft.

If you're looking for soft tissues, these aren't the ones!

I bought a package (6 boxes) of Marcal Small Steps facial tissue, and am totally disappointed in them.  They are made from 100% recycled paper, which is good for the environment.  Marcal Small Steps facial tissue has no dye or fragrance added, which is good for those with allergies.  That's where the pros end.  These facial tissues are so rough.  In fact, they are probably the roughest facial tissues I have ever used - even more so than some of the store brands.  I have used Marcal's bathroom tissue and it is not nearly as rough as these facial tissues are.  After using the bathroom tissue, I thought the facial tissue would be about the same quality.  I regret that I bought 6 boxes of them.  I have resorted to using them for cleaning and picking up messes instead of using them on my face.  They are so rough that they chapped my nose.  That's not a good thing when you have a cold and are blowing your nose often.

Would never purchase Marcal tissues again!

I had purchased several of these when they had the coupons offered and I was disappointed.  The kleenex are very rough.  Would make your nose sore if you had a cold.  I really like the idea of "going green" with using recycled paper to make this kind of product but it needs alot of improvement.

thick enough but not soft enough

I believe in the importance of being eco-conscious, especially when it comes to your purchases.  I am a huge proponent of reduce, reuse, and recycle.  So I was very glad to see a big-name brand like Marcal expand its product line to include paper goods made from recycled paper.  When they started issuing coupons (frequently available in the coupon inserts of Sunday newspapers), I paired them with store sales to get the Marcal Soft Steps facial tissues for free or nearly free. Personally, I used handkerchiefs for all my nose-blowing needs.  But my husband likes tissues and goes through lots when he's under the weather.  So I tested these tissues out with him and was disappointed to discover that, although they are not too thin, they are also not too soft.  In fact, I'd call them downright scratchy.  I would always opt for Kleenex, Puffs, or even the store brand over these tissues if I had a sore nose and needed a tissue. That said, I still "purchase" Marcal Soft Steps tissues when I can get them for free (with coupons) and donate them to the food bank.  Better these than nothing at all!

Decent but not the best

I purchased several boxes of this tissue because I was able to get them for only about .30 a box whihc is fantastic for tissues. I also liked the fact that it's recycled and therefor more environmetally friendly. We all know that we have to take care of this wonderful planet we live on. When I opened my first box of them the first thing that I noticed is that it does not have the plastic over the opening that helps only one tissue come out at a time. As much as I know this is better, It also makes to harder to get just one tissue out at a time. The other thing I noticed was that the tissue is very thin. This is fine for normal everyday use but for cold season I just don't think that it will do. I also noticed that it is very "stiff", not soft and plushy like most other tissues, but for the price and the envoronmental facts i'm totally okay with that. The only time that I think I will buy other tissue (puffs with lotion) is during cold season so that there is no red itchy noses in this household.

I had a coupon so I thought I'd try Marcal Small Steps tissues. The new logo of A small,Easy Step to a Greener Earth intrigued me. By choosing small steps from a regular brand I could help save a million trees. The tissues are hypoallergenic and are whitened without chlorine bleaching,no dye or fragrances are added. You get 144 tissues in a box and while they are strong they are a little rough. I feel they are fine for everyday use but If I had a cold I would want something a little softer on my nose. Like the box says small steps to a greener earth.
