Again as a BZZAgent I got the chance to try out a much advertised cure for high cholesterol. A 4 pack of 2 oz bottles of yogurt & fruit teamed with plant sterols that are a great cure for high cholesterol. Problem is the 4 pack at Giant Eagle is $3.79 & at Wal-Mart IS $3.19 so for over $.70 - $.90 a bottle that is 2 days worth. So for 2 weeks I spent $28 to see if it really did anything. SO for 2 weeks I drank 2 bottles a day (12 hours apart). Had bloodwork done for my monthly test at Kaiser & was told I was DOWN 8 POINTS!
Now my doctor has me on Centrum Cardio for 2 weeks, taking 2 pills...

Recently, I started using the product for cholesterol, but then could not find it in stores. Nothing in the news as yet.
I tracked down the contact phone number. The one directly linked to the "shots" disconnects so I used one for the margarine.
It is officially discontinued as of Aug.28,2009. The woman was polite but evasive about why these two products are discontinued.
I have the feeling there may be more about this in the news...I also saw a website by a lawyer for the shots claims of lowering high blood pressure not being true.
Too bad for those of us who needed it, benefited from it, and used...

Promise Activ SuperShots are a super way to start your day! It's my morning juice. Not only do they taste great they help lower your blood pressure. I must admit, I got started with these as a Bzz agent but I love them so much I don't want to quit. And...If they can lower my HBP, all the better. Time will tell if that works.
Promise SuperShots didn't get the highest rating because the top is so darn hard to get off. I don't know what they could have done different but I have to believe they could have something besides the foil tops. The opening is small and that makes it very hard...

I started using Promise active Supershots once daily after my doctor put me on Crestor. I got terrible headaches from Crestor so I discontinued using it after several days and my headaches immeadiately went away. However, my total cholesterol was 293, my LDL 204. I heard about the postive effects of plant sterols, but who wants to each three pounds of brocolli a day. Three months after using Supershots, my total cholesterol fell to 224, my LDL down to 138. Why is the Super Shots line of products no longer available in the USA?
- Answer: Unkown
They worked wonderfully at reducing cholesterol and blood pressure levels. The same line of products under a different name (Flora in the UK and Becel in Canada and other countries) is still available in the UK and has been since 2004. The products should be available to US Consumers. The US drug companies may have protested because we were no longer filling prescriptions.
It is not logical to remove a product from one market and continue selling in another. Giving the 'it didn't sell' line obviously...

I'm a 45 yrs old male of hispanic background and I drank about 32 bottles of power shots in a period of 8 weeks or so.I suffer from High Cholesterol 285 and of course High Blood Pressure due to Kidney Condition /PKD/.Anyways, I'm not a meat eater,nor alcohol drinker,non-smoker.Anyways, today I took a Cholesterol test and My cholesterol is 245!!!. I can't believe it! I will retake it again in a few days 3x more because I'm shocked that it went down so much!!I also, started eating Bumble Bee Salmon Steaks for about 3 weeks.I ran out of power shots and Monday will be back to buy some more!! My cholesterol was slowly climbing up. When it hit 190 I started to worry a little. I decided to try the Promise Cholesterol Shots. I drank one or two a day every day for about six months. I had another cholesterol test done and the results were 159. That was the only change I made in my diet. I am careful about what I eat because I am also an insulin dependant diabetic. I feel these shots gave me some extra help in bringing my cholesterol down. They are a little pricey, but to see the numbers going down it is worth every cent!!!
