My Magic Chef breadmaker was a Christmas gift from my oldest son almost 10 years ago. It works just as well today as it did right out of the box. It came with an owner's/recipe book, measuring cup, and spoon. Some recipes are good; others I have modified. The directions are simple and easy to follow. I love that you can put your ingredients in, select the cycle, even delay the start (up to 13 hours), and come home to the smell of fresh-baked bread. The loaves are sqare and somewhat tall, and make very big sandwiches. If you prefer the traditional bread shape, use the dough cycle. It does all the kneading, and first 2 raises. You can just dump the dough into your greased breadpan, let it raise again, and pop it in the oven.
