LeapFrog Learning Drum Review Summary

LeapFrog Learning Toys are known to be quality toys and the LeapFrog Learning Drum does not disappoint. Being easy for younger babies to use, the LeapFrog Learning Drum features lights and music that reinforce letter and number recognition skills vital to reading success. In LeapFrog style, the Leanring Drum also has a bilingual switch which teaches babies Spanish as well. One mom states "this little drum does a lot in one small toy" Though the “filler music is a little annoying,” the LeapFrog Learning Drum does have volume control so it isn’t blaring all over the house. With a bongo drum like shape, little ones love dragging the Learning Drum it from room to room - and it can take the abuse. The LeapFrog Learning Drum may not turn your baby into a genius but most moms -and babies enjoyed the drum since it is “educational as well as fun.” Need more learning toys for your little one? The Leapfrog learning drum is one of my kids favorite toys. Around 9 months old, my kids started playing with it and it has amused them for about another 18 months.

The Leapfrog learning drum is a compact drum that is very easy to use-- and quite intuitive for kids. Every time you bang on the drum (with...

Don't let LeapFrog fool you - this toy won't teach your infant his alphabet.  However, it will provide lots of fun as he learns that as he hits the drum, the sounds and lights change.

My son wasn't all that interested when we bought this for him, around the six-month mark.  (I had dreams of him learning...

Leap Frog Learning Drum

This drum by Leap Frog is designed to assist your child in learning or practicing ABC’s and numbers. There are also settings for using the drum to make drum noises and also other musical noises.

It is easy for a child to operate. The on switch slides from left to right and is easily maneuvered by my 20 month old. He can switch the settings and turn it on without assistance and I’m sure a younger child could do the same because the switch moves so easily.

When on the ABC or number setting the child can pound on the drum and the drum responds with ABC’s or numbers...

I picked up this Leap Frog drum at a garage sale for $1, figuring that if my daughter didn't like it, it wasn't a major waste of time.

It is intended for age 6 mos and up, and includes options for saying the alphabet with each hit of the drum, counting to 10 with each hit of the drum, a rhythm game (reminiscent of the old Simon game), and a music game.

At 18 months, she is finally interested in this toy.  She likes to hit and bang on pots and coffee tables, so I figured I'd bring out the drum and see if she likes it.

She loves it...for about 10 minutes!  But because she doesn't understand the...

We have enjoyed this toy.  When on the music option my 17 month old will hit it then dance with it and then hit it again this goes on and on.  She love it.  My 3 year old says the abcs along with it.  I love that it has the volume control.  It isn't as loud as some of the toys today.  It has a nice drum sound that we can play together.  The music is fun and we are counting and practicing our ABCs with it almost daily.  I would recommend this to anyone.

I saw the LeapFrog Learning Drum at a local retail store. I looked it up online and found out how well people liked it. I told my wife that it must be worth the price or people would have written a worst review. We bought one and took it home. Our grandson took to it and hasn't let go. He loves it, the lights, the sounds and the beating of the drum. He's not quite a year old yet, but will grow with this toy. It teaches numbers, letters and musical fun. He can lift it out of his toy box and has no problems turning it on and off, at 11 months. We love toys that live up to thier claims, and this one...

The LeapFrog Learning Drum is a great toy, I bought it from eBay and it was in great condition. My little one has put it through a lot and I am sure the child we got it from put it through some abuse as well. This toy is great for my one year old, who is very into banging right now. My child is able to carry this around the house because it is very light  and is also able to change through the different programs without any help. There is a volume setting for high and low, which as any parent can agree is very handy for a toy with music! The songs that are programmed in are also very catchy...

The LeapFrog Learning Drum is a terrific toy. My son loves to bang on stuff and pat his toys. We went searching for a drum in his age group and came home with this. If it's turned off, it does a great job of just being a safe, colorful baby drum.

However, when it's turned on, it becomes much more than a baby drum. The white screen on the top of the drum displays letters in a flashing red lights. The drum also has an Spanish mode for bilingual learning. You can also choose to play songs or just have musical instruments play various notes. Basically, this little drum does alot in one small toy.

I bought my son this Leapfrog Learning Drum for Christmas 08. In the beginning he was estatic! it was the best toy, he would go around the house banging on the drum. At first I was a littel put off by it. It was loud but educational at the same time, so I got it. After about two weeks my son was done with. When using it if you do not continously hit the drum the alphabet restarts, which threw off my child when we where going thourgh the alphabet. You didn't have time to stop and instruct your kid on the letter. After one year the battery was gone, it was really hard to change the battery as...

I recently bought this toy for my youngest son for his 1st birthday. I was a little leary about buying due to the fact that I have had so much trouble with learning toys keeping my oldest son's attention, but it looked fun. Right off the bat he loved it. He just loves to sit there and pound on it to get it to make noise. Not only did he love it, but my oldest son also wanted to play with nothing else. They actually fight over it. Not only is it fun for children to pound on to make music and noise, but it is a great way to help them learn their ABCs. It also helps them learn some spanish if you...

As first time parents we bought this toy for our son when he was about 7 months old.  I think we were hoping it would start teaching him the ABCs early.  Instead, we have found that the Leap Frog Learning Drum will keep him very entertained at least for a short period of time.  He likes the music and the lights that change as he hits the drum but really pays no attention to the actual letters.  The Leap Frog Learning Drum is very sturdy and we like that it has a good volume control so that the music won't drive us all crazy as the baby plays. We are hopeful that he will keep using it and that... review »

I am a mom to 4 girls ranging in age 6 years old to 9 months old, and this toy a great toy to hve.  The kids love to play it - all of the kids.  The one mode, every time you tap on the drum it will say a letter of the alphabet.  I must say, it can be a little hypnotic.  I love educational toys, and I also love musical toys.  This rolls them both into one, and the kids have a lot of fun with it.  It also is a very sturdy toy.  It seems lately that a lot of the toys you get are broke within a couple of days, but not this toy!!!  If you're thinking about it, go for it.  It's a good buy :)...

This was a great toy for my little girl to start learning her ABCs on.  Was a gift from her nanny that has gotten lots of use.  Teaches ABCs and 123s to the beat of some fun music.  My daughter still plays with it at 3 and is now sharing it with her 1 year old cousin.  Helps to introduce alphabet as well as music...very easy for younger ones to use.  Uses hands...no sticks required.

This drum was on sale when I found it which is one of the reasons I bought it.  When I brought it home my daughter she was interested it all the different settings. She loved the fact that when she tapped it she made a letter or some other charater appear.  She acted as if it was magic and she was the magician.  I love watching her play and knowing that she is also learning at the same time .
