A treat for the hunter in our cats

4

Here is an inexpensive and simple toy that cats really like to play with. My cats watch with rapt attention as I open the pack and take out one of the mice, swing it by the tail, and scoot it along the floor. Then a cat who had been hiding out comes streaking out of nowhere to pounce on the prize, and carry it about in his mouth. Then I toss another to the other ones waiting, and they bat it back and forth as if playing soccer. These toys often end up out of paw reach and out of sight until I find them when sweeping under the refrigerator, and the cats react happily because their toys were rediscovered. I think this is why they come in bright colors. To help humans find them again. Others end up being chewed and eaten, and this is safe for the cats to do. Anyway, this is simple fun entertainment for the hunter instinct in our cats, and it makes mine very happy. These toys are worth it even if they get gobbled up because they are inexpensive to begin with.

Simple, but effective!

I have found when it comes to cat toys that often the simplest toys are the ones that my cat can't get enough of. As a pet owner, I'm always drawn to the shiny new products that hit the market, but my cat usually prefers the old standbys, such as these tiny furry mice. My cat absolutely loves them. They are a perfect size for him to carry around in his mouth proudly, toss around by their tails, or bat around the floor wildly. I appreciate the bright colors, because I hate seeing one of my cat's gray toy mice and thinking I've got a real mouse in the house. The only drawback to the little mice is that they are easily lost under couches or chairs, but luckily they are inexpensive enough that I can keep my cat supplied with them at all times. Despite being inexpensive, they are fairly durable little creatures. They stand up to the abuse that my cat dishes out to them on a daily basis. I would recommend buying a couple of packages of these--you and your cat(s) will get hours of entertainment out of them.

Great for Tossing

Hartz is one of the original brands in pet products and their track record speaks to the quality of their products. These little mice are no different. These small, colorful little mice are ideal for cats of all ages and sizes from kittens to adults. And all cats appreciate the catnip they contain! My cats were immediately intrigued when I brought these home from the store and dumped them all on the floor. There was a rush of cats and then mice were being thrown and batted and tossed and chewed. After things quieted down a bit there were three stuffed mice with matted down, slimed on fur and two very contented cats. These aren't the most durable and begin to look rather well worn within a few uses, but it's definitely worth it for the enjoyment they have playing with them. These little, lightweight, catnip filled gems are perfect for everyday play and would make a lovely gift for the cat lover on your list.

The ONLY toy mice my cats will play with

Hartz Mini Mice are adorable small mice toys for cats and kittens. These mini mice provide hours of entertainment for my fur-babies. I have bought other mice toys for them to play with and they wont touch them. It has to be Hartz Mini Mice! They come in an assortment of colors such as pink, blue, green, and yellow, and are constructed from a cotton type of material, which covers something slightly hard that makes the body. The mice include two little ears, and a tail. They are nice and light weight which enables your fur-babies to easily throw them around and swing at them. They also fit in kitties' paw! One of my fur-babies likes to carry the mouse that she claims around and then throw it in the air and catch it. Another likes to throw his and chase after it. They hold up nicely-my fur-kids put them through a lot of wear and tear. They are easily lost because of their size-but a common place for theirs to end up is under the oven, and I just put the small hose on the vacuum and retrieve them.

Expensive toys for the cat? You've gotta be kitten me!

Our cat is a Maine Coon and the funny thing about him is his peculiarity with toys. My fiancee has bought him expensive ones, scratching posts, you name it, and he just ignores them. But these mice...there's something about them. They're cheap, and our cat loves them. He attacks them, batting them about like a soccer player, and loves to carry them around in his mouth. He even dunks the mice in his water bowl, which I liken to us dunking doughnuts into coffee. Overall, these cheap toys entertain our cat much more than the expensive ones, and that is fine by me.

My cat has so much fun with the Hartz Mini Mice

***I first purchased these from a discount store, they were really cheap so I thought I would give them a try. My cat absolutly loves these mice! I have never seen her play with any toy as much as these mice, they get lost easily but all you need to do is move the couch and they they all are! I often buy them as they do sometimes fall apart or get lost forever but they are very much worth replacing because they are my cats best friend. The cost is very affordable and I can usually find them at just about any store. I have recently taught my cat to play fetch with them, this is the only toy she will play fetch with. She always has a blast with them and it is extremly entertaining for us also. I would recommend this cat toy to anyone that truly loves thier cat, it will provide plenty of enjoyment and exercise, my cat seems to prefer the mice that are solid color instead of tri colored, I don't know why but she does. Buy some and enjoy!!***

Tons of fun, but short lived

Fur mice are a staple of kitty-cat playtime and these mice are adequate at performing their job. With their rabbit fur covering and easily captivate and hold the attention of our fuzzy felines. They do not have any fake eyes that can easily come off, but they do have little felt ears that come off after enough play. The biggest issues, I have found, is their propensity to get knocked under furniture and their tendency for their "heads" to come off. It doesn't happen right away, only after a significant amount of play-time. Then you have the bit of fur that was on the head, as a flat or cone-shaped piece and the "tail" end of the mouse with the chalky white substance that is the inside of the toy exposed. Don't be too worried about the chalk-like substance, cats aren't really interested in it. The best advice I can give you is too monitor the toys and get rid of them once they start to separated into pieces.

My cats love Hartz mice

I have been buying toy mice for my cats for years now and all my cats love them. We took in a stray last year who gave birth to five kitten shortly after being brought into the house. The kittens have been playing with toy mice since they were babies, now that they are going on seven months old they still love them. The first born seems to like them the best, she runs around the house with them all the time. The cats seem to prefer the realistic looking mice that have noise makers inside over the colorful ones without. I can't tell you how many of these I've bought over the years. My only complaint is that the cats lose the mice, I'm not sure where they all go. Often I'll find them under the sofas or under the beds but there's always one or two that are never found. Overall I would recommend these toy mice to any cat owner looking for a great toy that will occupy your cat for hours on end.

Cat loves these!

Here's the deal. Cats love to chase mice and mutilate them big time. At least my cat does. Once he caught a real mouse when he was a kitten, and he's been ruined for regular toys since. He wants something that will put up a fight! OK, so these toys don't actually do that, but they provide a reasonably convincing substitute and my cat loves to play with them day and night. He chews, flings, chases, scratches and just goes to town on these puppies. They're pretty durable too, and he really digs into them. A mouse that moved on its own might be better, but these are a good cheap alternative. Plus, there are three in a pack and that means there's lots of play to be had before he rips them to shreds. What more can you ask for? If you're asking for more than that, then I think you're really being a little too picky and maybe not interested in your cat's fun. Cats love to play with mice! It's a fact!

perfect for tossing and batting

these furry mice are a big favorite in our house. the cats love to bat them across the floor and often pick them up by the tails and toss the around. they're inexpensive and endless fun for the cats. while most of them do hold up to a good deal of abuse, some of them fall apart, and when they do it can actually be pretty funny. instead of having a hollow core like some other mouse-type toys, **Hartz Mini Mice **are solid in the middle, underneath the fur. the substance in the middle reminds me a bit of chalk in that it's white and a bit flaky. typically when one of ours comes apart, the head section comes off. and while cat toys falling apart isn't a good thing, it is pretty funny when you find a fur-mouse head minus the body. one of these days i'm going to have one mounted and put up on the wall as a joke. these toys being solid in the middle isn't a bad thing as far as i'm concerned, though. it gives them a little bit of "heft", for lack of a better way of putting it, which makes them better for tossing around. the kitties don't have such an easy time tossing around small mice with hollow cores. these furry mice also have little felt ears. sometimes the cats rip the ears off of the fur mice. i do sometimes worry about them possibly eating or even choking on the little ears when they pull them off, but that hasn't been a problem. it's also pretty funny when cleaning up to find the little ears just laying around.
