Friends gave one of these to me when I first got my cats -- they were only 5 months old.  They both loved it but especially the female, Tyne.  She would grab it and try to run (which was funny in and of itself) then looked shocked when she lost it!  They both loved it so much that they pulled the feathers off pretty quickly.

I have three cats of all diffrent ages and they all love running back and forth trying to catch the feathers. They have actually pulled it out of my hands a couple of times and walked around the house poudly with their prize.   I actually have to hide the toy when I'm not with them or they pull all the feathers out and try to eat them,   It's great fun for both the cats and the humans who love them.

I have two male cats, both domestic shorthairs and around two years old. My cats absolutely love this toy, and it is among their favorites.. (which include laser pointers, shoelaces, and boxes)  What I really love about this toy is that it seems pretty safe. The feathers DO eventually fall off, depending on how much use the toy gets, of course. But the feathers are supposed to be non-toxic and I can say that my cats have never gotten sick after swallowing one. That's pretty much all there is to the toy: feathers and a plastic stick. No little parts to come off so I don't have to worry about my cats choking.  Also, there are many ways to play with this toy. You can drag it across the ground, flutter it above the cats, peek it around corners and under doors (my cats love pouncing when I do this) but my favorite is bouncing the toy back and forth around my cats. They actually get excited when I pick up the toy and start to hop around. And these cats aren't the playful little kittens they used to be.  It's such a versatile toy and my cats adore it (which cat owners know is rare) but each cat has their own preferences.. this works for mine. It keeps my boys happy and active and is the least expensive form of entertainment you can invest in!

I almost didn't want to review this product because it is such a basic cat toy. However, my two sibling cats and I had so much fun playing with it that I felt an obligation to let other pet owners know what a fun product this is. For the price especially, you can't beat it. I picked this toy up at a local PETCO store and brought it home, not really sure if my cats would like it or not. They don't seem to be the typical cats that'll chase anything that moves. However, after taking the feather teasers out of the bag they both roamed around me like they were getting ready to stalk their prey. What I did is put the feathers agains the floor and quickly wiggled the handle back and forth. After a while, my back was killing me from bending over so I dropped the toy. They then proceeded to rip the feathers out of the toy. One issue I did have, which is not the companies fault, is that my cats were easily able to rip the feathers off this toy within a matter of minutes, pretty much rendering it useless. However, for the cheap price and the few hours of fun we had, I'd highly recommend this product for fellow cat lovers.

My two cats have been through a few of these now.  That being said, it's not that they haven't lasted with the cats - it's mostly that when the dog was younger she would take it from the cats to see what the fascination was - needless to say they don't hold up to that abuse!  Otherwise these have been great little toys for the money.  I don't remember exactly what I paid, but I believe they were pretty cheap.  I usually wave the toy around for the cats and play with them, but i've also fixed the toy in container bars or under something heavy so they can't run off with it, but can keep attacking - it naturally bounces, weaves and moves around as they bat at it with their paws, which seems to give great amusement for a very long time.  Both of my cats love this toy and I always try to have one on hand to amuse them.  I would recommend these toys to other cat owners as a quick little toy to amuse your cats for quite awhile.

I have two middle age cats who still think they are little tiny kittens. They will play for hours with silly little toys such as this as they are so easily amused, it is hilarious! They love this toy, and it is entertaining for us humans to watch them play with it as well. It is basically a toy on a stick, and I waive it around and they jump up and bite it. They also love when I run around with it and they chase me around the house. I do not know why cats see stuff like this as extremely fun and amusing, but I am glad I can make them happy with something like this. The toy is also fairly durable, I had it for several months before one of the cats bit off a feather. After about eight months of routine playing, the feathers started falling out, oops! But otherwise, they really enjoyed it. Even after some of the feathers fell out, they still liked playing with it anyway. Like I said, easily amused!

If you have a cat this is the best toy ever for any cat. Any cat that I ever had or any cat that I've played with one of these loves it. The cats at the store that are waiting to be adopted loves this toy. I haven't found a cat yet that doesn't find this interesting if not the most entertaining fun they ever have. This is a long black stick with feathers on the end of it. So you don't have to be so near the kitty while you play with it which is a protection for you. You slowly move the feathered end across any surface and will have to increase your pace for that kitty will start to chase it until it gets it. If the kitty gets a hold of it the kitty will kick it with its back feet and bite it. Sometimes it will have it in its mouth and will try to take off with it. You can make the kitty chase it for a long time and even go up in the air with it and the kitty will go up in the air to try and get it. When the kitty starts to get bored with it or isn't so interested in it then turn it around so that the black stick part is at the end that the kitty gets and the kitty will be interested in it again. Even when lots of the feathers are ripped out of this because of hours of kitty fun the kitty is still interested in playing with a pitiful sick with one or two feathers in it. This is well worth the money for fun filled times with your cat.

My cats throughouly enjoy this feather teaser. I have never tried using one of these toys before. My cats are older and lazier and I've just always thought they weren't interested because a few years ago I've tried playing with them but they couldn't care care less. Then I brought home this toy for them and they went hog wild! They were chasing it, jumping for it, I would definitely recommend this for anyone interested in purchasing for their cats. Old or young it is enjoyable. The feathers do eventually fall off but they are cheap enough for me to go out and buy another one. It's more like a 'treat' for them. Some may complain that the stick isn't long enough but I feel it was the perfect length for my cats. They had a wonderufl time and still do. My cats are fat so it's good to keep them going so they can hopefully lose weight and become more fit! I love that this one toy can keep them on the go!

I really hate to give a product a bad review and yet this is one that I just have to put out there.  This was something that I got for my cat knowing that I have other friends who said just the greatest things about this product.  I could not wait to try it out.  I got this home and pulled it out of the packaging and went looking for my cat.  She was only too eager to play along.  We played for about an hour and then it happened.  A feather was pulled out.  I could not believe it.  I tried to put the feather back in the toy and it would not go.  So now we are down to just a few feathers left in the toy and what happens the next time that we pull it out to play?  Another feather falls out!  Now we are down to one feather and the toy has lost the fun for all of us in the house.  Now, my cat has all of her claws removed (long story how that happened but it did) so I know that it is not a case of her claws.  Just disappointing.

We rescued 2 kittens from a local animal shelter this sumer and have been buying new toys that catch their interest. Theyare very playful so it's not hard to catch their attention. They really love this feather teaser toy! They love to chase after it, jump at it, and even do flips over it! It's great bonding time between a pet owner and their pet to have this special playtime and you need just a few toys that they enjoy. Cats hunt birds so it's in their natura instinct to want to chase a feather teaser toy. It's also entertaining to watch how excited our kittens get when we bring out the teaser. The cats can be rough on the toy if they get their paws on it so I would definitely recommend keeping it put up while it's not being played with. My one kitten ripped the feather part out of the holder of the toy after playing too roughly with it! Instead of buying another one, I hot glued it back in and it has stayed in so far. It's a cheap toy so what can you expect? I'd buy them another when it breaks again.
