When we had our first baby they gave us one of these at the hospital. We realized that winter how wonderful they were. All the doctors recommend that you don't use blankets and living in Minnesota that's hard to do in winter without spending a ton. The sleep sack is warm enough that you don't need to put a blanket on top of the baby. These sleep sacks are awesome. They're much easier to do than swadling although they can do the same thing. You put your baby in the sack and then most come with another piece that you can wrap around there arms or just around their chest for some extra warmth. My children always liked there arms out so we just wrapped it around their chest. They're really nice thick fleece, not cheap fleece, and the idea is great for newborns.They're really easy to use too! They're more expensive than some sleep sacks but totally worth it for the quality. You just have to be careful with washing that it's all stuck together, sometimes I find them sticking to other things.

I am so happy with my Halo sleep sack. I have four children, but this is the first child I have used a sleep sack with. My child routinely pulled a blanket over his face, so this was the perfect solution for keeping him warm yet not worrying about suffocation. It is soft and not scratchy. It zips up the front well and has plenty of room for growth. It is washable, not too heavy, yet not too light. It is a great way to keep your little one warm without worries in the middle of nap time or the middle of the night. I don't know how I had the other 3 kids sleep without one of these before, because now it is a staple in my nursery. I highly recommend this great product!
