This is a great printer from the industry leader.  The 2605 is fast and reliable.  It takes 4 toners (black, and 3 color) so you only replace the one you need to, not all of them.  Cost per page and quality are excellent.  The only con is the first page print time (about 30 seconds).  I run mine on our network.  The software that came with the printer automatically found the printer and set it up on the computer.   A great buy!

The HP Color LaserJet 2605dn has been a great addition to our home office. It has high quality output, runs sufficiently quickly, and is quiet (the prior HP printer we had could wake up the dead when it started churning in the middle of the night). While the price on the printer is all right, the cartridges do run out quickly and are expensive, so plan accordingly by using draft mode when possible and keeping the next set of carttridges on hand! Other than that, it's been a great addition to the office!

A couple of years ago I started looking for a color laserjet to replace a perfectly great Samsung monochrome printer. The HP2605dn was on sale and came with full sized cartridges out of the box, so I bought it. The first year I loved it. It prints a great image, prints quickly and I liked the features of duplexing etc. Having to run cardstock through one sheet at a time manually was a bit of a pain, but I dealt with it. Also the toner is outrageously expensive, but that is true of all printers. After a year the problems started. I am not sure if it is something screwed up in my settings or what, but my husband who is a tech guy for a profession can't figure out what is wrong. The printer now refuses to print larger files such as pdfs with lots of layers or anything with lots of involved graphics. This includes printshop or photoshop files, and things off the web. We have maxed out the upgradable memory and still no luck. The new problem is that the red color distributes unevenly on the page, which can be fixed by taking the printer apart down to the tiny innards and cleaning some mirrors, which I am not willing to do. Customer service is not free after a small window of warranty, so I am looking for a new printer.

We found the HP 2605dn sharply discounted at Staples. We were looking for a color printer that had networking capabilities, and the HP Color Laserjet 2605dn has not disapointed us. For a color laser printer, the HP 2605dn is fairly compact, and doesn't have a much larger footprint than most black and white laser printers.  We use this printer with Mac OS X, Ubuntu Linux, and Windows XP, for each of these operating systems, the printer has worked well.  We have it hooked up to our wireless router, and it generally works well. We have only experienced one issue with it; occasionally it will get itself hung up and say that it's printing a document, when in fact it's not. This holds up other print jobs, but a reboot of the printer takes care of the problem, it doesn't happen very often, and may be related to our wireless network.  The printer has never jammed or had a paper misfeed, even when doing duplex printing. The printer requires four toner cartridges, which while they are not inexpensive, they do last for a long time.  We've had the printer for over two years, and are just now at the point where the cyan, yellow, and magenta cartridges are starting to get low. HP still makes a quality laser printer, and we've been happy with our 2605dn.

When I first purchased this printer, I was really sticker shocked.  But once we got it home, connected and printed our first document I was hooked.  It has been 2 years and this printer has seen it all.  My family uses it for all applications, projects, pictures, labels, invitations, cards, coupons and invoices.  We are never disappointed.  One of my favorite features is its ability to print on both sides of the paper.  This is so important when you have students printing projects.  Now some folks are upset with the cost of the toner cartridges.  But even with that cost, this printer has consistently printed the highest quality prints and I still have all 4 original cartridges in the printer.  For the reliability of the printer, brand and the quality of the prints, I would purchase this printer again and still come out ahead.  Excellent home network printer.  Easy to install.  It should be the model for all color laser jet printers.  Bravo HP for a quality printer for a good price. Bravo indeed.

The HP 2605 DN is a compact printer with a fairly small footprint.  I took it out of the box, plugged it in, inserted the toner cartridges -- all of which were easy.  My first disappointment came when I tried to read the message display panel.  It is not backlit and is very tiny and hard to see from a variety of angles.  The three buttons available for scrolling through the menus do not seem to be, to me, very intuitive.  Nor is the menu lay out easy to figure out without a printed reference.  However, the real problem with this printer lies in its color alignment, or lack thereof.  I find that I need to frequently run the color alignment routine.  I have also found that I cannot move the printer from one location to another no matter how careful I am.  It seems that the slightest jiggle or thump causes the colors to misalign in such a way that the color alignment routine will no realign the colors.  I am on my third printer under warranty.

I have been in an office recently working with this printer - it prints out awesome but it is a slow printer with expensive cartridges - it takes 4 at a time at a cost  of 75 to 85 each to have color and black.
