We live in a humid climate and during the peak of the summer we usually have a pretty regular list of day-to-day-living-complaints, especially regarding the quality of the air in our home. It seems like every time we even so much as open a window the house is filled with damp air and the smells of the street, the neighbors, the damp basement, every animal in the neighborhood, the ozone from people's lawn mowers, and everything that anyone within a few miles has decided to cook that day. Until recently we had developed a rigorous system for when we could keep which doors open, how much outside air was allowed in, when to run the air conditioner to cool the house, and had organized a complex network of fans to remove smells and greasy air when we were cooking. Then we bought the GermGuardian 3-in-1 Digital Air cleaning System and everything changed! Suddenly we can cook what we want when we want, open our windows and doors without needing to plan ahead, and sleep soundly through the night with no threat of bad air in from somewhere and making us wake up with a sore throat. The GermGuardian itself is a step above other air purifiers for several reasons. For one, it has a TrueHEPA filter (not just HEPA type) and you can definitely tell. The other filters on it also make a difference in the smell and feel of the air, and because it is a three-in-one system it works much faster than you might expect: within maybe an hour we can completely purify an entire room, no matter how musty it may have started out. There is also ease in setting up the machine--pretty much you take it out of the box and plug it into the wall and let it get to work. There are three fan speeds and an option to turn off the UV light, and the quietest setting is quiet enough that you don't notice it when you sleep. All in all I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is interested in keeping their home fresh without spending a fortune on air fresheners, scented candles, and other masking tools; it is definitely worth the price!

I have one of these in each of my sons' rooms. One room has two boys and can get to smelling pretty bad. The purifier has helped a lot with the smell. Also we were passing around strep and other germs, so I love that this will help eliminate that as well. My baby did knock one over and now it makes a high pitched sound it didn't before. Otherwise the sound is very quiet on the lower settings and nice and soothing on the highest setting. I like that it is a TRUE hepa filter. That is what is recommended for allergies and so many products are "hepa like" or other not quite hepa level protection. I would certainly give this product a try if you have allergy problems. Ease of Maintenance I have not had to do any maintenance on this product yet Dust/Allergen Removal We seem to breath a little easier during this allergy season. True hepa filter is the best for allergen removal. Durability My baby knocked it over and it still works fine, but it does now make a high pitched noise on the highest setting. Effectiveness Room smells cleaner and germs are kept at bay Design Nice easy design. Light is a little bright at night. But I only run the light when someone is sick and then turn light off at night.
