One of the best Anti-Drandruff Shampoos I tried

By

from ErnestK, OH

Comments about Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - Clean & Fresh Formula:

I seen this free sample on a website for Grrnier Fructis anti-dandruff shampoo. I thought I would try it, so I ordered it. Now I buy this shampoo all the time. The smell is great and it don't leave you hair smelling like dandruff shampoo. That's a pro for me. Anther pro is that it leaves your hair felling great and full of life. The cons of the product is that your hair will start itching a few days later and the cost isn't really cheap like other dandruff shampoos.

Didn't work

By

from Endwell, NY

Comments about Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - Clean & Fresh Formula:

Dandruff has always been a problem and I have tried many anti-dandruff shampoos and still can't find anything effective. Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Clean & Fresh Shampoo is the latest one I tried and still doesn't work. According to the ad, the shampoo is powered with natural extracts and B-vitamins. It can remove and help prevent flakes and purfy the scalp while relief scalp itch and strangthen hair. During washing, the shampoo did smell very good and gave me a cool and refreshing feeling. I still had that feeling after washing which lift my hope that this might be the one that works. Unfortunately, my scalp started to itch the night I washed my hair. When I itched, flakes came off which means more dandruff which in turn means the so-called anti-dandruff failed to work. I thought maybe I didn't rinse my hair thoroughly and therefore I tried it a couple more times and I got the same result! I am quite frustrated with this shampoo and I am not going to use it anymore.

It works

By

from Watsonville, CA

Comments about Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - Clean & Fresh Formula:

I've had dandruff issues on and off for the last year. Head and Shoulders used to work well in the past but this time it hasn't helped at all. I've tried several shampoos (including "Soak and Float" from Lush, which smells pretty bad) and nothing seems to work. I tried a trial size of this for the heck of it and it actually worked. My dandruff was gone and my hair and scalp felt really clean. The only down side is the smell, it's not a strong smell, but it's a noticeable smell. If you've used some anti dandruff shampoos you know the smell I'm talking about, it's not quite chemically, but it's not a typical nice smelling shampoo smell. But I suppose it's better to deal with the slight smell rather than flakes.

Garier Fructis Anti-Dandruff has a fresh twist

By

from Lancaster, PA

Comments about Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - Clean & Fresh Formula:

I got a sample of this product in the mail. When I first put it in my hand, I wondered if I had accidentally put apricot scrub in my hand. It has little blue scrubbing granules in it! I thought that was a neat new idea - scrubbing your scalp to get rid of the dandruff. I was afraid they would leave a gritty residue in my hair, but it didn't.

I liked the smell and texture of the shampoo. It didn't have the medicine smell like many anti-dandruff shampoos. It rinsed out clean. It had that clean feeling that makes me feel like it may be too dried out, so I was sure to use conditioner with it.

The thing I liked the most about it is the lather. As soon as I began rubbing it in, I felt the lather almost exploding. It was almost like the effect of seeing shaving cream grow larger. I really liked the thick lather. The second time I used it, the lather wasn't as thick at first, but I realized it was because my hair wasn't as wet as it normally is when I apply shampoo.

Painful shampoo

By

from Hampton, VA

Comments about Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - Clean & Fresh Formula:

I have a pretty tough scalp, but this shampoo actually HURT.  The first time I used it, my scalp started itching and continued throughout the day.  The second time I used it my scalp was beyond uncomfortable itching, it actually felt painful.  Thinking I was just having a reaction to one of the chemicals in this particular shampoo, I asked my spouse to try it.  The results were the same, a very tight, dry, and itchy feeling scalp.

The scent is decent for an anti-dandruff shampoo, but there are other brands out there that smell much better.  The shampoo does feel like it gets your hair clean, but almost seems as if it gets "too" clean by striping every last nutrient out of your strands.  Besides the itching, my hair felt brittle before and after drying, and this was after two rounds of conditioner.

Usually I like the Garnier Fructis products, so I'm a little surprised that this new formula they came out with did not go over so well.  It may have just been a bad reaction on my family's part, but I don't recommend this shampoo to anyone.

Downhill after the first day.

By

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - Clean & Fresh Formula:

**Clean & Fresh** is just one of the four new **Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoos**.  Its active ingredient is that old dandruff standard *Pyrithione Zinc 1%.*

* *I was attracted to this particular **Garnier** formula by the "Purifies Scalp & Fortifies Hair" description which seemed to imply some hair volume possibilities.  The "use at least twice a week" direction also appealed to me since I don't have the kind of lifestyle that demands a shampoo every day.

**Clean & Fresh** lathers appreciably.  (It *does* have those dubious suds-enhancing chemicals *Sodium Laureth Sulfate *and  *Sodium Lauryl Sulfate *listed second and third only to *Water*.)  I massaged the shampoo gently into my scalp, then did a second wash and and an extensive final rinse.  **Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Clean & Fresh** feels stimulating on the scalp and did, indeed, add volume to my fine, limp hair. I set my hair without any intermediate products to full gauge **Garnier**'s final results.

*Day One*:  Volume proved ongoing although our present, dry California weather certainly assisted in the effect.  *Day Two:*  Volume and set remained, but by now, my scalp had begun to itch.  This irritation increased as the day went on.

As a "Tender Flower" with scalp issues, I have to say that *Head and Shoulder* and *Suave Dandruff Shampoo* are more effective than this formula of **Garnier Fructis**' latest anti-dandruff editions.

The scrubbing action didn't feel good.

By

from Melbourne, FL

Comments about Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - Clean & Fresh Formula:

My usual brand of anti-dandruff shampoo is Head & Shoulders, but this was on sale so I decided to give it a try.  I will not be buying this again.  The anti-dandruff mechanism in this shampoo is that it's made like a body scrub, in that there are tiny tiny beads in the shampoo, which are supposed to "purify" the scalp while you massage it in.  It made my hands nice and soft, and it carried the typical delicious Garnier fragrance, but I didn't feel it was effective on my dandruff.  The scrubby parts weren't scrubby enough, and it lacked the generous conditioner usually found in most Head & Shoulder products.

Oddly enough, I would recommend this shampoo if you did NOT have dandruff.  As I said, it smells nice, and it makes my hair look great. However, knowing it's an anti-dandruff shampoo gives me too many expectations that she can't be expected to live up to. (Wait, are we still talking about hair care?)

Garnier Anti-Dandruff shampoo works well & smells great!

By

from Greenville, MI

Comments about Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - Clean & Fresh Formula:

I was impressed with the Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff (Clean & Fresh) Shampoo! I need to use an anti-dandruff shampoo in the colder months when the air is drier but I can't stand the smell of the pricier medicated shampoos and they usually don't get along with my long hair leave it a tangled mess. There are micro-bead type things in the shampoo, I found that a bit at first to say the least (wasn't sure I was going to keep using it), but I'm used to it after only using it for about ten days now and I believe it really does help stimulate the scalp to remove flakes. The shampoo leaves my hair feeling clean, suds up appropriately and though I haven't been using it long I have noticed less flakes and itching. Price is very reasonable for a medicated shampoo. I didn't notice any "extra" benefits from the shampoo like adding volume, or shine but it seems to stand up to everything it claims to do, relieving itchiness and preventing flakes. this shampoo gets an A in my book!
