Oldie but goodie! A coffemaker worth searching for!

5

I have had this percolator for many years and just like the Energizer Bunny, it keeps on going strong! It keeps coffee hot until you pull out the plug and it does in very quickly. It is very easy to use and easy to put together. Fill with water, add coffee grinds (I don't use a coffee filter so you can save money!), put cover on, plug it in and presto, very hot steaming coffee in just a few minutes. It is also easy to clean out and you could put the basket, cover and stem in your dishwasher or hand wash them. One of the minor drawbacks is that it is a little hard to see the cup measurement numbers (2, 4, 6, 8) on the inside of the percolator. Also, I guess you have to remember to pull out the plug! However, a big plus for this percolator is that it is stainless steel and you will not be left with a broken glass carafe if you hit it accidentally. A good buy! Be careful about buying it used online because sometimes the heating element may not work properly on an old percolator!

So good, needed 2

Growing up, my mom had the Farberware Percolator in each size (4 cup, 8 cup, and 12 cup) and pulled one out of the cabinet depending on the size of the crowd over that day/night. As soon as I moved out on my own, I knew I need one of these percolators as my own. It served me well over the years, from college to owning my own home. With just a few pieces and no filter, it's quick and easy to not only make coffee, but also clean up afterward. To start, just fill with water to the desired cup line, clearly marked inside. Then insert the cup that holds the coffee, toss in the desired number of scoops, put on the lid, plug in and you are on your way. In just second you will hear and smell the delicious aroma. Once you are done enjoying, just pull out the basket, empty the grinds and rinse all of the pieces. Because of Farberware's ease of use and easy clean-up, I recently purchased an additional 8 cup percolator for my office. The days of going to a certain chain coffee store was quickly adding up. Now I can enjoy coffee at home or work, simply and quickly thanks to Farberware's 8 cup percolator.

Perks the best coffee we've had at home yet!

3

We've tried all kinds of coffee makers in our house and this coffee pot perks the best coffee that we've had at home yet. I wouldn't have thought I was a coffee snob until having coffee from our Farberware pot. Other coffee makers make coffee that's watery or bitter. This pot perks a *consistently* great cup of coffee everytime. The ONLY problem that we've had with this pot is that our first pot only lasted two years. This is our second one - 6 months old and still going so far. We'll see. The coffee is so good, though, we'll be hard pressed not to buy another one if it only goes two years. Seriously. ETA - the second pot doesn't always work properly. So disappointed because it really does make a great pot of coffee when it works! Durability Expensive pot that doesn't last long enough to warrant the expense!

Farberware Percolator makes heavenly coffee

5

I have owned a farberware pecolator for many, many years.  When I first got married, 33 years ago, I had a Mister Coffee coffee maker.  It was okay, but what did I know.  The coffee was never really hot and it tasted warm and old after the first cup.  Then I discovered the Farberware Percolator.  What a great appliance.  The coffee comes out super hot and stays that way for the whole pot of coffee.  I think it makes the coffee tastes better.  It's just as good as a old fashioned percolated cup of coffee made on the stove.  I actually always have a Farberware percolator on reserve.  They do last a long time.  I use mine every single day.  On the weekends I sometimes use it two or three times a day.  It lasts me a couple of years.  The coffee it makes always tastes fresh and hot.  There is nothing like a great, hot, fresh cup of coffee.  It is the only coffee pot for me.  I am a loyal Farberware Percolator user and fan.

This coffee make will not disappoint you. I have had other coffee makers and this is by far my favorite. Easy to clean. I used to have a bunn coffee maker and when it broke i took it apart and it was filthy inside there was even a dead bug in there... which is why I will now only use a percolator because you can see how clean it is.

Love my Old Fashion Percolator

My Mom is actually the big peculator fan, but I soon became one also when she bought me my first one about 18 year ago. We love strong, hot coffee and my other coffee makers cannot beat the percolator on either account. I think my Mom owns three different sizes, but I just have the 8-Cup size. I've never had problems with mine, but my mother attests that Farberware 'doesn't make them like they used to' and she's had to buy them more often since her percolators get used daily. One tip I have is to get the coffee filter for the percolator. It does seem to make cleaning up the coffee grounds a bit easier. It's not the classiest or most modern looking coffee maker, but family and friends always enjoy a fresh brewed cup of coffee from my percolator.

The Farberware Percolator is the only Coffee Pot I will Buy!

Sometimes Grandma really does know best.  I give my kids cod liver oil, we stay away from blue yogurt and I use the Farberware Percolator that makes the BEST pot of coffee, thanks Grandma!  Like many of you, I've had lots of different coffee pots - lots of brands of drip coffeemakers, the 1 cup machines and the pod machines (the most expensive alternative by fra and totally overrated).  The drip coffeemakers always had a funny taste to me and I hate the filters for the environment.  My grandma bought me the percolator and Wow - I didn't think it would be so easy but it is.  No filters, just pour in the grinds and plug it in.  First of all, it's the FASTEST coffee maker I've ever had and this is a big plus and second of all, the coffee is by far, the HOTTEST out of any pot I've ever tried.  Okay, you have to wash a few parts but it's really no big deal for a steaming hot fast cup of coffee -especially if you're a morning commuter like me.   No complaints whatsoever.

Loving this percolator, great hot coffee.

We got the Farberware 8-cup coffee pot as a gift for our anniversary this year, and it has been a staple in our household! I set it up for my husband before I leave for work, and all he has to do is plug it in. The coffee is much hotter than when we make coffee in our automatic drip coffeepot, a definite plus. It takes only minutes to brew as well, and the spout allows you to pour without any drips! The dripping problem drove me NUTS with my old coffeemaker... enough with the puddles on the counter!                                                                                     There is a short cord, which I prefer, but might be an issue for some users. The outside does get pretty hot, so I think that a short cord is better, otherwise it has the potential for clumsy folks like myself to knock it off the counter routinely. I only gave it 4 stars because I really wish it had some kind of discreet auto-off feature. I like the styling too much to mess with it, though. Overall, I am really happy with it. Percolated coffee is the best!

Faberware 8-cup Percolator makes great coffee

4

Faberware 8-cup Percolator makes great coffee. My husband will only drink coffee that is percolated. We have tried the drip coffee makers and used them for a while but always come back to the percolator. We were using the General Electric percolator and then it broke. It was too big anyway - the 12-cup one. So after that broke I searched the internet for a new one. We live in a rural area and no one around here sold percolators. So the internet shopping it was. I found one for a good price and had it fedex overnight. We choose the Faberware 8-cup because we wanted something a bit smaller but not too small. This is the perfect size. Also if we travel we can take it with us to the hotel and use our own coffee pot and not have to buy coffee out which gets expensive. You don't have to use a filter in the percolator but we do. I use the small 4 cup basket filter and just put a little hole in the middle, makes clean up easier. This percolator makes great coffee so far.

Coffee the way it was meant to be had!

I LOVE my faberware percolator! The coffee comes out perfectly strong and smooth every time I use it. It's very easy to take a part and clean and because there are no coffee filters involved (the filter is stainless steel) there is no garbage other than the coffee grounds...a coffee maker that makes excellent coffee and reduces waste to boot. The sleek, stainless steel design looks great with any kitchen decor and the pot is just the right size--not too big, but not tiny either. It's very sturdy, too. I have been brewing coffee with my faberware perculator since I moved out of my parents house nearly ten years ago--it's definitely long-lasting. It's also great for travel--I take it with me to my cabin each year and it can just be thrown in a suitcase--no glass to worry about. I would definitley recommend the faberware percolator to anyone..I've been drinking coffee brewed in one since I was old enough to drink coffee.
