Smells like apples and adds volume

By

from USA

Comments about Desert Essence Organics Green Apple & Ginger Shampoo:

I received Desert Essence Organics Green Apple & Ginger Shampoo as a gift from a friend. I was a little skeptical of anything apple scented but tried it any way.

The shampoo is light to the touch and does indeed smell like apples. I did not smell anything that resembled ginger which I consider to be a good thing. My hair did smell like apples following each shampoo.

The shampoo adds a lot of volume and body. If you have thin hair this would be a huge benefit but if your hair is already thick and coarse like mine, it is more of a detriment. I ended up with an uncontrollable frizz.

I did like that the Desert Essence Organics Green Apple & Ginger Shampoo did a great job of cleansing my hair and my scalp. I did not need to use a lot of shampoo to yield the desired outcome. This makes Desert Essence Organics Green Apple & Ginger Shampoo a great buy, economically, as well.

I also like that the company is committed to producing products that organic and natural. They are socially conscious and strive to make a difference. I've enjoyed other products from their Desert Organics line that are my suited to my hair type.

Green Apple & Ginger Shampoo & Conditioner.... WOW:)

By

from Millersburg, IN

Comments about Desert Essence Organics Green Apple & Ginger Shampoo:

The Shampoo:

I like this shampoo. I like it better than the conditioner. It works very well- and is very mild. I like that it has nothing bad for you in it- and all the ingredients come straight from this earth. It is good for the earth, as well as for your hair, skin and self. This really does make your hair smell like green apples! I was reading something once, and it mentioned that this girls hair smelled like green apples. After I read that- I wanted mine to smell like green apples too! I couldn't find green apple shampoo or conditioner anywhere- not even styling products. And then my mom actually came across this once when she was on Vitacost.com. (that's a really good site- if you haven't come across it, check it out! So affordable!) I bought the shampoo and conditioner, and I got to say: I really liked that stuff.

The Conditioner:

I love that this makes the smell of green apples last longer in your hair- verses the shampoo. However, I didn't find this conditioner to be very moisturizing- which I really look for in a good conditioner. This is a little bit hard to work through your hair too. It's very... stiff? It's not really thick it's just not slick. It gets kind of stuck of your hair, like the conditioner is dry. However, it makes your hair very soft and manageable- and it smells great!

Overall, I love that it's natural completely, and organic. Plus it's so good for you and your hair. The smell is amazing, it doesn't smell artificial at all- probably cuz it's not! Very good product!

I have baby fine soft hair and this gives it so much body! A tad bit overpowering on the fragrance but other than that it smells wonderful and works fantastic on my hair and I love it because it is good for my hair! ( No bad ingredients!)

Desert Essence Green Apple..............

By

from Portland, OR

Comments about Desert Essence Organics Green Apple & Ginger Shampoo:

Ok,so I bought a couple of the Desert Essence Organics shampoos,I bought the Green Apple one and I bought the Lemon Tea Tree one.I definatley like the Lemon Tea Tree one so much better, but this review is about the Apple and Ginger one.It is only ok for me,it weighs down my hair a little and when I first used it the smell was overpowering.I could smell it all day and it even made my bathroom smell all day.I like apples but it was still overpowering for me,I like lightly scented or even no scents. If it made my hair bouncy, soft and feel lightweight it would of helped, but it didnt,I havent used it since,it has been sitting in my shower for months, but I have in the past few months went through a few bottles of Desert Essence Organics Lemon Tea Tree shampoo,it is the opposite,it has a light lemon smell, and leaves my hair clean and not weighed down. For these Desert Essence Organic shampoos,I guess you just have to find the right one suited for your hair. They also have a few others,I think maybe grape and something else,I only tried the two and found the one I am sticking with.(lemon tea tree)

This all natural shampoo smells like fresh cut geen apples.

Comments about Desert Essence Organics Green Apple & Ginger Shampoo:

I love fruity scents and I also strive to buy organic or at least all natural body care products. When I saw the **Desert** **Essence** **Organics** **Green** **Apple** **&** **Ginger** **Shampoo**, I had to have it.

It comes in a stand up tube with a flip top lid at the bottom. The Green Apple & Ginger variety is for "Thickening & Volumizing". When I used the shampoo, it smelled wonderful and lathered nicely. It seemed pretty good for all natural, since some all natural shampoos are not as good as their unnatural competitors. I liked it just fine until I got out of the shower and tried to comb out my hair. My hair was in knots and it was very difficult to comb through. Not only that, but my hair just didn't feel like it normally does after a shower. I can't describe the feeling it had. It probably had something to do with the naturalness of the shampoo.

Some of the good benefits of this product:

- No animal testing
- No parabens
- Biodegradable

**The Scoop!**

If I had it all over to do, I would probably buy a different shampoo. I did give it 3 stars though because it is made with outstanding ingredients and someone with thicker hair would probably have a better experience.
