i love this computer because it comes in many stylish colors and is easy to carry around and its not difficult to use. i would recomend this computer for any one to use cause it gives no problems and doesnt break easily.

My husband and I spent a long time looking for a laptop that would fit our needs, and we were incredibly thrilled when we brought our **Dell Vostro 1014 Laptop Computer (Intel Celeron 900 160GB/1GB) (bqcwcp13) PC Notebook **home.  The fact of the matter is that I am not very computer literate.  I needed something simple, that I could easily sit down with, right out of the box, and just go to work on.  I needed something that I wasn't going to have to spend hours reading a user's manual in order to use, which is why I chose this particular notebook.  I am a grandmother, and my kids are spread out all over the Pacific Northwest--I wanted to be able to get online easily, upload and download photos quickly, and I wanted to be able to do everything that I was able to do on my home computer, but in an easy to carry, lightweight notebook.  I am very pleased with my laptop, and in fact, we are going to purchase another for my son who is on his way to college in the Spring!

This laptop is decent for the price and if given the circumstances I would defeinitely buy it again. The processor is perfect for basic computing and performing simple tasks such as Youtube, word processing, Internet browsing and maybe a few extras like same non intensive games. But if you try multi tasking too much then this laptop will definteily fail you. It is underpowered and needs a better processor as well as more RAM if it wants to try anything else/ I would go with not a betbook and an actual large laptop if you wanted to try playing games on the road/ The strong point about this computer is the battery life it brings to the table. When I conserve my battery and do my best to save battery life I end up getting maybe 8 to nine hours on average. On good days I wind up with maybe 9 hours.. TO make things short and simple, grab this Dell Vostro if you are on a budget and need good battery lfie!!!!!!!

I purchased the Dell Vostro 1014 Laptop Computer to use as my professional, work laptop.  I needed something that I could create presentations on and present them to clients as needed.  The computer has a very sleek, professional experience so that I have no problem using it in front of my clients.  It has a large 14" screen which makes it easy to view if I am unable to bring a projector.  It is also small enough to carry around in my briefcase and bring to meetings without being overburdened.  I have not had any issues with the hardware or software thus far.  Therefore, I would recommend this laptop to professionals who are looking for something that allows them to be productive and is easy to take on the road.  Additionally, the laptops is very well priced.  It's affordability makes it a very appealing option. The biggest drawback to the computer is the battery life.  For presentation purposes, I am only able to get about two hours.  This isn't a deal breaker but is definitely something to be aware of.

Cons.No WLAN driver support for XP really unusable with XPDevice driver DVD may fail to show driver trees in some machines like mineToshiba Samsung Storage (TSST) writer is bad. I think price for these spec it's very good because DELL product normally it's over than 2K. These model also support WINXP but I prefer using LINUX because I had using over 2 years without any problem... But 1 thing is the quality of speaker too bad (slow). If you in front of small noisy, I'm sure you can't hear the sound. I hope those people want to use buy this laptop, make sure you is the one didn't like use speaker (Maybe you preferred use head phone)... I hope DELL will do PROMOTION!!! like this every month... So everybody effort to buy it...
